Any HSBC cardholders applied for the cash instalment plan? The CIMB CashLite interest rated at 8.99% p.a. but couldn't find any charges for the 15k offered by HSBC. Anything I might have overlooked?

Check out these cards:

1. HLB Fortune
2. HLB Essential
3. SCB Cashback Gold
4. SCB Just One Platinum
5. OCBC 365 Mastercard

Since you didn't mention about annual fee, I just list all out that I can think of at the moment. Some of them do have annual fee while some with waiver condition.

I am really not sure, does each credit come with something over limit, eg. Credit limit is RM5000 but overuse the credit like RM5500 in retail purchases

Possible right? I am not sure the term is, and there is associated fee on this? Thanks
*
That's Over Limit Fee - will be charged when the Total Outstanding Balance exceeds the Credit Limit, some bank got some not...

but note that only physical overseas spending gets 5 points per rm, internet spending only 1 point, even if foreign currency transaction.....and no points for petrol...

and the lounge access without conditions is only till end this year....no word yet what they will do, but if they revert back to previous rules, you need to swipe 3 times OVERSEAS to be eligible for access....

so basically a card for travels... smile.gif

Never apply for more than 2 CC or other Loan deals in a Short time, the bank may Assume you are in Desperate need of $$$ as Desperate ppl don't make Good Credit Risks. Even worse, they might think your ID has been Stolen, which also can Ruin your Credit Score Rating... sweat.gif

How come my friend who work in UOB said we cannot waive UOB ONE card annual fee,

yet, i know someone who called the call center, then had them waive 50% of the annual fee?
UOB staff not knowledgeable enough?
*
It's Depends on their current Spending criteria & a bit of luck, their t&c change from time to time also...

I have seen Some ppl even spend Rm50k on the card also don't get Waiver from UOB.

When I got My UOB One card they give 5 years Waiver, till now I tiada kasi a single cent of Annual Fee, pun...

It's Varies People to People... blush.gif

On 1: noted. Thanks wink.gif
B
On 2: just so I get it right, this works the same as opening a FD account where i still get the tiny interest until i cancel my FD where they will cancel my credit card as well?

So if i go with option 2 now and consistently pay PTPTN for another 9 months (deducting the previous 3 months), I can cancel my current card and reapply another one without being tie down to FD?
*
Pls take noted that, even now u cancel your current CC to apply other card maybe also pun kena reject by Them due to PTPN.

Dear all, I want to apply my first Credit card, and i have chosen the Citibank Cash Back. My annual income is about RM42k+. My CC application was rejected and bank did not stated what reason. I'm curious is it because of i do not have any credit history? FYI, i do not have any commitment at the moment, no loan, no debt. Previously i applied for Maybank 2 Gold cards, but rejected as well. I have no idea why i could not apply for a credit card even my annual income is higher than the requirement. Kindly advice what can i do in order for me to successfully apply for a credit card?
*
Citibank won't give You (as a 1st timer) their Card if You Don't have Any Credit History with any bank before....

Try to get a Basic CC from the bank of your salary credit into... becos of they got your salary transaction info& maybe not too Stingy to approve their Credit Card to you.

You can own a basic credit card to Build up your Credit History 1st, the Card like CIMB CR Mastercard a decent Card for a NewB like U becos of it's Free for Life No worry with Annual fee.

Other cards u can consider HLB Essential, HLB Mach AF waiver with 12x swipes p.a

FYI,

Thank you very much for your reply. What if my dad apply a supplementary card under my name first? Will that include or show in my credit history?
*
Nope... shakehead.gif

A supplementary card is usually an additional credit card that you can apply for family members (to the spouse, parents or children of the primary credit card holder.

The supplementary cards are issued under the same account as the primary card holder & all expenses incurred on an add-on card (Supp card) are billed to the primary cardholder.
