that little teeny-tiny button there is used to swap between "favour bandwidth" and "favour ping" mode.
when the light is on [normally green to yellowish], it means favour ping. when the light is off [transparent], it means favour bandwidth. ok, you probably will ask "when to favour bandwidth and when to favour ping?" if you really wanna ask, that proves you didnt read through this thread aka lazy.... anyway, just favour ping when you want to play online games or any other activity that needs the ping to be stable with minimum spikes. when you wanna download , you favour bandwidth. easier term, favour ping when you play games like DotA , favour bandwidth otherwise. |

Hello, After using this software for a few days, I am experiencing a problem in ping.
CCffoosspeed always popup a message saying that "The ping Packets send by CCfoosSpeed doesn't seem to come through" When I click on the message, It gives me a few instructions such as configuring the firewall, Tracert to their website etc. I have done all the steps but have no success. I can't tracert to the website. Everytime I try to tracert, I get a message saying "*** Request time out". Any idea on how to solve this problems? |

QUOTE(cornelius_young @ Oct 11 2007, 07:43 PM) Hello, After using this software for a few days, I am experiencing a problem in ping. your problem is due to the ICMP settings in the router or modem. you can follow instructions given in the cfosspeed website or you can choose to ignore it.CCffoosspeed always popup a message saying that "The ping Packets send by CCfoosSpeed doesn't seem to come through" When I click on the message, It gives me a few instructions such as configuring the firewall, Tracert to their website etc. I have done all the steps but have no success. I can't tracert to the website. Everytime I try to tracert, I get a message saying "*** Request time out". Any idea on how to solve this problems? if you choose to ignore it, you will still get some optimization but not as good as the complete ones. the difference is not that noticable though, so , it is up to you wether you want to edit the settings in the router or leave it as it is. |
