Hi, so I guess the best time to grab the C9 will be at end of the year sale?

Yes. However, there will be a time when the demand picks up as people start buying up the older C series stock and prices will actually go up slightly.

I'd say just set a budget and if the TV you want hits that price, get it and forget about the price movement after that. That'll save you a whole lot of heartache.

Thanks. What would be the 2nd choice?

Panasonic seems less dealers here selling it. And I am not sure whether it's feasible to order online and delivered such a fragile big item.

Bottom line is, I will probably buy whichever I can find cheaper. But if all similar price, I would like to know choice 1 and 2 etc.
*
I bought my OLED TV online twice and had no issues with delivery.

Just make sure you buy from reputable shops i.e. Desa Home, SenQ, etc.

Anyone using LG sound bar SL8Y? I found that it doesn’t turn on with my LG TV even with HDMI ARC connection
*
Mine works fine about 95% of the time. SL8Y paired with C8 here.

My Xbox HDMI goes to TV. Then, use the eARC of the TV HDMI out to HDMI in to the soundbar.

Just purchased the new LG SN9Y sound bar and noticed that I'm getting audio lag when I play content on my Xbox One X. Pretty weird since I never faced this when I was using my SL8Y sound bar. I paired both to my LG C8.

Wondering, would using a 2.1 HDMI cable help to solve this issue? Quite frustrating since there is no option to adjust AV Sync to something negative.

I noticed that the 65" LG CX and GX price difference is only around RM1k on Shopee/Lazada.

If you factor in that the CX will need a wall mount when the GX already comes with one, why would anyone want to get a CX? I'm seriously thinking of adding a 65" TV in my house so appreciate any feedback.

Looks like now CX/GX is around RM5-RM6k for 55" and RM9-RM11k for the 65".

Hopefully can get the 65" at around RM7/RM8K in the next few months.

From my experience since C8, C series 65" never drop that price. That price range is for B series. The C series always 10-11k.

Yeah, but here's hoping. When I bought my C8 55", I got it around RM4.5k after discount. As of now, you can get the CX 65" at around RM9k. I seriously think between RM8 to RM9k is possible towards the end of the CX's life which usually happens towards the end of the year.

My real dilemma would actually be between the CX or GX. The difference in price is around RM1.5k, but after you factor in the wall mount which comes for free with the GX, suddenly it's neck and neck.

I bought my 55" C8 on Lazada. I received a used set at first and returned it. Bought another set from another seller and that has been with me ever since. Honestly, I'll probably buy my 65" OLED online as well soon.

My recommendation is to buy from sellers with good ratings and also straight away open and check your TV so that if anything is wrong, you can quickly complain or return the item.

I've bought a fridge, 2 sound bars, etc. on Shopee or Lazada and have had good experiences. Just make sure you check properly upon receiving your item and everything should work out OK.

Netflix required solid 25mbps to run 4K. If u subs to 30Mbps package, take consideration best of effort service level is at least 70% meaning that ISP can guarantee u get at least 21Mbps minimum which not enough for Netflix 4K requirement.
*
Just to share, I'm currently on 30mbps Unifi and can get full Netflix 4K 95% of the time. As long as you don't have people torrenting, watching Netflix on another TV at the same time, it should be OK most of the time.

Having said that, I'll be upgrading to 100mbps at my new place since I'm planning on getting another TV for the house.

Ordered the LG 65 GX from Harvey Norman and they are kind enough to free me the TV stand ( doesnt include for Gx series and sold separately at rm399 )  Else i might need to keep this tv for 2 months before i could mount to new house’s wall 🤗🤗
*
Mind sharing how much you got it for? Planning to get that model but just waiting for the right time.

That is assuming Telekom giving you what you paid for. I have 800mbps and occasionally I still have problem.

I purchased the 65" CX from other merchant for 9.8k on 20 September. I submitted to LG https://www.lg.com/my/merdeka-rewards (due date is extended to 15/11 now, initial due date was 31/8 then LG just keep on extending) for the purifier redemption and only received the confirmation on mid October via email. Last week I emailed LG and they told me that they will fulfill my redemption around mid to end of November. So total process takes around 2 months to redeem from purchase date. It is not a speedy process at all.

I am not sure if Desa Home mentioned this to you, the 65" CX free gift single booster air purifier is limited to only 150 units btw.
https://www.lg.com/my/promotions/merdeka-st...ome-sales-terms

I am using Q600A. Yes Dolby Atmos works with CX eARC for netflix etc. If gaming with xbox then you will get audio lag. I suggest you get Q700A and above or straight go for Q950A. The Q600A software update can only be done via USB and it doesn't recognize my USB format initially. I had to reformat the USB and tried multiple times to get it to work. For Q700A and above, you can just update via Samsung Smart things.
*
Very helpful information. Thank you.

I actually called LG and they said that although the redemption was extended up to 15th Nov, you have to purchase the eligible product between 1 Aug - 30 Sep to be eligible. I'm planning to get the 65" GX model so will try my luck but just to manage my expectation, I'm going to assume that I won't be successful.

On the flipside, there are more units (200) being offered for the AS10GDWB0 air purifier, so maybe they'll take pity on me.

Anyone here wall mount their LG GX? How the hell did you hide the wires or you just display them proudly?

Am looking for tips/inspiration by the way. Thanks.

Build a fake wall with studs, mount the GX onto the fake wall. Then run the cables into the fake wall and then out from the bottom of the wall into your sources.

Otherwise the ghetto way is just to use exposed casing for the cables.

Cheers man. Sounds like the most logical thing to do. My contractor is suggesting to korek my wall and put trunking or something like that. But the wall is reinforced concrete so don't know if that's the wise thing to do.

I stay in an apartment so don't want to be responsible if the entire building collapses just because I wanted to hide some wires. I'd probably do a Jho Low and disappear if that were to happen.

Don't need to hack wall. Your whole house will be full of dust, don't know how long you need to clean. Dirty AF as well. Furthermore if a cable spoils in the future (common with HDMI btw), good luck replacing the cable if it's inside concrete lol (unless you install spares, but that means more money too).
*
That's true, but I'm actually renovating my place from scratch so dust and debris is not really a concern. I think what my contractor meant was to plant a tube in the wall so that you can thread the necessary wires through and also leave option to adjust in the future.

My concern is that since the power plug OLED TV's tend to be big (full 3 pin plug), how big will the tube be and whether they'll knock too much of the wall to fit that tube.

If you wan to do that, make sure to get a larger diameter conduit.

As for the power plug, just unscrew the 3 pin plug head, take out the cable it self and sleeve it through the conduit first. Once inside, just screw the cable back into the 3 pin plug.
DO NOT cut the power cable and rejoin it because that VOIDS the warranty of the TV, yes as stupid as that sounds.
*
Thanks for the tip. I had a look at my power plug and it's one of those without any screws. Just one opening for the fuse and that's it.

Starting to think that building a dry wall is the only solution to hiding my cables.

Update: Just got my panel replaced by LG FOC. Took around 3 weeks from complaint to replacement which isn't too bad. The technicians did a good job replacing but they missed 1 screw (which I thankfully stepped on and screwed it in myself, so not going to complain). Had a chat with them before they left my place and can summarise a few things:

- In relation to dead pixels, replacement depends on where the dead pixel is. Mine was quite in the middle of the screen so LG deems it interfering with the viewing experience, so even though I just had 1 dead pixel, they still deemed it worthy of replacement. However, if you have say 2 or 3 dead pixels but closer towards the edges of the screen, then you'd need maybe 4 or more before they will replace the panel because it doesn't 'hamper' viewing by their definition. In a way, I was 'lucky' that my dead pixel occurred where it did.

- The whole process was very professional but it took some time mainly because of the approval process i.e. LG management has to authorise for the replacement since it was a high cost replacement. If you claim for something of a lower value (say, motherboard, remote, etc.), the process will definitely be faster. I didn't harass LG and just waited for them to get back to me so maybe that's why it was a little slower.

- Suffice to say, I'm probably going to keep getting LG OLED TV's going forward based on this experience. Their washing machines are great as well, so definitely a brand I'll be loyal to going forward.

On a side note, is 120 Hz enabled automatically if you play the Xbox Series X or PS5? I tried looking for some special setting on the TV but can't seem to find any on the TV.
