i have been making 2 shot every morning with double basket portafilter. i make one shot into latte & discard the other one short. wonder does anyone doing the same thing like me with their oscar. i only need single shot, but believe that single shot portafilter may affect the quality of shot ><
i use fresh espresso blend rm 60/500g. Lately placed order for 500g lebistro coffee. How to follow up the order? How long it takes to deliver?
*
after some call, it arrived after week n half ... lebistro

Double is better also because due to the basket design, you don't have to grind AS FINE as single basket (all else being equal). This makes it easier to dial it at the optimum section your grinder. The window of 'screw-ups' is much larger.
Your poemic is depressurized?
*
the original one lo ... i just get the machines for less than two week, which still know nothing abt it tongue.gif

Google Poemia depressurized.

Stock runs pressurized portafilters, so user has almost no influence on the quality of the produce.
*
i don't want complicated stuff ...... just home personal use, so i should use double or single basket for simple shot as i do ?
thanks

Any other reviews on this product? I am not sure about the technical spec, and the brand itself.
if not mistaken, the brand is from Taiwan? LOL not really a coffee-centric nation, but maybe they make good espreso machines?

Philips Saeco HD8323 Poemia at Harvey Normans for RM559.

You should also check out other home appliance shops such as Best Denki, AEON Jusco, etc.

One more thing: what grinder do you intend to use? I'm a Poemia user (and also classify myself as a coffee beginner) and I must admit the grinder seems to be a far more important component in your coffee kit. For example, I am still battling to get a consistent decent cup from the machine when depressurized. When pressurized I can also taste the difference between the grind that coming from my Feima/equivalent 600N and the Hario Skerton hand grinder.

No more 599 ..... sad.gif

Grinder? haven't a clue! I intend to buy the ground coffees, so no need to grind, hehe.
And you are just being humble; I know your comprehension in coffee is quite good!
Any particular reason? i mean, is it a reliability issue, or the coffee is horrible?
LOL what do you mean no more 599? The link @lowkl provided quote the price at 559, lol
*
i click on the link show 1099 leh .... wanna buy one to ut in my office, hahhaha

Is this machine meant to be used by multiple people, or primarily by yourself?

Reason being I cannot imagine a manual espresso machine in a regular office environment, with a lot of people most of whom know very little about pulling a shot AND also have no interest whatsoever to learn.

I got the go-ahead to look into a superautomatic for my office, but after doing some research, found that most end up in a state of disuse, for one reason or another. They seem to take a disproportionately large amount of maintenance, which for an office is a show-stopper.

Unfortunately the only thing that seems to make practical sense are the pod/capsule type.  Maybe the only "mod" to improve quality would be to have a grinder and fresh beans & use refillable capsules.

Is there freah bean, refill type of capsules ?

It will be great if you have a price range and type of machine u preferred. with grinder or without? what type of coffee drinker you are?
*
prices range below 2.5k smile.gif
just normal cappuccino or latter drinker. (one day 2-4 cup)
don't need grinder, as i already have
but some how prefer simple and easy type, me not those ppl willing to spend a lot of time here (or not this moment).
Reason no more poemie, already have one at home, another one at kl office, now plan to move my home poemie to pg office, so i can upgrade home unit.
thanks

I'm a Breville user myself, around the 2.5K range, perhaps can try the Breville Due Temp Pro (~RM 2.3k). Some specs taken from seattle coffee gear:

Integrated PID: Breville’s integrated electronic assistances ensures temperature stability.
Auto Purge: After steaming, the auto purge automatically adjust the temperature back to brewing.
Extra Touches: Breville excels in providing convenient features for home brewers, such as the safe-guard finger-grab on the steam wand, the magnetic tamper and razor to trim off extra grounds.
Made For Any Level: The Duo-Temp comes equipped with non-pressurized baskets for coffee lovers looking to hone their craft and pressurized baskets for beginners looking to perfect their espresso skills.
Thermocoil Heating: The stainless steel coil provides accurate control over heating water.
Traditional Style Steam Wand: The commercial-grade stainless steel wand swivels 360° to get at those hard-to-reach angles.
Pre-Infusion: Low water pressure gently infusions all the grounds to extract the most flavor from the coffee.
Spacious Water Tank: More water means less time spent on running to the faucet to replenish.
Built-In Water Filter: The water filter keeps the water soft and impurities out.

I've not used this model before, but my Breville Double Boiler has been working well  smile.gif

Nothing against the cheaper Duo-Temp but IMO the Breville double boiler 920XL is a huge step up from the Breville Duo-Temp 810 smile.gif

@SonnyCooL At that price range, plus for an office, I'd look at something like the Delonghi EC860.

actually this for my personal tongue.gif poemie will go to my small team (team of 4-6 person)
