digital cam and photoshop die hard will insist they can do everything with photoshop, but i dont agree, cos i felt tat the outcome of films especially the feeling to it can't be replicated in photoshop.

not really worrying of the sales, digital has die hard fans and so is film lomo  rclxms.gif  thumbup.gif

You mean That special feeling of your hard earned money going down the drain? I vaguely remember it every time I get my roll of film back from the shop. biggrin.gif

p/s - Just kidding. I'm no Photochop digital die hard. Just learned to use a little bit of Gimp the last month or so. Use to process a little Kodak HIE, Tmax etc. Bought chemicals, distilled water to mix chemicals, graduated cylinders, thermometers etc. No printing though. Went cold turkey and got rehabilitated. rclxm9.gif

it's kinda true ... films arent cheap. but everytime i'll try to source for cheap films biggrin.gif
must learn from pro like u how to develop films, it must be more fun than just sending films to labs.

Aiyah!! I'm no pro la. But have developed film a couple of times. When I finally get to see the negatives, wow cool, but sometimes a lot of my shots turned out to be crap. More money down the drain. If want to do serious printing, wow ... like a black hole sucking more money. So I'm a happy digital camper. Can take as many shots as I want and can PP as many times as I want for free, that is unless my SD card go kaput. Then cry cry.gif, bye bye money. Also get to errr ... "publish" my pics in Low Yat forum. biggrin.gif

would you mind telling wat kind of "lomo" pics you expect?
there are quite a number of lomo cams out there and each with different results.

if u are expecting contrasty, saturated, reddish, blueish, yellowy pics and so on, you can achieve that by using slides and cross processed it regardless of using a lomo cam.

If you want yellowish and greenish... try Kodak EBX 100.

Fuji Velvia towards Reddish

Also make sure you take the photo under bright sunlight!

Here are my samples with different slide films:

unsure what film is this, but it's taken with long exposure a.k.a the "B" mode or "Bulb" mode hence you can see the light trails.

user posted image
this is taken with Holga cam with 120mm film. By using this camera, at times, you'll have a hard time finding the films from average shops out there and it can take only 12 or 16 pics in a roll. I think developing fee is higher too. But, with a little modification, you can also take 35mm with Holga, even with the sprocket holes. thumbup.gif

and yes, if you want greenish and yellowish pics, you can't go wrong with kodak ebx.
like philipcs said, velvia will tends to lean towards reddish most of the time but it may hav some surprises under different lightning.

by looking at the pic below, you can't see the usual reddish produce by velvia, but indeed it was taken with fuji velvia 100

agfa precisa ct100, one of my fav slide, x-pro will give a saturated blue as usual.

and do not under estimate the power of negative films, it produces beautiful natural colors

i'm not sure if we are referring to the same slides, but the slides we mentioned here is a type of film. are you referring to some kind of filters instead?

now i realized why i can't take yellowish or greenish photos because of slides...
currently im using Fujifilm Superia X-TRA 400 35mm Color Film because my daddy said higher number is better LOL

you are welcome. share with us your collection later biggrin.gif

400 is the iso number. not really higher is better, it depends on usage. normally, the lower iso tends to give a finer grain.
but using high iso gives the advantage while shooting in a darker environment becos we can then use a faster shutter speed to avoid hand shakes.

if you want kodak ebx, check out the fuji store (foto mega) at wangsa maju. i think they still have stock now selling at RM17 per roll.

Added on June 17, 2009, 9:42 pmoh by the way ... to addon, i'm not sure if using color filters will turn a pic into yellowish or greenish anot. as far as i know, those filters are use when shooting in black and white.

but do check out the lomo Colorsplash Flash or Colorsplash Camera, they should give what you expect.

Sample Pics of Colorsplash Camera
Sample Pics of Colorsplash Flash

basically, the two do the same thing by flashing colorful flash. smile.gif

Yes... I am using Holga Multi Color flash, it give you the color feel on negative also, but need to shoot close to the subject due to the weak flash.

WOW guys damn impressed!! :clap:thanks for you all advises.

I also did like zaro7, using a sun glasses as a filter and it was not so cool outcomes.

but if i want to get fisheye kinda design, I should use ISO 100 slides and take under the strong sun??
