Sorry I honestly don't know how to look up a SSN. Back in the day, some universities used SSN as the student ID number so it could be on your transcript possibly. Otherwise google up some options?
*
Good point on the transcript. Will try to look. I did googling but most options I saw was for people who have a working visa in the US. Anyway, I'll see

If you're singaporean or can get a Singaporean credit card, Stanchart is offering 40k Krisflyer miles if you open a VI card account with them

https://www.sc.com/sg/campaign/visa-infinite-krisflyer/
*
Are you in SIN? This SC is mad, annual fee cannot waive at $600 and return you 35k miles only now!!

Others that are on-going

1. Krisflyer - 5k welcome bonus + annual fee waiver, extra 3k if you spend $700 within 6 months

2. Citibank - 42k - 50k Miles *

10k Miles - Pay annual fee $200
5k Miles - first spending within 3 months
15k Miles - spend $10k within 3 months

Total bonus 30k

Local spending - 1.2 miles per $1

Oversea spending 2 miles per $1

So if you spend the $10k oversea, you would get 50k Miles.

Thanks for the info bearbear, I'm not in SIN, gave up my PEP some time back. Some of those options aren't so bad, Malaysian banks aren't competitive enough yet or competitive in a different way I guess.

sadly the last one I can remember of was citibank premier miles that give 60k miles. Since then I dont think there has been anything interesting.

i believe in US you are exposed to better deals, sometimes reading the trip review (some shared how they earn the miles from sign up) makes me wana bang my head to the wall, hard!!

Yes, in the US they have much better signing bonus but the miles they get per dollar spent is usually lower than what we can get in Malaysia with Maybank 2 premier for example (usually the maximum I've seen is around 2 miles per dollar spent)

But of course the Citi Prestige does also have a lot of other advantages.

So the optimal solution is to sign up for US cards for their signing bonus, and use Maybank Premiere cards for daily spend? biggrin.gif

Best of both worlds rclxms.gif

And Visa / Master spending in Msia is sad (especially now they restrict petrol and what not to earn only 1 point)

i am even considering using my SIN CC to pay for places in Msia that doesnt accept AMEX, at least its 2 Miles per $1

Agreed. Sign up bonuses in the US is kinda lucrative compared to Msia cards. However miles earning for daily spend is way less compared to Msia or Sg.

Hi all,

This is my first time dwelling into this hobby so need some advice. I have 40k kris flyer pts which is only enough to redeem a one way ticket for my selected location.

How do I choose to rdeem the one way ticket and pay for the return ticket? Cos I found out if I redeem one way then buy a separate for return is more expensive than buy return withut redeem.

Not make sense to redeem one way haha.. sure need to back ma..

I cannot find the option to redeem one way and pay for return.. I choose return it say i not enough pts. rclxub.gif

Another question what is best frequent flyer to use?

I read in online blog say krisflyer is bad cos it has 3 yrs expiry date for the miles and when achieve silver status it only last 1 yr. Good point is it can have 15% off when redeem online.

How about other like enrich or etihad? Any recommend after I use up my krisflyer miles?

buy your return with budget airline as their fare calculation is more direct, one way you wont get charged for premium.

Enrich also has 3 years validity, choose the airline you most likely will fly with. Destination and fleet also play a roll.

Hey guys!

Do I also earn miles when I buy ticket for my Family members? Or only applicable to the person flying? Cos I thought if all combine together will earn faster.
