to be honest, i feel owning an Android device since their release for 2 years is the best, since OEM will stop delivering security patches after 2 years.

Yes true also.. U no idea when new flagship is coming?atleast i can prepare earlier..lol
so you decided to jump ship? i also got myself a Note 8 but I haven't collect it yet; still waiting for my credit card.
It's belong to my friend.. Haha.. Today is collect day.. So just now meet up and try do a quick comparison on camera feature and learn s pen feature.
The size is huge, slightly wider but is okay. The length is taller and both of us are agreed that the fingerprint sensor is quite hard to reach.. So he is doing eye unlock..
Still not going to jump ship although samsung have powerful OIS to backup their camera.. But overall i still prefer sony output which is more naturaal.. Samsung tend to warm up the white balance.. But overall constrast, Saturation is tend to people liking for social purposes..

I will wait for sony's OIS flagship.
I'm pretty sure Sony won't include OIS on their smartphones, unless they've implement it on their Compact Point-And-Shoot RX100 series first.
The RX100V does have OIS. It is just not listed in the specs sheet.
Ooo, then it probably would be available after a few generations. The super-slowmotion was introduced on the RX100IV last time, and now it's available on the XZs. So, maybe the XZ1s?

got la.. but that RX100 series which have 1 inch sensor.. compare with 1/2.3inch sensor in smartphone, even dont have OIS also can get better photos in lowlight.. I'm quite impressed with RX100 series.. but if want play interchangeable lens, may go for LUMIX GX series also.. four third sensor with touchscreen for some models..
overall, im not really impressed with existing smartphone camera but they are sufficient for daily usage.. if really want to get great output, DSLR/camera point & shoot still are better in the end..
even latest note 8, it's really powerful in details, structure & autofocus from smartphone perspective.. but sensor size for smartphone still is a limitation..
any smartphone can get close to 1inch sensor then its better.. Sony have bionz processor which will process all the photos and cause it looks grainy instead of sharpness like others.. but one good things of this Bionz processor and SOny proud of it is it useful in super lowlight.. it can calculate and try to recover the image looks..
i dont have side by side comparison here, but try to take xperia camera vs other camera and capture under table lowlight scene.. then you will find out what i mean..

I see, maybe it's a limited OIS because the new A6500 above have mentioned its 5-axis OIS as one of the bigger selling point of the model if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, I also wonder why they didn't try to push for bigger pixels. I know it'll reduce the megapixel count and increase depth of the phone, but in the age where reviews always compare between captured images between smartphones, I do think it's one way to gain attention (with better image quality overall).
