Hi guys, I'm looking at Asus k501ub at rm3299 with another extra 8GB ram upgrade.
Will be doing coding, some gaming (dota 2, csgo, diablo 3, maple), some video editing. Would be great if it can be between 2kg - 2.5kg. Is there any other recommendations around this price? Can go up to 3.5k or if specs are really good I'm open to suggestions as well, under 4k. I keep seeing dell 7559 come up. Would it be smarter to get older generation of processor at better prices for better performance and better gpu? Asus k501ub only has two cores and nvidia 940m. Also does anyone know if the Asus k501 has an extra m.2 slot? The shops keep telling me there isn't any more slots to add storage but on Asus global it shows that m.2 ssds are available but malaysia version is only available with 1TB hdd. Would like to buy an ssd and install it myself if an m.2 slot is available. |

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Apr 10 2016, 10:52 AM) U means the i7? Aftersales n reliability of coz Dell win by miles... Y700 bigger screen but weight bout the same becoz thinner casing... not the Y700. apparently there's a new model just called lenovo ideapad 700. i7 6700HQ, GTX950, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 500GB HDD with Win10, around the same price as the 7559 DOS version.U can consider rog gl 552 vw.. slimline version and is lighter than 7559 too...that's what i was told. ideapad 700 specs just slightly lose out to dell 7559 since 7559 it comes with GTX960. |

QUOTE(myway1985 @ Apr 10 2016, 12:59 PM) LOL...cute analogy. I'm well aware of the differences in 950m v 960m. But I am willing to tradeoff since I do not game a lot. for now, the ideapad 700's better processor, SSD, lighter weight(claimed) plus cheaper price edges it slightly for me over 7559. it's still a close fight between these two. just need to wait for more reports and reviews of this new ideapad 700. i haven't seen one physically either. maybe gonna head to digital mall later to have a look. |

Hello~
I am looking for a PC, maybe a notebook or a PC all-in-one. 1. Preferred Brand >As currently I am using a HP laptop (i5 4th Gen), but I am still open on other brands. 2. Budget >I am a student, thus my budget will be around RM 3k. Can also (if possible) include a price breakdown for me, for example: Laptop - RM 2xxx Microsoft Office - RM 2xx Antivirus - RM 3x 3. Usage >Thus, my usage mostly consisting of light coding(I am a programmer), web surfing, a bit of gaming, mostly light games, thus a graphic card(prefer Nvidia) is required, but a minimum specs one will do. I also prefer to bring my laptop here and there, as I don't wanna move data from drive to drive often, thus a light laptop is required. 4. Preferred laptop/screen size a) Screen size : Preferred 14 inches, but I am open on a lower screen size. b) Ram: I also preferred a ddr4 ram of 4gb or maybe 8gb. c) ROM: I don't use much space, around 500GB is enough, ssd storage drive is welcome. d) CPU: I am not that clear enough on the differences for each CPU, thus maybe suggesting a suitable one would be cool! e) GPU: As stated, a minimum graphic card of 1gb or 2gb would be cool(Prefer Nvidia). f) Wifi: WIFI 802.11ac g) DVD drive: External or internal is recommended h) Weight: Around 1-2 kg is okay. Other than that, I would like to know where are places recommended to buy those laptops stated from you. Thanks in advance! Regards, AJ EDIT #1: Updated on some informations This post has been edited by GreyMT: Apr 10 2016, 10:03 PM |
