i have been making 2 shot every morning with double basket portafilter. i make one shot into latte & discard the other one short. wonder does anyone doing the same thing like me with their oscar. i only need single shot, but believe that single shot portafilter may affect the quality of shot ><
i use fresh espresso blend rm 60/500g. Lately placed order for 500g lebistro coffee. How to follow up the order? How long it takes to deliver?

Double is better also because due to the basket design, you don't have to grind AS FINE as single basket (all else being equal). This makes it easier to dial it at the optimum section your grinder. The window of 'screw-ups' is much larger.

One more thing: what grinder do you intend to use? I'm a Poemia user (and also classify myself as a coffee beginner) and I must admit the grinder seems to be a far more important component in your coffee kit. For example, I am still battling to get a consistent decent cup from the machine when depressurized. When pressurized I can also taste the difference between the grind that coming from my Feima/equivalent 600N and the Hario Skerton hand grinder.

Grinder? haven't a clue! I intend to buy the ground coffees, so no need to grind, hehe.
And you are just being humble; I know your comprehension in coffee is quite good!

Reason being I cannot imagine a manual espresso machine in a regular office environment, with a lot of people most of whom know very little about pulling a shot AND also have no interest whatsoever to learn.

I got the go-ahead to look into a superautomatic for my office, but after doing some research, found that most end up in a state of disuse, for one reason or another. They seem to take a disproportionately large amount of maintenance, which for an office is a show-stopper.

Unfortunately the only thing that seems to make practical sense are the pod/capsule type.  Maybe the only "mod" to improve quality would be to have a grinder and fresh beans & use refillable capsules.

It will be great if you have a price range and type of machine u preferred. with grinder or without? what type of coffee drinker you are?

Nothing against the cheaper Duo-Temp but IMO the Breville double boiler 920XL is a huge step up from the Breville Duo-Temp 810

@SonnyCooL At that price range, plus for an office, I'd look at something like the Delonghi EC860.
