bro.. gotta ask, can NC-U6 fit on tf965pt mobo with btvx on it? and can it be attached wit fan?
*
No, I dont think it can fit under BTVX. too big wink.gif

QUOTE(Polaris @ Feb 27 2007, 10:40 PM)
Shouldn't the fan be on the right side blowing towards the back side?

Iringan, looks like Bulk 3 isn't going so well, the orders actually went down from last week, any idea how long it will be until MOQ is reached?
*
You can install it either way. Wont make much difference.

Sometime is like that one. Hopefully bulk v2 buyer will give some good review. So can pump up the sales. Bulk v1 used 4 weeks and Bulk v2 used around 4 weeks too. So should be around there.

Added on February 28, 2007, 12:27 amOH YA.... The last and extra unit of NC-U6 is SOLD. Thanks

Congratulation on successful in the bulk 2... thumbup.gif  now already start bulk 3, good... rclxms.gif

I will change my NH-12F fan to different orientation this Saturday, I will post the different in temp after done in the Air Cooling Thread... The combination I will use to test the temp are:

Silverstone FM-121 at rear, Noctua fan on NH-12F push air to rear;
Silverstone FM-121 at rear, Noctua fan on NH-12F pull air from front to rear;
Noctua fan at rear, Silverstone FM-121 on NH-12F push air to rear;
Noctua fan at rear, Silverstone FM-121 on NH-12F pull air from front to rear;

The purpose of this test is to see whether it will have different in temp in push or pull, and how much it can be cool down if using high CFM fan, and I have promise DaRkSyThE will do the test by put the FM-121 to the NH-12F... laugh.gif
*
Good to hear that.. Will look at it later.

Btw, if i not mistaken, it is better to use 2 fan that run at the same speed. else it will disturb the air flow.

Good heatsink. Just got it yesterday, and play OC. My E6600 about to reach 3.5GHz with around 45~46C when open case, around 48~50C when close case.

The fan is very nice, very quiet. But my fan is better when OC.. hehe
*
Good to hear that. Noctua fan is meant for silent setup. So not suitable for OC. If you dont want the fan, sell back to me smile.gif

I am more than glad to buy from you smile.gif

er...you mean I need to have same speed fan at rear casing and the NH-12F ar?  hmm.gif  Should I get another FM-121 to put on NH-12F so that I will have same speed fan at rear casing and NH-12F? then I can use the Noctua fan as intake fan... hmm.gif  good idea too... nod.gif  I will think about it again...need to plan my budget too...got a lot of plan but got little of cash... doh.gif
*
I am not sure about that la.. I heard that from some of my friend. They said it is better to use the same speed fan for the best result. I dont know because never test that before. Anyway, FM121 fan is GREAT. i am using it now for my Scythe Andy Samurai Master. Works like a charm!

Not noisy, just some whoming sound only...and you can control the speed via it speed controller... icon_rolleyes.gif
*
FM122 is more expensive because it is much thicker than FM121 and it pushed more air than FM121. Very suitable as a rear casing fan.

Irangan....i think u can ask the buyer what mobo / gc / chipset cooler / casing that they used and can or cannot suit thier rig.This data we can contribute in Air Cooling thread

Not too big difference if you see it in general. Hehe..

I heard that info from moderno and zamree7. Should be correct since normally thicker fan produce more pressure.

Can anyone here post their CPU temp after using Noctua?

My Noctua fan show 800RPM without the ULTA cable connect? Should't it be 1200RPM?
*
Err... It is the first time I heard something like that. Can you double check that it really running at 1200rpm? If it is indeed running at that speed, I will get a replacement for you. Anyway, please test it out. Thanks and sorry.

QUOTE(kucingfight @ Mar 5 2007, 11:51 AM)
The best Push-Pull effect is to have a wind tunnel effect. A higher pressure CFM fan should be located at the Pull (Rear) side. In short, the difference in air pressure movement will create Vacumn Pulling like effect to expel the hot air to the back case fan. In general, that's to say :

Pressure:  (case rear fan) > (pull fan) > (push fan).

Then it will create a gradual pulling air movement effect.

If you are having a rear 12cm case fan,and you intend to use a single fan configuration,  it should be of a higher pressure than the 1 placed on the HSF. To increase air movement efficiency, a semi closed shroud should be constructed from the rear of the HSF directly to the rear case fan.
*
Thanks for the explaination.

QUOTE(Kataro @ Mar 5 2007, 09:40 PM)
You can check out my temp at Air Cooling Thread there...mine running more than 1200rpm, sometime even go up to 1300rpm++ (mostly during hot weather or during load) icon_rolleyes.gif
ic...so let say I use Noctua NH-S12-1200 (80CFM++ (not sure is this the correct value) as push, FM-121(110CFM) as pull, and then use NMB (like the one in your sig there which have 118CFM) at rear casing there, then it will have gradual pulling air movement effect right? unsure.gif

This morning I reapply the Noctua promotion items as they did not send me any email after I apply last time, to be my suprise, I found an email telling me the items being sent today when I open my Outlook Express after I reach home from work... thumbup.gif  nice job Noctua... rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  notworthy.gif
*
Noctua customer service all very hardworking one. hehe.

I may want to order both the U12F and U6 too, mate. But one problem rose while I was thinking of the dimensions. If I install the U12F in a position where it is blowing air towards my rear exhaust fan, its fins should already collide with my original Northbridge heatsink on my Asus mobo. The current heatsink is around 2.5 - 3cm height from my mobo, so will it be able to fit under the fins of the U12F?

Also, if so happens that it DOES collide and won't fit, will changing it to the U6 solve the problem? And as I heard but am not sure of, is it true that the new units of the U12F now have the cool Noctua logo on them? smile.gif

Here's a photo of the situation. The northbridge looks puny from the pic, but it does measure up to 2 - 3cm height from the mobo
