Hi, still new to this air miles thingy.

May I know if I got Asia Miles,

1, Is it I can redeem for any partner airlines, such as Qatar Airways or Malaysia Airlines?

2, Redeem though Air miles web site? Or through airlines web site?
*
1. Yes, but surcharge varies.

2. CX, BA, QA and 1-2 more airlines can redeem thru Asiamiles online websites. Others airlines need to fill up online form or call CS directly.

tat's mean better book before 24 Jan ?
Coz i dunno how to read the chart rclxub.gif
*
Just straight go to the 2nd chart for One-Way Saver Awards

For MY/SG, we are Zone 1 and 2 - usually similar miles required

Then look at your destination.

For example, Zone 7 for Japan and Zone 11 for Europe. That's the miles required to fly one-way

For return flight under One-Saver, you get a complimentary stopover

Means they might as well let it unoccupied and left it empty?
*
It depends. Airlines do upgrade passengers to Business, especially from Premium Economy.

I was on a business trip to US once, flying Cathay via HK. Was flying Premium Economy, and then got upgraded to Business class at the boarding gate. Maybe because I'm at the first row of Premium Economy and my ticket was booked together with my friend (who is flying Business).

On the other hand, I flew MH Business to Mumbai, India once and the cabin has few empty seats

Thanks. So I tried to search Business class via Qatar Airways to New York, but it's all sold out even 1 year later.

It's not available for redemption ya?
*
I suppose so. It's a very popular route afterall.

KUL-Doha have plenty of availability, but Doha-JFK is the 1 fully-booked usually. Your next option is to book Japan Airlines perhaps, or stick to Cathay Pacific innocent.gif

Which route ?
*
Should be all their medium hall route. From Flyertalk forum.

All Medium partner awards:

Y: 25,000AM --> 27,000AM (+2,000AM)
PE: 35,000AM --> 43,000AM (+8,000AM)
J: 50,000AM --> 61,000AM (+11,000AM)
F: 75,000AM --> 87,000AM (+12,000AM)

I was looking at PRG-DOH-MLE route. It was still 50k last week when I checked.

My KUL-DOH-BUD remains the same at 70k miles.

Now i'm short of some miles to redeem SQ back to KUL. lol

Anyone can share what are the best value or must-try routes for AM redemption, J class as of now in 2019?

Any airline also ok.

Thanks smile.gif
*
Their medium haul flight miles requirement was devalued recently. If not, 50k miles (now 61k miles) for one-way J class KUL-Tokyo on Japan Airlines is quite good value

Thankfully, they haven't revised the Multi-carrier Award redemption. My upcoming honeymoon trip in April 2020

KUL-DOH-BUD - Qatar Airways
PRG-DOH-MLE - Qatar Airways
MLE-CMB-KUL - Sri Lankan Airlines

All for 135k miles + roughly RM3k++ in taxes/surcharges

Looks good with many locations covered, are your Qatar flights Qsuite?

KUL-DOH and DOH-MLE legs are Qsuites route. But whether u get it depends on luck i guess. QR is famous for its equipment change

May I know how do you redeem this kind of multi-carrier reward tix?
Doing it in CX website?
*
This 1 have to call the CS.

CX or Asiamiles online redemption only can handle up to 4 cities.

Plus I have 3 transits (more than 2 allowed), so I need to make special ‘arrangement’ to ticket one of the transits as stopover

Shi* just realised AM devaluation...
Was saving up for next year J return with JAL...
11k increase 1 way is more than 20%!
*
QUOTE(charlesj @ Oct 10 2019, 10:23 PM)
Devaluation only for partner airline with medium distance.
You can still fly with Cathay without miles increase.
*
or do Multi-Carrier Award

which router or flight to/from?
*
Mostly medium haul flights

for my case, PRG-MLE miles got bumped from 50k to 61k if i book separately

I saw some tips and tricks that highlight 1 particular sweet spot for Asiamiles - 50k miles for Vancouver-Tokyo. maybe it's because of this? lol

Need some help on redemption for next Aug from KUL to LHR.
At the moment, I've approximately 700k points on M2Card Plat and 10,000 EM. Should reach about 1M points on M2Card Plat by Jan/Feb next year.

What's the best way to get on a premium economy/business class flight?
*
Redeem Asiamiles and use 135-140k miles to redeem Qatar or British Airways. But prepare to pay cash for surchages

Calling Asiamiles MY toll-free hotline is way better than asking their online chat for help/clarification. Finally did redemption for my trip next year
