Initially my gf reluctant to take SriLankan Air as she doesn't want to transit in Colombo because of the recent bombing. But then i managed to persuade her and it helps me to save miles

The online system only can input not more than 4 cities. And also I actually got 3 transits (more than the allowed 2), hence I need to ticket one of the transit as stopover. So yeah, need to call. There is a MY toll-free hotline, 24/7 and is operated by call-center in India I presume

And yes, just search for availability on Asiamiles or Cathay websites and jot down the dates and flight number. It will make the redemption process easier. Took me just about 30mins

For my trip - 135k miles under OneWorld Multi-carrier Award. Surcharges and taxes total is HKD6822/pax (I searched all the legs in one-way also come up to HKD5413). You can actually check the miles required using the Multi-City tab at https://www.asiamiles.com/en/afr.html

If individual one-way, the miles are 70k for KUL-DOH-BUD, 61k (devalued from 50k) for PRG-DOH-MLE, and 30k for MLE-CMB-KUL.

For Asiamiles, there are 2 choices - QR via Doha, or BA via London - both require 70k miles one-way on Business.

For Krisflyers, you can fly out KL on their partner (Turkish Airlines) - one-way is about 92k miles + about RM1k in taxes

Last Monday. Call to the MY hotline and you and the agent can work through the flights 1-by-1. Once everything ok, they will put the seats on hold and issue u a booking reference. 1-2 days later, the ticketing team will call you to ask for CC details for payment. After paid, then everything is confirmed.

Actually, once the CS give you a booking reference, it will appear in your Asiamiles account. I notice there's option to issue ticket and pay the surcharges online, but didn't try it.

Yea it is a nice combo. Historical Eastern Europe + romantic beach gateaway. Not too good for the wallet though !!
