Hey folks,

Hunting for my first CC to build a good credit history. No specific preferences but additional cash back on my monthly expenditure is a good thing.

I'm starting out without commitments, yet, and my ~40+k income goes into servicing PTPTN loans and utilities. Would appreciate additional input besides the CIMB Cash Rebate and the Maybank-I's Ikhwan.

What is this "latest BE Form with official tax receipt" to be submitted with CC application? Is that the slip pengesahan for BE filing?

I do. Just not sure if they wanted the pengesahan or the breakdown of it. Want to make sure everything is in order so no need to keep going back and forth.

Finally got my Maybank card application approved and I'm setting up a favourite IBG on CIMBClicks. The account number is the same as the card number?

Tried calling the CS based on recommendations by GenX here but no luck. All I get is high call volume and asked to call back again. Perhaps others can be of more help bangwall.gif

Spent a few hundred on household items but no alerts or amount outstanding. Are spending (and related cashbacks) updated on weekdays only?

received an alert for usage at rm71 last week. the call center seems to be busy all the time. thing is, on m2u there's no record of my morning spending. hmm...

will head to the petrol station later and see if it gets updated.

I haven't experienced the others (credit card related) but I haven't had any success speaking to a human on the hotline, weekdays or otherwise. Guess I'll try the free phone at the bank or do it over the counter.

Why would they randomize sms alerts!? Seesh...

Hey all, after 6 minutes of waiting I finally got through and set the alert to RM1. CS said first transaction will be alerted and the next alert will only come for spending of rm1000 and above.

Online shopping with the CIMB Cash Rebate card applies to certain online stores like Lazada only or any merchant? Purchases on Dell counts?

Will do. Thing is, direct transaction with PTPTN will not be eligible for rebates / goodies. Not anymore with Maybank and I don't think CIMB will too. And so, the quest for loan rebates continues. Hopefully we find some ways before I finish paying in 4 years biggrin.gif
