QUOTE(plue_fc @ Aug 23 2016, 10:40 AM) Hi guys, Redmi 3 Pro user here and having problem with the phone GPS. When I open GPS based apps like Google Map, Pokemon Go, etc there is always notification "searching for GPS" and the apps having problem to lock my location. Previously on EU rom and now just flash to Global rom, but the problem still persist. Tried enable high accuracy, allow permission and such but still not solving this issue. Any idea how to solve this issue? How can I check if this is hardware problem? Thanks. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...psstatus2&hl=enInstall this app and check how many satellite you're connected. Allow the app to run for about 1 minute. If it's less than 3 then it's something wrong with your phone. This post has been edited by zher4883: Aug 23 2016, 11:53 AM

Seems the apps keep on looking for GPS location. Checked the sensor and seems to have problem with proximity, do it affect GPS? GPS sensor is okay though. Attached thumbnail(s)

From that 0/16, it shows your phone are able to find 16 satellite but unable to connect to any of it. From the stats, I can confirm indeed it's a hardware malfunction. Flashing ROM will not fix this problem. I'd similar problem on Redmi 3 and I just sold it off and bought Redmi Note 3 Pro. For certain reason, I found that Redmi 3 and Redmi 3S had poorer quality than Redmi Note 3 Pro. This post has been edited by zher4883: Aug 23 2016, 03:05 PM

Just bought this phone two months ago. Do flashing rom void warranty by the way?

If you manage to flash back to the ROM they provided, they can't tell you had flashed anything on the phone. Anyway flashing any ROM wouldn't solve this problem.

If you have GPS issue, please reset your GPS data. A ROM re-flash will NOT reset, coz the GPS data is stored on the GPS chip itself. You need to download software to reset and re-acquire the GPS and your problem can be fixed. Re-acquire the signal takes anywhere up to few minutes. After which, your GPS will work normal. This typically happens to AP phone, since the phone has non-MY signal in the first place. A simple reset, clear and re-acquire will do.
