Yeah, for the reasons you mentioned, normally patch Tuesday arrives in Malaysia on the following Wednesday.. so, it's better to check Wed morning..

However, rollout is staggered so not everyone gonna get it via Windows Update on day 1.. those with newer hardware like Surface Pro 4 have the best hope..

Good luck

Will it be readily available for download as an ISO by using the Windows Media Creation Tool on Wednesday?

You can download ISO already and use Media Creation Tool or make your own installer. Or can use Windows 10 Update Assistant now.

Better quickly grab it before the servers get busy.

Any idea whether the update is going to be incremental over Anniversary update, or it is going to be more like a full install?

Ok kewl, thanks for the heads up. I really need the ISO files. The upgrade via update is quite useless for me since i don't have blazing fast net connection at home, but i have gigabit fiber connection at the office.

If the ISO is 4GB++, you can bet its a full install. The v.1607 that i got from MS last time was around 3.6GB in size, and you can still use it to to clean install.

there are other official sources to deliver the same thing, e.g. media creation tool, msdn subscribers download, etc. the delivery modes and formats are different, so there will be differences between them (physically). one obvious one is the file install.esd (mct) and install.wim (msdn) in the iso files.

edit: there are also plenty of unofficial sources ( i have explained one of the methods before, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=84297154 ); but there is really no need to take risks since ms delivers the same thing to us officially.

in general w10 upgrades should work fine. if possible don't do in-place offline/online upgrades (even if mine was running without problems), and do a clean install. a clean install is the path with the least issues.

about 3rd party programs, maybe it's better for you to list out the stuff you use, so that owners that use same thing can give you better insights. i use development tools (visual studio community, android studio, netbeans, git, gradle, etc.), gpg2, 7zip, emet, office365, virtualbox, nox, to name some. all work fine.

it's just like previous w10, with some enhancements here and there. it's solid as usual.

uh? one is for current build 1703, and the other is for previous build 1607. ms always provides updates to all the release builds. old and new.

to be precise:

1607, 1703 are versions

14393.xxx, 15063.xxx are builds of those versions

1703 includes all the features of 1607, plus new features

the updates may differ to each version, because each has its own bugs and security issues

in fact, Microsoft released updates for all versions of Windows 10 this week

it should be; maybe some of the updates were already integrated into 1703.
