.......
And they (the advisors/contsultants) must be able to give timely advice when to invest, and again give timely advice when to pull out, plus which region/sector to invest and again, when to pull out of the region/sector - and do all these every 6 months or so; with a time frame of 2-3 days to pull out before the market goes down, and must be able to pour back the investment right at the lowest point of the market dip.
*
hmm.gif wow,....if the advisors/consultants can do that,...wondering what the hedge funds or the BIG Global fund houses that has all the "qualified experts" can do...

Yes they will.. You can walk into Maybank any time you want. Open an account, deposit money, ask about the services etc. That can be easily proven, ask me something about Maybank or Nestle and see if I can't answer you.
*
then you make the decision to buy the stock/share from these observation?

That is part of it.. A lot of research is involved, a lot of reading and calculation and some common sense smile.gif  but yes at some point you have to make a decision. Good things not cheap, cheap things not good. So if you see a good thing that is cheap, you should buy it smile.gif but you have to determine for yourself why it is good, and why you think it is cheap.
*
Thanks for inputing... notworthy.gif
looks confusing and a lot of unknown to me.
btw, how or what is the key determination or factors or criteria on your "determine for yourself why it is good, and why you think it is cheap".?
or did you got it thru guts feeling or years of experience from trials and errors?

Yes. Don't be afraid, if you are a shareholder you own part of the company, these people are your staff smile.gif Ask them about anything you are not sure of. If it's a good company Investor Relations will be happy to answer you.
*
isn't it they will always says good about their company?
can they be trusted to tell you the truth or
did the top mgmt hide somethings from them or
the top mgmt. did not tell them some things?
then in that case they (investor relation) are telling the truth but a lot of hanky panky they will not know. right?

One of the system one can use with the concept of buy high sell higher is using 50 SMA or even 100 SMA to make investment decision. I'm not saying I'm using this system but it is a possible system. Using your normal DCA ammo, when NAV drop below 50 SMA, you stop your DCA and reserve the ammo. The moment NAV went above 50 SMA, you lump sum invest your accumulated ammo and resume DCA again. Will you able to catch the bottom with this method? No, but that is not the objective because with regular DCA you unable to catch the bottom as well because nobody know when is bottom until you see uptrend again as represented by NAV cross above 50 SMA. The chart is available FOC from FSM. There are many more systems that can enhance return using variation of DCA/VCA/CDI methods.
*
hmm.gif interesting.....
but isn't it NAV is the reflections of the fund assets - liabilities...
the assets changes (stocks types/qty/value changes)
I think cannot use this SMA things

a quick rough check using FSM tool
1 year performance (Returns)
Malaysia EQ Fund
15 funds > 5%
16 funds 0~5%
25 funds 0~ MINUS 5%
19 funds > MINUS 5%
total 75 funds

Malaysia Focused EQ funds
3 funds 0~2%
10 funds 0~ MINUS 11%
total 13 funds

for the YTD data
only 5 funds having 0~1.23%
all others 83 funds are having MINUS returns YTD currently

thumbup.gif there are of some MY funds still standing rclxms.gif

I think it is good to track (or at least monitor) the IRR of EACH fund instead of just the ROI....
for the fund may have done good for 1 year, example +20% ROI in the 1st year of initial entry but stayed at 0% ROI for the next 10 years......
the ROI may still shows +20%
but the IRR will shows a different pictures blink.gif

Guys. I opened FSM account last month and invested into CIMB AP and Global TITANS.

I am slightly confused after investing, if I invested both funds 1000 ringgit , and I get 1000 units for both funds. I hold the fund for 10 years, and my NAV price has increased by 200%. If I didn't withdraw any money on this point. and on the 11th year my NAV price drop by 250% , does that means I lose all my savings and principals and I have to start again wait for the NAV to increase?
*
hmm.gif is that a trick question?
if NAV dropped 100%.....all is already lost....(NO need 250% drops)
btw,....for that to happens......ALL the stocks holdings in that fund must also dropped by 100% each.
Dooms day scenario?
