Hi feifeikon,

There's 3 compartment pulled out there, 2 drawers and what's the other vertical one called? What is it used for?

The vertical drawer is fit with bottle basket.
Designed to put some bottles like tomato source, cooking oil...etc

Very practical design.

Many peoples like this~ laugh.gif

IMO, the design is practical if you have another basket to but the bottles or the whole row of drawer is completed occupied by bottles.
Imagine if only got 2-3 bottles, when the drawer moving in and out, for sure the thin-shaped bottle will collapse.

hi.. would like to ask whether my carpentry quotation is reasonable..

Kitchen
1. supply & install 22ft kitchen base cabinet with laminate door
2. supply & install 13.5ft hanging cabinet with laminate door (30 inch)
3. 3ft std height fridge cabinet with laminate door
4. 22ft quartz stone top
5. 2.5ft tall unit cabinet
6. 10.5ft partition to divide kitchen and dining area
7. 4.5ft aluminium sliding door

all these are solid plywood with laminate.. then total price of these all items are 47k.. just wonder what is the market price now and anything i could cut to reduce it to around 35k? remove hanging cabinet and replace with shelves rack?

22ft of kitchen base cabinet which including around 5ft of cabinet for washing machine.. if i remove this part base + top, likely how much i can save from here?

the price reasonable , do you request using solid plywood laminate ?
I suggest you using chipboard door and carcase
and aluminium carcase for sink ,
design remain then will suit your budget . rclxms.gif

thanks.. in the end i remain it and reduce few ft of top hanging cabinet.. reason is that i have 2 windows and ori plan is to close off 1 of it.. but now i want to keep the windows and reduce 3k on it.. LOL

hmm.. ultimately if add accessories & sink, around 50k there.. renovation nowadays are so expensive..

yes it is solid plywood laminate.. i used melamine before, so never again.. in fact i plan to use 4G glass with aluminium, but might not suit to my home design and afraid glass break in future.. just have to be careful on water nearby sink there.. other than this ID, most of others are using melamine or half aluminium.. full aluminium is really expensive and not much of design.. reputable ID will use E1 board with melamine.. solid but just afraid about melamine.. in the end i proceed with plywood as both are reputable ID at my area.. plywood one more worth in my opinion when compared to another one with E1 board..

Would like to check a very rough carpentry quotation if it's reasonable, for a 10ft high ceiling property:

1) 2.5ft wide floor-to-ceiling shoe cabinet, melamine ABS, white carcass, soft close hinges - RM3.7k
2) 9ft wide floor-to-ceiling swing door wardrobe, melamine ABS, white carcass, soft close hinges - RM10.9k

Right now to me it's a bit "designer" pricing, but I'm not updated on KL market rate for past two years.

Hmm in Penang I could get 13k for 16ft L shape full height melamine wardrobe with dark glass swing door. If not glass, reduce 1k.

Shoes cabinet could get better price too.

Ya that's what I expected, but I'm not KL-lite, so no real reference for pricing.

Supposedly "high quality" melamine but I suspect they overquote based on highest spec (to test water), I'll see what the detail quote is and where the costs are from 😂

potentially your ID/vendor use E1 board.. if E1 board definitely higher price.. close to plywood price in my view based on multiple quotation that i have obtained.. you could ask them or try out other vendor and see.. in the end i picked plywood although people said plywood have heavier formaldehyde than melamine..

cause the price i got from ID are nearly identical and 1 of vendor use E1 board is more expensive than plywood.. one of cheapest (i did used their built-in furniture before), quality wise all good.. just they only handle carpentry works and dont cover others like wiring, wet works, ceiling.. so in the end i pay extra for plywood carpentry with ID inside.. but eventually future kid's bedroom and other area i could use carpentry works only.. but totally new house, i pass it to ID firm handle everything for me first..

That's true. Probably E1 melamine, explains the cost jump compared to basic melamine. Looks like I have to wait to see their samples of both the doors and carcass first before I'm sure....I also hire ID because I don't have time to manage individual contractors, so there may be some mark up involved 😔

thanks for the suggestions and explanation.

This drawer is quite heavy, especially 4G door or nyatoh door.
When u pull out, it move slow and smooth.
This is for those like to seperate their things into categories.
As what I see normally cabinet is always full with a lot of things.
So far never heard people complaint about this. biggrin.gif
There is steel basket together with the drawer, so no need to put another basket.
Or another way is use swing door but fix the bottle basket inside cabinet.

I had PM u. Thanks!

Some peoples PM me and asked about the different between granite and quartz stone.

Granite Counters
Granite is the countertop material of choice and it becomes more widespread nowadays. The beauty of the stone contributes to the beauty of even the most modest kitchen.

Pros: holds up to heat; comes in a range of almost 3000 colors; looks permanent and substantial; will last a lifetime; new sealers are almost maintenance-free; 2nd highest hardness rating after diamonds; has a high value to home buyers.

Cons: expensive, but becoming more affordable; requires some maintenance; some stones absorbs stains if not sealed; knives can become dull if you cut on it; can crack if stressed or improperly installed.

Quartzstone
Because quartzstone counters are made with 80% raw material and 20 % fiber,
not easy scratch and cool surface

Pros: comes in many colors and patterns; seamless; stain resistant.

Cons: vulnerable to hot pans and stains which can damage the surface; can be moderately expensive.

The price direct from factory is not much different with quartz stone.

Hope this info can help u to make a choice. biggrin.gif
