I'm amazed with Supermax results but at the same time also feel it's too volatile for the stock. Most glove makers are oem for certain western brands but Supermax misfortune as obm seems to benefits them this time around.
If a company product can fetch 6x profit before vs after pandemic starts, it also mean they can fall back to this level after pandemic is over. It will be interesting to see where it will be heading in near future after pandemic is over. Plus the smaller glove makers are ramping up to expand and I wonder how well their obm model will do them. I feel like they should have gone for 50-50 between obm and oem to at least to guarantee a minimum eps. That's why others are rallying non stop when Supermax stay between RM1.70~3 all the time. |

QUOTE(Ziet Inv @ Aug 17 2020, 12:02 AM) To me personally, I believe anyone that used an iPhone before will find it difficult to go back to Android (at least from people that I know, myself not excluded), so there will always be a roundabout to solve that issue. LoLFor the people from China, they would be split between (1) Stuck in the iOS ecosystem and look for alternatives (2) Going back to Android and use WeChat as I know its their Facebook & digital bank there I believe some forumers from the US stock discussion thread here mentioned before, a few millions of China people still works for Apple (production factories), boycotting Apple will mean shooting in their own foot. However these are mainly the risks that I'm willing to take with AAPL because not all stocks are perfect (maybe AMZN haha!) I converted my wife from iPhone to Android easily despite her earlier fear. What Apple has done well over the last few years is kept their ipad pricing low which drove up demand for their services. At the same time, they are really doing well with their mac lineup. I don't see iphone as a growth factor for Apple. Their iPhone sales is declining years over years and I dare say it look good because they raised the price every year. However Epic is taking Apple to court over their 30% cut for IAP purchase and I think this will spoke investors if the court ruled in Epic favour. |

QUOTE(lauwenhan @ Sep 17 2020, 04:41 PM) hello, Zoom beat earnings and it went up. But TopGlove it never even went up a single CENT and dropped. WTF Profit number is nice but not sustainable post covid... however at 1% dividend... hardly attractive...If you got big heart... can still play until year end. |

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Oct 27 2020, 10:10 PM) Did anyone noticed that Harta and Supermax have similar revenue and yet SPMX net profit are 244mil higher than Harta. You wouldn't say the same pre-covid.Supermax is enjoying higher profit because they are not oem. They sell their gloves under their own branding directly which would reaps higher profit. Meanwhile the rest are just oem for respective brands. I cant remember the usa brand which accounted for more than 50% of Hartalega sales back then. That's why Supermax is kinda sketchy. It's like they would possibly free fall post covid. Hartalega meanwhile has the backing of these famous brands which would continously source from them post covid. QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Nov 4 2020, 07:06 PM) I came out from my meeting. End of trading already. Glove stocks are too greedy. Fat profit but owners trying to enrich themselves. If they would just throw some dividends then everything would be more rosy.My glove stocks are in red. But my furniture stocks and tech stocks are green. Not good. To continue eating durian/popcorn and watch the stocks tomorrow. I am puzzled about something. Whether Biden or Trump wins, why would this affect Bursa or the glove stocks? The vaccine news also puzzled me. If the vaccine comes next year, Malaysia will buy some with its limited budget. Distribute it to the frontliner workers first. Second batch maybe for children and senior citizens. Last batch is for the the ordinary citizens. But just because got vaccine, no need to wear gloves already??? This doesn't sound right. Lastly, the Budget 2021. Ahh..this is something which I think may affect Bursa. And also the announcement of the tightening of the CMCO for KL, Putrajaya and Selangor this weekend. So what do we have this Friday? Back to compulsory WFH? Windfall tax? Extension of loan moratorium? Bantuan Prihatin 2021? But if UMNO and PH refuse to support the Budget 2021, what happens next? Snap GE? I'm still holding Homeritz. However despite the fatter profits, I think their revenue is still lackluster. Only a few actually registered higher revenue, although most of them reported higher profits. I was under the impression that those orders from US will blow mind away but not the case. Maybe need to wait for another quarter for better view? |

QUOTE(Vanguard 2015 @ Nov 5 2020, 11:48 AM) Furniture related stocks has been up for the past 3-4 days. Look at Jaycorp for e.g. Up 15% in 2 days. Hevea up about +16% in 2 days. For you maybe 10% is enough but I have hold since 2018.Some may just load up the stocks quietly. That is not my style. Good news are meant to be shared with everyone! Why rush to sell Homeritz? Why sell a stock which it is in an industry which is on an uptrend? Just my view. But if you think you have made 10% or 20% or that the stock is overvalued already, then you can sell it. No hard and fast rules. Unfortunately, I am not aware of such a thread. At the end of the day, everyone has 2 eyes, 2 ears and one mouth. The reason is to enable us to listen more and talk less. Also God or nature has given everyone the same brain capacity . For thinking purpose and for us to filter us the garbage and toxic. My 2 kupang. |

QUOTE(nauticat99 @ Nov 5 2020, 03:00 PM) Crystal ball also saying that once budget is out of the way, glove stocks will take off. US and Europe covid is out of control. See another huge spike coming up in US within 2 weeks. Idiots are out with arms on the street protesting about the results. When every glove makers came out and said our capacity fully booked until 2022, what sort of surprises do you expect anymore? Cancel other people order and increase price 3x to those who can pay? This post has been edited by andrekua2: Nov 5 2020, 03:02 PM |
