@silverwave, I know a couple of people who graduated from top colleges. Most are currently abroad (mainly in the USA) but from what I know they're doing pretty well - for some reason, most of them are in the Financial Markets. Another that I know who's completed a pretty re-knowned MBA from Australia currently heads a firm. I also have a friend who's completed an E-MBA with another top college and he too seems to be doing well For me, these people decided on taking an MBA not for getting more $ [maybe that's the end goal] but I truly believe that when you start creating value in an organisation, you will soon see your own personal value shoot up Good Luck! @alaskanbunny, There are very many different rankings but in general the top schools in which were ranked here will also be ranked highly in other rankings; maybe a shift in position. Also, there's a difference when it comes to ranking a full-time MBA and a part-time MBA and an EMBA. Having said that, the ranking really wouldn't play much of a difference if you're based in KL unless you're willing to travel for classes Ask yourself what is it that you want to get out of this MBA and evaluate it accordingly. If it's just the paper qualification you're after then go for one which will help you pass easily, etc

@paintballtao, Hmm... considering the INSEAD EMBA? That way, U get to travel around the world whilst completing your programme But if it's too expensive, then just do the INSEAD MBA instead

@alaskanbunny, What's your budget? Also, what is your motivation for doing an MBA? When you do a more "expensive" MBA, your networking opens up...

@joejee, Er.. well the rank of the MBA can be important to some people; like I said, people take up an MBA for different reasons. You need to ask urself what your reason is and then evaluate the importance of it; it's just like any other decision making process.
@fino_abama, I disagree with your comment. Just cause the MBA is not from a reputable or prestigious university doesn't mean that it's a bad programme. I've taken 2 postgraduate programmes now and both programmes I learnt stuff. Admittedly, one of it was from a University I'm not that proud of but it's still an MBA. The other, from a more premium programme.

@timeonce, Didn't I read it elsewhere the Lancaster MBA is only coming in Y2014? Nevertheless, no harm calling up to check.
The other not too bad, Australian programme would be from INTI; either the UOW MBA or the University of Sydney MBA. I think the latter is higher ranked.

@fino_abama, Are you an INSEAD graduand? You seemed pretty pro INSEAD. @joejee, If you want a $ can buy MBA then it's all over the internet There's clearly something wrong with our Malaysian education system so I'm not surprised our MBAs are uhm... well, this standard! Lol... Having said that, I haven't taken a local MBA programme so I could be wrong that it might be pretty good In the line I come from, I really don't take into account the candidates academic qualifications; of course if he/she does well in that area, I'm impressed but there's more to just those papers that I look for.

@alaskanbunny, O really?! Shucks... then I definitely been misled by what I heard. Apologies because I've been out of the country for about 2 months now and the programme was launched, if I'm not mistaken around that time - didn't pay attention as I ain't their target audience Thanks for the clarifications though.

@alaskanbunny, Monash?! Well good luck to you. If you put in the effort, I don't see a reason for you to worry about failing. Are U also working at the same time? @kobe8byrant, I believe that learning is a life-long thingy; it's good to keep yourself abreast as to what's happening out there. And one way to do that is to get back to the books - though not always the case. I did my 1st MBA over a decade ago (when we Malaysians didn't have much local options but I couldn't afford to pursue it abroad) as a freshie out of university. For the longest time I thought about pursuing a DBA but I didn't find a suitable course and decided to drop it. Then, I won a scholarship to pursue another (this time, a pretty prestigious one) so I thought, the experience would be a great one @fino_abama, Y INSEAD and not others!? And Y not do the programme since you're so pro it?

@fino_abama, What is it that you do and why are you looking at pursuing a pHD? @joejee, No excuses just because you're in audit. Yes I know and have heard it's really long hours but I'm in Advertising so the hours are as long @kaiserwulf, If I found RM100k on the streets, I would use it to as seed money to start a business than do an MBA

@DT1, I'm not a 100% sure but I think it's been discontinued - hence the website no longer shows the availability of the course?
