hi all. while i was messing with the z5 the other day, i noticed that photos taken are extremely blurr on the left side. i mean i can easily notice the left side of the photos is not those normal type of blurr but looks like abnormal kind of blurr. is it normal for z5 camera to produce photos like that?
*
It is normal. The lens is too wide but then normally can be corrected in software. Unfortunately Sony didn't corrected it.

wow... that's not good. then there's no point having such wide lens right? if not corrected by software, i see that part is basically crap and unusable. it really ruins the whole photo

Only option is to shoot in 4:3 ratio but then square photos not my favorite. I would personally prefer it in 3:2 or 16:9

i see. so if 4:3 don't have this problem, i guess it's better than having a blurred side photo. i too prefer 16:9...

have u feedback to sony on this problem? i see this as quite a big flaw

I can't save them already. It's like that since Z2 (not sure about Z1)
2 years of updates but that barely helps.

Edit : I only able to find Sony's phones to use as a phone but the camera is decent only. After i got myself an A6000, i hardly wanna shoot with phones already.

Yes, also I'm a current user of Z2 as well. alas after my company phone spoilt (a Z) last year, I got myself an obligatory upgrade to Z2. I noticed when snapping documents, the edges are at the blur side.

But then, my Z2 serves well as a Youtube camcorder. Two of my videos were done handheld.

i usually use cam scanner if i need to capture document in clearer form.

on my z1, the edge is not sharp, which i think is normal as it's not the focus point. but definitely not blurr out like in the z5. guess the only "solution" is to use 4:3 form factor then

aiseh... wish to retire my z1 but seems like sony don't have any real successor this year for me to upgrade. hope they will have some interesting release this coming IFA

it is a known problem (a manufacturing defect), and sony isn't really ready to acknowledge that

affects whole z5 series

got my Z5C update last week while i was oversea. all the time me waiting, only got it when i travel.

functionality wise, my camera work better now. I was complaining how post processing is taking way too long. After the update, i can see its faster now. still behind the Samsung. good job improving Sony but you are still some way to go to be top dog.

visually, icon change and GDP move 01% up.

some of the thing i find annoying is the search bar in the apps drawer. i only got 3 tab page. i dun nid to search and i can't turn it off.

question here....

does the Xperia support call or number blocking? Uses OnePlus 1 previously and the call/phone apps have the function to block contact or number.

can't find the function in my Z5C.

u can try some apps that measure the ampere going into your phone. you can agak2 from there if you are getting enough juice. swap charger and cable to test.
