Normal. The wireless NIC and antenna band in smart TVs are laughably bad, has been this case since like... I don't know, since smart TVs were a thing.

Thanks for your reply. Sigh ... I'll keep testing these few days and if it still sucks, will have to get myself a long network cable to improve things.

What was for their full diagnosis? It makes no sense to me that they say "front and back panel" problem when you can't turn on your TV at all lol.

Doubt they will replace your current model with a C9. Not sure. Usually this only happens if you buy those premium warranties from HVN or something. Could be wrong though?
*
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't third party warranties only kick-in after the official factory warranty period ends (2 years for LG TV's)?

If that's the case, it's up to the generosity of LG. From my experience of claiming warranties from various manufacturers, they will replace with the exact same model if no repair can be done. It's a bit tricky in this case as the C8 is an older model which is no longer in production.

Best case, you'll get a C9. Worst case, monetary compensation for the purchase price of the C8. Realistically, top up an amount to get a C9.

Either way, hope if works out well.

Wow. I've not purchased any extended warranty for mine. Might want to look into this if it's not too late.

Can share what does HVN stands for?

How to set Dobly  Atmos sound setting when watching Netflix movie with dobly atmos Say watching from tv then sound to avr by ARC.
*
For me, the sound setting will automatically switch to Dolby Atmos and correct me if I'm wrong, there's no way to change it to another sound setting (except adjust bass, treble, balance, etc.)

I'm using an LG C8 with sound coming from the LG SL8Y soundbar by the way.

I'm seeing that the 55" C9 is currently going for around RM7,500 with free LG SL5Y soundbar on Lazada/Shopee.

Signs that the next series' OLED's are close I guess?

That is previous model. SK9Y where bought year ago. Not going to change st the moment. Haha!
*
Oh ok. Did you have to raise the TV to clear the soundbar's height?

The stupid but honest reason I didn't buy a C9 was because the C8's screen sits higher on the stand xp

I actually put additional +/- 5cm wood board below C9 stand because the height is a little low where the sound bar will blocking the TV screen.
*
Cheers. You'll definitely enjoy the TV.

You fellas are making me wish I bought a C9 instead.

Hi guys, wat is the actual diff between c9 and b9? i saw c9 selling 7999 for 55inch then b9 65inch 8888.. i am using it for my bedroom but my bedroom is where i watch movies gaming etc. i normally watch movie on my bed.. so the viewing distance is quite far.. but if gaming i don normally gaming while on the bed, so i will sit like 1.5m to the screen, so 65inch kinda overkill for that distance. currently i am using 42inch sony led tv..quite dilemma now.. c9 65inch cost a 13k.. too much for me..
*
You can get the C9 55 inch at around RM7k now. I'm no expert, but your viewing distance is approximate that of mine and 55 inch would be better. At the same time, a C9 would have a better features compared to a B9.

Personally if I were you, I'd get the C9.

I think someone here said before, check the total power on time. This part is not resettable by shop itself.

Yup. In fact, do this check for every TV that you buy.

I had a bad experience during the purchase of my first OLED. I was sold a display set with over 5,000 hours of usage.

So please check, because devious shops can really wrap/clean up the TV making it look like a brand new unit.

they say OLED have shorter lifespan. See any degradation of picture quality?
*
Definitely but at 5,000+ hours, I believe any TV will show some form deterioration in picture quality.

I was able to return and receive my refund though. Bought a new OLED and close to 6 months of ownership without any problems so far.

Just a random rant. Why can't OLED TV manufacturers make TV's that have higher stands i.e. clearance between the base and screen?

I can't mount the TV on the wall so need all the clearance I can get to clear my soundbar.

Currently my C8's clearance can just clear the soundbar. However, looking at the new CX and Sony OLEDs, all have either low or next to no ground clearance.

What is up with that? Honestly, this was the main reason I bought a C8 over a C9.

By coincidence this is also a minor consideration of mine. Noticed the Panasonic GZ1000 have higher stand compared to the C9
*
Yup. Just had a look and it's taller than the C8's at around 7 cm.

Unfortunately, still can't clear the more 'elite' soundbars like Samsung's Q90R and the upcoming Sonos Arc. Still need a third-party stand to increase the height of the TV.

Bro......which shop is selling the GZ1000? Is it 65 inch as well?

Thank you.
*
You can still find both 55" (RM8k) and 65" (RM13k) on sellers in Lazada.

The only reason I know this is because I quite like these TV's as they have the highest stand clearance among OLED TV's.

65C9 on Goshop RM10,999.00

On Lazada Reliable seller RM6,799.00
*
Looking at past trends i.e. the C8, assuming everything else remains the same, you're looking at a price of around RM6k towards the end of the year.

So the price mentioned is quite reasonable. Around this time last year, the C8 was RM6.5k to RM7k.

thanks. now I know what price to expect. any idea what would the GZ1000 be going for around this time of the year? compared to last year's Panasonic.
*
Sorry no idea. At that time, I didn't even know that Panasonic made OLED TV's.

But I believe you can expect the price gap to be maintained across the various manufacturers at all times i.e. LG price + around RM2k = Panasonic/Sony.

the cheapest price for LG C8 55" last year was RM5799 from Desa Home Theater  drool.gif
*
Got mine at RM5,499 (11.11 Promo) from Lazada. That was a one-off case so may not be a true reflection of the price at the time.

Personally, I can vouch for Desa Home Theater (soundbar) and SevenTwentyFour (TV) as having the among the best price/service on the web.
