But now I know why. You guys who has the same problem as me should just put the ROM folder (after you extracted the zip) into the rood directory of your PC. Only then the MiFlash can actually find the ROM.

No, it's not a common mistake as this is the first time that folder placement (other then at the root) ever becoming an issue in my many years of flashing. More like a flashing tools shortcomings, if you ask me.

Btw, this is indeed my first time flashing (and owning) a Xiaomi phone.

Where did you get yours? I got mine from Directd and it was full of crapware. Did the flash for the latest version of MIUI + GApps (now with more free RAM) and has been a satisfied owner ever since.

I'd rather go for the current Redmi 3 simply because of the bigger battery. Trust me, you don't want to go for a 3000mAh battery once you had a taste of 4100mAh.

But the easiest way is to flash the latest Chinese MIUI that comes with GApps and prerooted (prepared by some good samaritans in the forum). That way you don't have to do anything other than flashing the phone.

Btw, I could give you the link if you like. But don't just download the ROM, do register as a member of the forum and say thanks to the good person. That's the least we can do.

Sorry for that, maybe I wasn't made myself clear. It was a vanilla Chinese MIUI for Redmi 3. But the guy was kind enough to remove some purely Chinese apps and at the same time add the GApps and made it prerooted.

But smaller battery. 3000mAh vs 4100mAh. I'd rather go for a bigger battery any day of the week.

But fast charging causing higher battery temperature throughout. The higher the temperature, to worst it is for your battery.

Could you comment a little bit more on that.

AFAIK, so far there is no such thing as a global ROM for Redmi 3.
