hi guys, can anyone recommend me a good value-for-money vacuum cleaner ? I see now plenty manufacturers offer cyclone type and some use filter. I'm overwhelmed by the choices. I wish to not spend a lot. Toshiba has one for rm500. samsungs also around that prices. What about filter replacement availability ? many concerns

Go for bag-less one so can anyone recommend me a cheaper one, with good enough power and if it uses filter, it should be easily bought at any big stores. |

Cyclone bagless. Low noise Lightweight With HEPA exhaust filter (must) Electrolux has some models around RM300 with above features. |

My criteria for a good vacuum cleaner -
1. Must have bag, and preferably S-Bag. Vacuum cleaner is suppose to clean for you not you end up cleaning the vacuum cleaner (bagless kind) 2. The attachment must be able to lock together and not friction fitted. Friction fits will come loose and become a nuisance when you do your cleaning. Attachment rod/wands preferably not plastic as plastic breaks easily. 3. Exhaust should have a Hepa filter to prevent dust from coming back out. Get those that comes with washable Hepa filter 4. Not too heavy. If too heavy it will be a chore to carry it up and your stairs. Make sure it can also roll around easily. 5. The thing should be reasonably quiet. Hate those that is so loud the whole neighborhood can hear you do your cleaning End up I getting this - http://m.electrolux.com.my/Products/Cleaning/Bag/ZUSG4061/ If you wait for their warehouse sale you can get 40-50% off I have a 20 year old National MC-2700 that I'm still using everyday. Noticed it's still under National last time. I still can get bags for it. This post has been edited by idoblu: Jan 20 2016, 01:22 PM |

Bagless require more effort to clean the filter inside the dust box.
If not, the suction will reduce a lot. |

I bought Electrolux ZVE4010. I liked the adjustable suction power function on the vacuum. Different power to suck on solid floor vs carpet.

I am using Electrolux ZUF4206DEL bagless type. The suction power is good and easier to clean.
There are two filters and a dust container to clean after the vacuum. The filters and dust container are well designed in a way which the removable parts can be taken out easily for cleaning. I have no regrets for purchasing the bagless type and very happy with this model. |

Just FYI, currently the best vacumm cleaner in the market is come from Dyson, UK company, manufactured in Senai, Johor. However the price is not affordable to most of the ppl in Malaysia.
Some said bagless will need to clean the filter occasionally to avoid suction loss, basically this is due to poor separation they designed in the machine. Cyclone is the Dyson patented technology 20 years ago that basically patent expired nowadays so everyone is able to copy and use the name now. Unfortunately some can't master the separation technology correctly and causing some degree of debris bypass the bin and stick to the pre-filter hence suction loss. I have a Dyson cylinder vacumm cleaner that used for clean my new house after renovation, sucks all the concretes, wire stray, left over cement dust and alot of fine dust without clogging and lose suction even the bin is full. Thank you. I already recommended what I think is good in my earlier post but I can suggest one more. Use a flat dust mop instead. It's so much faster to use than a vacuum. I'm not trolling you. I use one everyday and I only use my vacuum to suck the dirt off the flat mop ๐ ![]() This post has been edited by idoblu: Mar 5 2016, 09:35 AM |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Mar 5 2016, 10:06 AM) haha good, im using the rubbermaid one for mopping as well. Thanks. I am thinking of going to Best Denki and may be ESH today to take a look at some VC. Hopefully I find one - it makes me realise how difficult ot is when it comes to decision making. But I think I have narrowed down my brand to Electrolux and Philips.for dusting, there is a dusting pad that you can buy for itย A lot of people say that using bagged vacuum cost more in the long run - buying the bag. I have no experience in this. What's the price like and and how much do you need to spend for it like in a year ? Sorry, it may sound silly but I have never owned a VC before - the one I am planning to get for my new apartment and is my first purchase. QUOTE(Career26 @ Mar 5 2016, 09:47 AM) this type of mop didnt work well on my tile. When you sweep and some dust is collected, and when you change direction the dust will somehow stay at that area, only happens when you squirt the detergent. |
