KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police have denied reports of 50 taxi drivers attacking an Uber Car in central Kuala Lumpur.

Speaking to reporters, Brickfields Assistant Commissioner Sharul Othman Mansor said on Wednesday (Jun 22) that it was an altercation between one taxi driver and an Uber driver.

According to the New Straits Times, Sharul said: "The incident took place at 12.30pm on Monday. The Uber vehicle, which was ferrying an Iranian passenger to her destination, was obstructed by two or three taxi drivers. This led to an argument between them."

The police chief also denied that the Uber vehicle's windows were shattered by objects thrown by the attackers.

Reports had been circulating online that 50 taxi drivers had pulled out the Iranian passenger and attacked the Uber vehicle, injuring the tourist.

Guys, I got an issue. I didn't get my Nuzul Al-Quran 22/6 Public Holiday Guaranteed Rate at RM16/h due to having acceptance rate of 78% (I need to have 79% to qualify)

I believe this is just a made up number since I made 7 trips that day and I'm unable to accept only 1 trip (beeping twice but then the beep stop).

How come that calculate me to 78% acceptance rate and how do you actually calculate the acceptance rate for Uber?
*
1st, it is 90% acceptance rate needed.
2nd, I strongly believe UBER DOES has an issue on this Acceptance Rate and Rating calculation. Writing to them won't solve the issue. You got to walk-in, Hopefully they will listen.

I never had issue with not getting the PHG because of acceptance rate issue. Every hail come in also accept la, then don't have to worry about acceptance rate, give and take for some bad request and all still comfortable.
*
May I know, does your UBER weekly report show your acceptable rate 100%?

Yup, almost tripled. Too many RM 2-5 trips. And we don't have the KLIA run of RM 75.

Most of the time I have the rider app turned on too. Can only notice 6-7 drivers online. And they hardly move so I'm guessing they just go online to get the hourly guarantee rates.

I think uber needs to spend more time to market their presence in ipoh. 9 out of 10 people i know in Ipoh has no idea Uber is in Ipoh.
*
Please share your Ipoh's hourly guarantee rate. Thanks.

You can see my JB's hourly guarantee rates in the previous posting. If u want I can share again.

Can share the website link for JB guarantee rates?
*
JB's

https://newsroom.uber.com/malaysia/uberjb-r...d-until-5-july/

Being statistical trained, IMO. these HOURLY GUARANTEES (HG) are after data collected and analysis and study before put up to us. Since I start one week before the Puasa period, I am not sure if the super peak is always there (& stay). Base these, those who driving in JB, should be have fare RM16/hour with +/- 10% or so. I think we should set this as target. Do note this is fare before deduct

1. commission,
2. petrol
3. periodic maintenance and
4. adhoc maintenance.

My data for petrol is showing 20% - 30% of fare. This is for JB market. JB similiar to Ipoh, a lot of short distance. My JB's showing, 30% less than RM5, 30% of Rm5- RM10. (I did post this.) This may change. The smallest I have is RM2 FARE.

For KL, may be different. As they have KLIA to look forward. Their distance should be longer. KL is charge 0.60/km vs JB 0.50/km

As for the incentive (HG), I am manage to get 5 - 9% of my earning. For this, UBER is keep tighten up the conditions that will be difficult to meet.

Hi all, I started out doing Uber in KL. But now I want to do it in JB. When I went online, I get redirected to the documents pages, even though all my documents are all still valid. Do I need to email Uber to change my location?  confused.gif
*
You got to re-register in JB office. You can't just cross.

BTW, why you want to ubering to JB? Earning in JB is low. How much you earning in KL?

perhaps you can say it in another way: "I am sorry sir. I have just accepted another request before ending the trip because I didn't know you wanted me to wait for you. I am sorry for the inconvenience. Don't worry, this area is quite easy to get another Uber, you can just request 1 now. Once again, I am really sorry."

Just keep blaming yourself and i think the rider will keep quiet adi smile.gif

I have read this forum from beginning, somehow I feel you are working for Uber.

If the trip is long, the rider will rather wait. Unless it's super urgent.

My driver rating is now 4.16 (JB area).... Any day now, I am going to be banned. Hahahaha.....smile.gif

You won't get banned for this 4.16.

I am from JB too. Somehow, Johorean is rather giving low mark to the driver. I useD to educate the rider on this point system whenever possible. Now I rather talk about the weather than point rating system.

I don't really give a Damn to this rating system. As long  As it won't go lower than 4.22.
Which in my case I drive full time . The chances of lower than that threshold will be slim.
I really wonder why many of you guys too care about the rating.
Uber will not pay driver extra even our rating is 4.8x or more
*
One of the condition for Uber to pay extra (incentive) is rating 4.6 and above.

Yes. Just who will bare the additional cost - rider, driver or the company (Uber or Grabcar). And how much.

I guessed we can use this calculation to know our NET earnings per hour. This takes into calculation after deducting the Uber fees, petrol and car maintenance.

Uber fees = 25%
Petrol = 25%
Maintenance = 10%

You're left with 40% * Net earnings / hour drive = RM/hour.
*
These nos sound reasonable to me (when I am on UBER and in JB). Now that I have "stop" uber and on GrabCar. UBER software is superb. For GarbCar, a lot of manual work needed on the data. As on now, I can state for sure, better. Nowadays, I talk about the bird and weather rather than the rating requirement with my rider.

PNB chairman: Reduce Uber, Grab car service charges

PUTRAJAYA: Ridesharing car services such as Uber and Grab Car should reduce their service charges to help drivers secure more income, said Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar.

Uber takes about 25 per cent (as service fee) from the drivers. They could do with less,” he said based on his experience as a Uber driver.

http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...-tekan-pemandu/

i guess drivers are paid base on waze shortest distance, rather than actual traveled distance?

Uber is base on the actual travel distant (and time taken)

GarbCar is base on the shortest distant regardless which route you taken.
