Normally I buy 2 dvds per month...average price per dvd= RM 59.90. sweat.gif

I can't imagine those ppl playing blu-ray/hd-dvd have to pay out more than hundred bucks per title.. sweat.gif  sweat.gif

Even if I manage to buy the HD hardware, the software alone will kill me now.. doh.gif
So I have to stay into DVD world for few more years ...cannot afford to go into HD world yet. cry.gif

That's true. Actually, even RM50 kills me. I mean that is like 5% of my salary. whistling.gif whistling.gif

99% of ahem is D5 on D9 disc. But i dun think they cheat coz they only sell at D5 ahem disc and they told yu straight away it's D5 on D9. Just put into your PC and you can see most of them around 2G+ to 4GB only. Most D9 will exeed the D5 storage barrier. I think i only have 1 ahem (X-MEN 2) that's truly D9..over 6GB of data. thumbup.gif

Also i believe local ori DVDs(except crap titles nobody wants) are mostly D5 right? Only those imported ones has a full DTS soundtrack and D9 disc.

Ha! Ha! That's when you all kena la. I know we hardly can find any real D9 nowadays. But it is not impossible.
China is producing D9s. They copy straight from all the original DVDs.

The main problem is, you usually won't get the latest titles so fast. No Transformers yet as to date.
So, you have 3 choices, wait for the ahem China or fork out more for an Ori or watch a D5.

Where to get the China D9s? Well, some ahem shops (not kaki lima) around PJ do carry this. Saw a lot in Amcorp mall. Selling at RM15 each.

Oh yeah... another kick back... most of the new titles do not have DTS only Dolby Digital...
And French or Russian or Japanese. He! He! That's where they get their sources.

I get what you mean, RM59.90 still ain't cheap considering the rise in cost of living nowadays. It's hard to convince people to fork out RM59.90 for an original dvd these days unless it's a super duper good movie.
There are ahem D9 dvds that exceed the 5GB barrier but giving you D5 picture quality. Very easy, throw in tons of trailers, rubbish music videos and there you have it, 7GB of space, you might be fooled that it's a D9 movie but the extra space has been filled up with these rubbish materials, the actual movie itself is just a D5 movie which has been compressed. You'll see artifacts on the movie itself. A fine example is the movie 28 Weeks Later. I bought the original copy instead.
Yup, you're right and furthermore, uncensored pulak. Finas has finally tired of censoring movies nowadays.  rclxm9.gif
That's true and if not, we always go for used blu-ray movies. My friend bought a used copy of Spider-Man 3 blu-ray at RM80, that's even cheaper than the original dvd sold in Malaysia. Value for money in my opinion.
Wah, what did Sony do to you? Don't forget that the PS3 sells cheaper than the XBOX 360 and the blu-ray playback is an additional bonus. If you have played games like Unreal Tournament III and Resistance Fall Of Man on the PS3, the extra space is indeed useful and game developers can use the extra space for some sweet PCM 7.1 sound. If not, a game like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on the XBOX 360 will span from 3 to 4 dual layered dvds but with blu-ray, one disc is all that you need. The extra space is useful here especially when you're talking about lengthy next gen games like RPGs.

You don't need a full HD panel to enjoy blu-ray movies, a normal widescreen computer monitor with 1:1 pixel mapping is already enough to see the difference at 720p.

Lastly, there's nothing with the design, it looks sexy what. I'm sure Bro rx330 will agree with me. The PS3 looks futuristic, the XBOX 360 is an oddball looking console.

Your 28 Days Later ahem disc where u got it from? The usual ones or the China bring in one?

Anyway, for me, its quite particular especially when u watch on big screen. Any change can tell.

Yeah... not all are good disc.
The problem is, I bought Hannibal Rising from Speedy Video. It sucks BIG time. From then on, I'd rather risk on China's ahem than go Speedy to buy.

As for buying from Amazon or Ebay, the shipping kills me. And never know a BD can just cot RM60. Sure? So cheap meh? A new normal DVD already cost around USD20++ Cheapest on offer one also around USD14.95. So, how to get RM60 inclusive of shipping for BD?

Eh... if got jalan ah... RX330, do show the lead la.. brows.gif brows.gif

PS3 has most RPG??  doh.gif But any worth playing?? PSX is best. PS2 was ok. But PS3 has not much RPG to shout about. Look let's drop the PS3 talk here. Anyway. I've given up gaming long time ago, i'm not interested in PS3,XBOX,WII or whatever now. If you wanna talk about that, go to console forum. Stick to topic please.
