QUOTE

'It is a huge club. So many great players have passed through there. It would be an honour to defend the Liverpool shirt,' Teixeira told Anfield HQ.

'There has only been one offer, €32m (£24.5m), and Shakhtar rejected it. I know my agent is still attempting everything possible to help me get to Liverpool.

'The team received one official offer from Liverpool. It was rejected. I don't know why. It was a great offer. It is frustrating but the manager and the club president decided against it. So now I am just waiting and trying to be patient.'
I don't know. It's tough to answer that. I want to be there. It is up to the club president now. I can only hope. I don't know what else to say.

'I have played with Coutinho since we were 10 years old. It would be a lot of fun to play with him again.'

in hindsight, it is very easy to say those players were success.
but i just got 1 word - aspas.

Yet another average poacher that we had been fooled.. in all 4min clips, 90% of all he did is "hey pass the ball to me and i will score for ya."..

All of these aspas, ilori, alberto, yesil, borini, texera are all not destined to be here.. in just matter of time all of these chaps will be sold at lost.. aspas n borini all 0 ability, ilori n yesil too liteweight, tex and alberto too slow..

but as u also pointed out, redknapp says "It doesn’t affect him."
and stats dont lie.
current season - 12 starts 11 goals.
2014/15 - 36 starts 18 goals.
2013/14 - 35 starts 20 goals.
2012/13 - 40 starts 27 goals.
2011/12 - 33 starts 17 goals.

heck, he makes sturridge look like benteke.

Only the bolded part is in Premier League. The rest is in Championship. Let's not forget how prolific Lambert is prior to joining us:

2009–10 League One 58 36goals
2010–11 League One 52 21goals
2011–12 Championship 48 31goals
2012–13 Premier League 38 15goals
2013–14 Premier League 39 14goals

My point is, Lambert was a "bargain" as well for
1. Being English
2. Only cost 5m
3. Brings goals.

But look what it happened?

Sometimes, the pressure of playing in big club is different and those Big Fish in Small pond thingy usually dont work well.

Reminds me of Charlie Adam, Andy Carrol and to certain extent ,Lallana and so on...

No point risking paying high wage for someone who is known to have injury problem during medical...

Doubt it.

Furthermore (if BR was still the helm)my guess LFC probably won't be searching talents outside England 😝 esp in the middle of the season.

Coincidentally I made such remark b4 and someone said "hey we got courtinho (non English) in January". 😏 🙄

Signed under who la 🙄🙄

Lambert was signed up as a back up striker, 3rd or 4th. Didn't and wasn't suppose to start as first 11

February 2016 (6 matches span over 26 days - average 4 days rest between games)

Tue - 2 Leicester

Sat - 6 Sunderland

Sun - 14 Aston Villa

Thu - 18 Augsburg

Thu - 25 Augsburg

Sun - 28 Capital One Cup  Man City

Win this weekend against West Ham then add another match in February, which will be sandwiched by the Augsburg games. Draw against WH and the replay should be between Sunderland and Villa games. Congested fixture list is an understatement.

Many are saying Teixeira doesn't worth the price tag and better use the money on summer transfer.

How do you guys know if we have budget for January and summer seperately?

What if FSG have 40M for us to spend on January? And another 40M on summer?

Would you guys still want us to sign anyone in this window?

Or this is more of a question that our transfer committee have set the upper limit of Teixeira price tag to be 35M; anything higher than that is a no go.

At the moment we do not know anything regarding the budget. Spending big in January does not necessary mean lesser budget in summer. But recruiting the right profile of players now would boost our squad and might help us to secure more wins towards the end of the season which might result in cup wins (Capitol, FA, Europa) and higher finish in the league which would be fruitful and in the end will generate more income for us to spend in the summer.

To qualify for Europa League next season shouldn't be too difficult for us to achieve this season. But do we really need another run in EL that has been proven times and times again it is deteriorating to our tiny squad. We can't handle Thursday night-Sunday matches. Of course it is good to be involved in the Europe clubs competition but at the moment (for next season), I would rather we focus on the league only. We do not need that extra distraction. Either CL or no European tournament at all.

Anyway I hope we can win EL this season so we can qualify for CL next season.

Methinks the biggest issue now is GOALs. And then our star strike's availability. i think Sturridge is out indefinitely.
The rest of the team is more or less chugging along adequately.

Put in a fast goal getter, we would have changed the dynamics of our final third play. Presently, its just so pedestrian . Think Klopp is looking and weighing seriously at that.

It's such a sad state to see Klopp opt to put Caulker as forward to rescue us. Funny but really sad.

We LFC shouldn't have reached such situation. Putting defender as a striker. You would think it's a stroke of genius but the real issue lies deeper than that.

Really hope we can get a striker or forward in before the window closes in few days time but the possibility is really small at the moment.
