QUOTE(brotan @ Jan 31 2016, 08:49 AM) Risk is relative. It's obviously still less risky than most equity fund. But if you compare it will money market or FD it has higher risk If you have bought it before 2008 you get a normal bond returns over the past 7 years. If u bought before 2008 and sold before 2010 it's a lousy investment. If you bought in 2011 then it's a brilliant bond fund so far. But if u buy now and expect it to have significantly higher returns than other bond funds you will likely be disappointed - this part not I say. It was discussed previously |

QUOTE(lukenn @ Feb 1 2016, 02:59 AM) This is some very high level kung fu. Aiyo, that's not the intention la. First paragraph talks about risk to answer the question if it's a risky investmentWise man say, if u judge a fish by its ability to climb trees, it will live it's entire life think it's stupid. Second paragraph is reading the performance chart with rear mirror view. that is all retail investor know how to do ma When EI bond fund has a huge debt recovery sometime last year also people rush to buy ma |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 3 2016, 10:20 PM) just invested into rhb asian total return fund (it is a new fund for me) I have it since Oct 2014. It's more volatile than my Asia Pac balanced fund.... so it really should not be the only bond fund in your portfolio or the main bond fund in your portfoliosupposedly bond fund but kinda volatile anyone bought it? |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Feb 22 2016, 11:50 PM) Is there a point to this question? Sorry for being blunt. I couldn't see it We've discussed every now n then that this fund isn't performing as well as we've hoped for. I was contemplating to sell, but decided to give it more time since that's what this fund manager is about. Long term view |

QUOTE(lukenn @ Mar 5 2016, 08:30 PM) Tried to get as close as I can to your portfolio. Proxy RHB Dana Hazzem with RHB Kidsave. It used to be RHB Dana Kidsave. Dont have you RHB REgional fund either. A bit too new. So what's the conclusion? [attachmentid=6120173] Let me try 😅 1. Consolidate the Malaysian equity funds? I'd drop shariah aggressive, too volatile 2. Move some to bond funds? 3. Put more in Asia pac funds 😈 |

QUOTE(HarpArtist @ Mar 6 2016, 10:55 AM) Yes. Biggest risk at the moment would be RHB Asian total return fund cos it's a bond fund. Doesn't follow stock market rally that's happening at the moment For the equity funds, if you entered early this year, maybe not as bad, since you would gain from the market rally But if you bought at the highest point last year .... 😓 |

QUOTE(yklooi @ Mar 9 2016, 08:11 AM) Luckily for FSM as they are agent less......else some people may say he got conned by the agents......"i did told him so, I did told him so...AGENT CHEATS" Wa uncle looi.... so humorous today oneAnyway, I think your honesty is good. It's so easy to just report good news and hide bad ones which is what ppl usually do with social media postings. It makes others realise, at least they (we) are not alone |
