hi guys, if I have around 1m treat points from 2 card premier and another 200k KF miles, which airline and FFP I should look for if I want to redeem 2 round trip first class to New York, up to one year booking ahead is fine for me, of course earlier is better, thanks for help.

1m treat points assuming you have the Maybank Premiere is around 210k miles in Enrich/Krisflyer/Asia Miles

Off the top of my head, a return trip to NYC in first is roughly 220-240k, you'll have to check the respective airline charts for details.

SQ Suites is notoriously hard to get but definitely doable a year out.
CX First is my personal favorite, but their one way will cost more than return.
Etihad/Qatar/Japan/Lufthansa First are all open if you book either oneworld or using star alliance charts of the respective airlines above. I know Etihad availability is decent a year out, not sure about the others as I've never tried them before that far out.

Don't forget YQ fees which can be exorbitant.
*
Thanks for your explain, seems like CX only release one award first in advance.
For eitihad, is it we need to convert the point to enrich/ Asia miles and then call the enrich/AM ask for partner award redemption?

They did not request enrich account number from me when I apply for the card, so is it too late to give them the account number? and how to give them?

If principle card holder can use the air miles to purchase flight ticket for others? or only the card holder?
*
Never been to late, when u request transfer they will ask for your FFP info.

Try Krisflyer as i'm seeing cheaper redemption rates & lower fees as compared to Asiamiles CX. you can use other star alliance carriers too if SQ schedule is not available. EVA or Lufthansa are two other alternatives. Problem is u need to search the availability yourself and call in to krisflyer for redemption.
*
If Eva site show award available doesn't means it will available with krisflyer rite?

For what they are requiring now for their A330 J product to MEL one can fly SQ First Class.

It's not even funny.

Actually I feel like sq j product is better than mh f product

I won't go that far.. SQ J product is just wide. All other aspects, especially the foot cubby is bad if you ask me. MH's J product on the A380 trumps that of SQ's (non-bulkhead) J, IMHO.

My point was for around 160k miles flying to Melbourne, I will take SQ First Class anytime over MH's A330 J. It also goes to show just how out of touch/head in sand MH's management is.
*
But how many a380 left for mas ?

Hi guys, I am new to Krisflyer, having just joined in 2016. Due to their infamous redemption seats unavailability (from what I learned here), is it possible to book way in advance without the full points required? This will allow me to accumulate over the next months and will make a lot of difference. Thanks for your advice sifus!
*
Don't think so, they maximum hold your ticket for one or two weeks for you to transfer point from partner, after that they will release the seat for others

which means that the booking must be done thru their call centre? Any advantage in doing it online? Will there be a discount in points for online redemption?
*
If you want on hold ticket, need to go though call centre, usually they will hold one week. No discount for online redemption, so basically it is the same.

Hi, if I exchange my CC point to more than 50,000 Kris flyer miles will I get upgraded to Kris Flyer Elite Gold status? and in the future, if I book economy flight with Singapore Airline or Star Alliance airline can I enjoy lounge access?
*
No, point from cc point will not earn towards airline status, so no lounge access with economy

Spent two days finally finished scrolling from page 1 to page 59. Had a lot of valuable info from the informative input from the members here, you know who you are. You guys are really patient in answering some of the questions that have been asked repeatedly, and the replies given are short but straight to the point, which makes people like me who scrolled from page 1 having an easier time.

Anyway, here comes the question. I'll try to be as specific as possible, so bear with me for the longer post.

How should I accumulate miles (enrich, asia miles or kris flyer) in the fastest way?

I plan to redeem it for biz class seats to Europe (most likely London as it is the main gateway to Europe, but can go to Spain/France as well before going to London. Don't mind Economy seats for flights within Europe, but biz class for long haul) for me and my wife in 4-5 yrs time due to points expiry (i.e. drag till 3 yrs for maybank TP before convert to miles, which can drag for another 3 yrs)

Currently what I do to accumulate miles:

1. I have Maybank 2 cards Platinum, which the good thing is there's no annual fee, bad thing is the treat points conversion to Enrich/Asia Miles is 100% higher than Reserve. So for now whatever spendings that receive Amex, I'll try to charge it to the Amex to take advantage of the 5x points. And currently still not qualified yet to upgrade to Premier/Reserve, but even if I qualify, is it worth it with the hefty annual fee? Is it waivable? It would be hard to spend RM80,000 on it per year to have it waived, as Amex is not that widely accepted.

2. Cards I owned: Ambank Signature Visa (For PPL but seems like not useful anymore due to recent T&C update), Hong Leong Sutera (good for weekend spending for govt bills etc, share more below since I've not seen it being mentioned), Maybank 2 cards Platinum, and a few other basic cards not worth mentioning back in the days I got it when I just started working. Nowadays just leave it there as all of them are free for life. So just taking advantage of the credit limits of those cards.

3. Due to my low frequency of flying, earning miles through flying is not really feasible, plus mostly flying domestic with airasia or MH whichever cheaper and suits my time. So the miles has to come from credit cards and other places.

So what I've learned is that KF doesn't suit me since it is always on wait list and I couldn't really go for a 2-3 weeks holiday without few months of proper planning for my work, and Enrich has been devalued to the extent that it is quite useless, and AM delivers good value just need time on the phone for the booking on multiple carriers flight.

So hope all sifus can give some advice on what I should do to accelerate my miles accrual to redeem two biz class seats to Europe. Thanks in advance.
Note: So regarding the Hong Leong Sutera Platinum Card, their point rewards are not so good except for weekend spending which is x3, which applies to all spending. So normally I will use it to pay those quit rents, assessment, govt bills etc on a Saturday/Sunday since can pay by online and get x3 points. I think there isn't any cards out there that gives more points than this card for govt and utilities bills, insurance etc.
*
How much per year you able to spend with amex? Or
How much per year you able to spend with amex exclude utilities/education and government spending?

I would say around a comfortable RM15 - 20k with normal spending.
*
With one of the best earning rate with 2card premier, for a 5 years duration, lets say if you spend 20k per year, 5 years you will have roughly 100k enrich/KF/Am miles, that is just barely enough for one return ticket to London with Asia miles, KF require more, same goes to enrich I think.

Is it still possible to use treat points to redeem Asia Miles? I can't see it on the latest online treat catalog anymore.

I noticed that too, hopefully we are not left with bad value enrich and forever waitlist kf

Don't hold breathe. Heard from grapevine likely no more AM. Only left KF and EM.

It will be bad, EM and KF require much higher miles and KF do not have great accessibility to partner's award

poor value combine with sub par product...

For MAS one will be better off paying for the ticket, especially if you have the platinum card, which buy one get one free business class ticket
