It would be great if Sony continue its premium line. Hopefully Sony will adopt dual flagship line like Samsung has s series and note series... If there's upcoming xz1 premium, I think Sony will release it in 6 months, not till 1 year. According to Sony history, Sony like to release new phone almost every 6 months..

I am not in a rush, xz premium would be a bargain but xz1 premium will ship with oreo so I expect support to last a bit longer expecting it to be released around first or second quarter of next year.

Hopefully Sony will continue its premium line. Not like z5 premium has been existing in the market for so long before xz premium come out...

I agree but support for z5 premium has been quite good, always getting updates

can't wait to return this note5 to me partner
(i don't understand why it is so laggy considering it reseted the device a month ago, and it is of the same gen as my dead z5.... my z5 was so much smoother though super hot after the last nougat update)

maybe some apps running at background and hogging the usage.. different phone will have different behaviour.. so far, tend to compare the display of note 5 vs z5p, note 5 definitely yellowish.. seems like blue LED in AMOLED is slightly weaker compare with newly launched time.

i will wait compare with s7e in future.. note 5 and z5p consider almost same period.. just within 2 years only..

found a deal on xz p before this,
but didn't go for it because it is roughly the same size as this note 5

yeah.. i feel 5.5inch a bit big for me. in addition, xperia phone have its bezel.. early of year i bought huawei p9 for my gf, 5.2inch and i found the size is nice to hold.. as first, thought mate 9 or p9+ for bigger storage&ram, but gf prefer smaller size, so get p9..

future i will go for around 5inch size as well.. i did try to hold s8.. almost same size like z5p with 5.8inch.. same feeling..

bezel in xperia good in watching movie, at least my thumb can place on it and come with stereo speaker.. quite good.. hopefully XZ1 really have 50% louder than previous model.. but i'll look forward for XZ2 or XZ1 Premium in year 2018.. this year i will focus more on my house reno & furniture..

z5p still strong enough for me.. cause not much handling heavy task. mainly focus on social media apps.. camera im quite familiar with xperia camera behaviour so i can get good output.. no choice, no money so only persuade myself like this.

i would have hold and get a xz1 next year too (the price drop would have made the phone worth the price more), if my z5 didn't just died.......
yea, it is still kinda capable despite the heating issues
it's sad Sony (possibly) do not have the resource to bring it up to oreo because it involves a lot of work from them porting stuff to the new kernel version (yea nexus 6p got it ....)
about the 50% louder thing I am not sure about it, the product page only says 50% more sound pressure



There must be a reason they don't describe it as 50% louder to everyday person like us.
