Earlier in this thread I asked if anyone received a notice from Maybank regarding the conversion of their complimentary Priority Pass physical card to a digital App based version. I finally figured out how and managed to do the conversion yesterday;

In the past, the PP App on App Store didn’t have the option of displaying a digital card. I’m so happy that I have one less card to carry now.

However, I have never once used the Priority Pass - since we have this instead;

But as a backup option, the Priorty Pass is still good to have.

Didnt see your post asking about PP digital card. I use PP apps to enter lounge, easier to check the lounge list and locate them, and less card to carry.

Thank you for your comment. I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments!

I flew on the Cathay Pacific J class to HK last two weeks. The crew was friendly, and the food was pretty OK.

Of course, the experience of the SQ J class is much better. I still miss it.

I redeemed M2 Premier TP and it was credited in my AM account within half an hour. Impressive!

Interesting you felt the same way about Cathay vs SQ service. Earlier in May, I flew Cathay on an urgent flight to see my aunt who was in ICU in HK. We usually fly SQ. The service standards are just not comparable.

For a short haul flight, nothing was available on Cathay. Not even toothbrushes after a meal. But the lounge in T4 (Changi) and the Premium Lounge at HK airport were superb experiences both.

Just the crew OK. laugh.gif Maybe to compare it with MH J class sounds more reasonable. tongue.gif
I flew SQ J Class long haul but for both CX and MH were short haul. CX is better.

To be fair, CX suffered probably the worst of the COVID lock downs, compared to its regional rivals. SQ obviously rebounded sharply and because it was much more nimble (unlike CX which was beholden to the whims and fancies of the Mainland's politburo) - but even SQ also suffered from cost cutting which are only being reversed in stages.

My wife and I fly SQ premium classes exclusively, so we're quite primed to the changes.

For example, in the past, business class would have complimentary slippers and eyeshades and socks, but that needs to be requested of late (although, as PPS members, we still get it prepared for us without us having to ask - but for the "occasional" J class flyer, I've noticed that they've had to request for these basic items.

Thankfully Suite and First Class are faring better - the cost cutting, if any at all, is not quite felt there, and the service for all 3 premium classes by the SQ crew is really still second to none.

Happy flying and safe travels!

Yes, need to request in advance via the app. laugh.gif
The funny thing is I didn't request it for my flight from SIN-IST but for the return flight back IST-SIN, it was prepared for me. So, I'm not sure now. laugh.gif

Ooh! You lucky thing! Maybe they had extras (esp. if it isn't a full flight) - and the best thing about flying SQ to IST or back is the lounge at IST ... OMG. I swear to you, it's probably even better than SQ's own home lounge at Changi T3!

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for sharing, but this is the first time KrisFlyer has ever sent me a EOY statement like the one below:

[attachmentid=11488297]

The bulk of the points (around 700,000 of them) came when I signed off my Porsche 911 GTS on my Maybank Diamante Card in July this year. I received double Maybank Treat points because it was an overseas purchase (both the Porsches were bought in Sydney), so when I converted, it was a serious bunch of KrisFlyer miles. Anyway, this is the first time I've accumulated more than a million KF points in the span of a year. I guess travelling from Singapore to Sydney on First/Business Class every other month also really racked up the points count!

The problem I'm facing is what am I going to do with these points. I've found that trying to redeem First Class tickets (eg. I'd buy a full price J Class, then use my points to upgrade to Suite/First Class) is almost next to impossible with SQ nowadays, with revenge travel still causing a huge backlog of wannabe wanderlusters. Thankfully, these points don't expire (since wife and I are both PPS card holders), so I guess I can keep kicking the can down the road until the travel bug simmers down...

But then, most airlines will pull another trick out of their dirty hat: and devalue the points!

Anyway, just thought I'd share a little bit of my joy with all of you. It's a happy problem to have, and I thank you for reading.

Happy New Year guys.

welcome to the club.

if you can afford to buy revenue J/F, don't bother to waste time monitoring for redemption. Your time is more valuable than this.

those KF can use to purchase items from KrisShop or book hotel, etc as alternative.

Thank you bro.

I've already redeemed 2 iPhone 15s at 30% KF miles discount during their recent promotion, but apparently, the best ¢/mile is to be had by way of seat class upgrades - I actually "lose" money when I redeem items from KrisShop, compared to when I redeem seat upgrades, or so frequent flyer miles gurus and sifus have told me...

Enjoy your delayed flight!  tongue.gif

But remember to exchange your CC points regularly, because they keep reducing the value to convert to EM.

Thanks for the reminder! Converting a bunch of treats points to KF miles now….
