Now tell me this is common.

And FYI, online time may be 4-5 hours.
But actual time outside is 6+ hours.

All I want to say is stop painting nice pictures for Uber lar.

Lol dude.

From what you mentioned here, it's either you got a bad luck or you don't really drive smart. Who is your target market, which area you likely get more customers, what time you should drive, how to play with surge/boost or even how you pick up your customers intelligently, maybe you don't understand all these.

I've been driving not over 1 month and I "slowly" understand the concept, but looks like not to you. From the trips you made, I guess you been driving for quite sometime but now only you vent your frustration here, which I found amusing.

Although I'm still frustrated from 25% commission Uber are getting, but I'm still making good money from the advice all shifus, especially Ian.

Even on the worst day I'll be making at least RM15/hour and I'm a night driver which boost/surge at minimal. Uber is all about effort, and there is no free lunch in the society must work hard and smart to earn it.

If you really struggle to profit from Uber, then mai change lo. Full time Grab ka, full time Zepp ka, or full time Mat Driver ka. Why vent frustration here and flaming people. Everyone got a proven record and people still can play around with these platforms.

Peace out.

hi im thinking wan to do 6-8hrs a day ..which can make more nowadays ? uber/gc ? thx sifu

Grab is stressful but make more money if drive smart.

Uber is stress free and need effort to really earn money.

Ping-wise, I would say Grab more because of their huge local market and relentless promotion. But Uber not far behind, but again, location is an important role.

rm3-4 fare not losing money and time ?
Sorry, I forgot that your dad opens a petrol station with a workshop side-by-side.
That's why your car fuel and maintenance is free.

Nice income btw, great for recruiting unsuspecting new drivers.

Like I have said before to the others, go try for yourself and see.
Put in 40 hours a week and see if you make half of this sifu's income LOLX...

Lol bro you still around?

I wonder why still waste your time here and wasting your time driving Uber, and if you do, really baffles me.

There are lots of people out there driving Uber happily and I can see there is only one guy in LYN forum keep on berating it, which is yourself.

Uber is all about effort, if you don't drive smartly and want the maximum earning with minimum job, then seek elsewhere. Seriously.

If you not happy, really please do not waste your time here, time is GOLD, just change to Grab or taxi drivers, no one actually force anyone to drive for them.

I know human always greedy and selfish, and they put the effort of RM2 in value and want RM10 cash in return.

1. During promotion uber sometimes introduce minimum fare also like last 99cents promo
2. Promotion also to increase rider, more chance to surge
3. Grab able to see destination of course nicer than uber d, but this encourage taxi-like mindset la like side deal with extra charge also. Although this is still possible with uber but at least the system does not promote it
4. Grab incentive system also getting lesser and lesser value d.drivers slowly change towards fare driver rather than incentive driver.the incentive also when U not able to meet the requirement, it is super frustrating as fk, makes U wanna quit straightaway or become fare driver d

This is what I can comment la based on driving both uber and grab for part time, averaging about 20hrs a week in melaka/klang valley. For me grab able to thrive because they understand our mentality, while uber more suitable for first world country with first world mentality la. Grab every week also got something new while uber...maybe every 2 months lol

Guys, it's been a while since my last post.

Regarding some bros concern on the trip that much more further than what you wanted to drive, you can do the following :-

1) You can and you should reject outstation trips if you are not ready to drive that far and you will make a big loss. Kindly tell the rider it is out of your driving radius and end the trip by drop off, the fares will show zero and rider no need pay anything. Put a remark on that particular booking. Rider can request driver again and try their luck.

2) You should ask for an additional op-up for long-distance trip. Eg, RM150 to Melaka (from Uber apps), you should ask additional RM100 for empty car return, if they don't agree, cancel the trip.

3) Out of city trip, return tolls should be bared by rider (stated in Uber).

Hope this helps!

it happened to me last month that i received a ping from jalan sultan, near petaling street. once arrived there, saw 3 fat european ladies with their big back packs. helped them load the bags in my boots and swiped 'start destination'... it showed chulia street, penang. i almost pengsan. it was only my second day of driving and didn't know what to do... so i just quickly canceled the trip and picked not to charge rider some more... told them i can't go penang. they were all in the car already and asked me what to do. i told them to take ets train from kl sentral. they agreed and i sent them to kl sentral free of charge bangwall.gif if it happens again, i would just ask them to change destination instead of cancelling it. asked them how much was the ride to penang and it was just RM265. worth it?
*
Penang 1 way at least you need to charge RM500 offline trip bro.

Stupig and newbie question..I had a pickup over the weekend..there was 3 riders..

One of the rider requested me to drop him off to his house first (not part of the destination request, even with the new multi-stop feature)..

Then only I dropped off the other 2 riders to the requested destination..do I get paid for the detour?
*
If the fare took you further, yes, if it's still inside the upfront fare calculation, then it's a nope...if not using too much time, tutup mata je la bro....

If no mistaken, once we start the trip, rider can rate us even if we cancel it later in our app. So need to talk to the rider nicely for rejecting their trip.

My car is more than 5 yrs. Plan to buy new car to drive uber on weekend.

What car would u suggest ? Sorry la newbie surely ask alot.
*
Hey dude, if you plan to buy a "new" car just to do e-hailing, I would suggest you reconsider. Because nowadays the earnings not as good as it used to be you see, if you burden yourself with another installment, it is not worthy at all. If you plan to do WEEKEND only, it's even more not worthy.

But the only car suitable for e-hailing now is only Axia or Bezza, others you can ignore lol.

IMO, nothing wrong actually with calling riders to ask for destination.
Uber should not hide the destination in the first place, it's our car and we should decide if we go east/west/etc.

Some pickup location is more than 7 km, and if you don't ask - u might end up in some kampung doing a 1-2 km trip.
And then you have to drive out more than 7 km into civilization.

Erm, you registered for Grab and FT already? Lul

Uber demand is pretty low for the last few weeks(after raya), 2 trips per hour is a norm now...

Anyway just some suggestions:-
1. Area - which area you driving at? popular uber area like mont kiara or PJ would get you nearer matches.
2. Time - don't drive when there is no boost/surge
3. Grab - if your driving area/time really can't fit the boost schedule. perhaps you might want to consider to drive grab instead, as these hours on Sunday are HP/MP blocks, the same number of trips would get you at least RM58 nett. Best option is to get 2 phones and drive for both grab ambassador and uber.
*
1) Sunday no MP
2) No guaranteed hour can nett you RM58

Yesterday was my first time starting Uber. 1st drive is really nervous because you be fetching some stranger  sweat.gif

But then the struggling part is these 2 hours 15 minutes i can only earn this much and these 4 trips are all short distance. The hassle part is picking up the passengers some more which drag the total driving spent is 2 hours 15 minutes but the total of these 4 trips is only like 1 hour. the extra 1 hour 15 minutes is spent driving to pickup passengers

Looking at this i guess i really need to reflect how to improve my earnings.  rclxub.gif

I doing this only on Sat and Sunday so i wont be aiming for incentives
*
Bro, Uber is like this, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win, try to drive within boost area (which only will be activated after you complete certain amount of trips), during raining time (surge will appear), and make sure your location is good (eg KL Central, TBS, MK, KLCC, etc).

Just remember the golden rule :-
1) Drive fast - pick up customer
2) Drive slow - no ping yet
3) Drive normal - when rider in car

There's nothing much of a formula for Uber, you need to put effort and feel the journey in order to understand more. You have to treat your first month in Uber career as a novice stage, then you will be amateur > normal > experienced Uber driver.

For weekend, once you have a certain amounts of rides in your new account, you will have "Cash King" quest during the weekend, which is very doable if you really put in some efforts .

Happy driving, fellow comrade!

Thanks bro. We are new so need some tipsi.

Those free hope to share share.

It's not a problem, just we have to make sure what we "share" is genuine to new drivers, so they can drive according to the rules. Not ajaran sesat and teach the new drivers how to game the system, they can keep it to themselves.

No matter what time, whoever you fetch, where you drive, drive with a happy heart and you will enjoy e-hailing much more.
