I used Grabcar app and had a ride of RM 11.39 which charged to my CIMB CR and unexpectedly got RM 10 of CIMB Grabcar promo and of course the usual 5% cash rebate. Not too bad.

QUOTE(CP88 @ Jan 1 2016, 03:02 PM) I didn't know there's such a promo. Googled and it was only for the first cashless ride. http://www.grabtaxi.com/myteksi/get-a-rm10...ride-with-cimb/ This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 1 2016, 03:13 PM |

QUOTE(lengzhai @ Jan 1 2016, 07:39 PM) Hi fruitie, I'm not sure which MCC but it's entitled for cash rebate.Grabcar's MCC is considered as Ecom which entitled to 5%CB? I checked with Uber, their code was Taxi & Limousine btw I think it will not be charged as Ecom. Or anyone experienced riding these can confirm on this? Eh, Uber no? I got it for my Nov cash rebate. |

QUOTE(lengzhai @ Jan 1 2016, 08:10 PM) According to Uber, Uber is registered under the Merchant Category Code 4121, for Taxicabs and Limousines. Yes, I received cash rebate for Uber transaction via its app. Just to double confirm with you, means that Uber transactions also entitled for the Online Ecom 5% CB then? If yes, I am going to change to CIMB CB liao |

QUOTE(suai @ Jan 2 2016, 12:53 PM) How do we reload our Alipay using CIMB CR?I thought cards that not registered in China cannot use to reload Alipay? My China friend usually transferred money to my Alipay or she helps me to pay my Taobao purchases. This post has been edited by fruitie: Jan 2 2016, 01:09 PM |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jan 3 2016, 04:26 PM) I m using the Cimb visa infinite, all transactions are subject to 0.5%/1% rebates, no need to remember which merchant codes and monitor the credit use per month. No cap on the rebates more straight forward to me. But the % is not as high as CIMB CR.If you want a hassle free card, can get Aeon Watami but it excludes petrol. Well, everyone has different needs, some don't mind the hassle while some find it troublesome. No right or wrong. |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jan 3 2016, 05:07 PM) Those cash return 5% are not exactly 5% based on the actual transaction amount, many formulas and cap assigned to each category. Very difficult to monitor for me So far I got back my 5% cash back for my online transactions though I prefer my UOB VOX for pure online transactions.Erm formula? Mind to enlighten? |

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jan 3 2016, 05:14 PM) I m referring to Rhb smart value card, previously called travel money. They used to have online calculator to work out how much total spend, petrol spend, utility spend and etc. Oh, I thought you were referring to CIMB CR card since this is a CIMB thread.Oh well, yes that's a troublesome card. I cancelled my RHB card too. |

QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Jan 3 2016, 06:24 PM) So we need to remember because when we swipe the card we need to tell the cashier the merchant code? Sorry noob.. You can't change merchant code, you can't do much because it's tagged to the terminal. So learn from experience if you don't get cash back.Refer to this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3711577 |

QUOTE(diversity @ Jan 6 2016, 12:09 PM) Feel like cutting my CIMB cash rebate gold card, not much benefits. Er.. RM 50 cash back is very normal in the market, how much are you expecting actually? Even the cash rebate only max 50 per month Anyway, that said I don't use my CIMB CR that often too because I have UOB VOX for online transactions. Only if the transaction is below RM 50, then I will use CIMB CR and my usual Uber and MyTeksi rides also charged to CIMB CR. |

QUOTE(13aby @ Jan 6 2016, 05:44 PM) apply for normal platinum card , but they call me and say already proccess for Cash rebate and Petronas Platinum card...... hmmm You can always insist to have only one card. I was offered with another card too when I applied CIMB CR and I made it very clear that I only want CIMB CR, do not send me other additional cards.I only received CIMB CR at the end. |
