PLAN 1 year Commissioning ship more powerful than our total 50 year RMN。 biggrin.gif laugh.gif
even they slow down the construction navy ship due to not enough navy crew to handle too many new ship, PLAN even call back Retired crew to service back。
no choice they have strong politic will to fight with Japan and America。 also vietnum/Philippine
the ship also not include there coast guard ship some more。

US Hellfire missile goes missing, winds up in Cuba

user posted image
In a bizarre series of events, a US Hellfire missile has turned up in Cuba after going missing in a fiasco that has left American officials worried the technology may be shared with China, Russia or North Korea, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Though the missile was not carrying a warhead, the alarming diversion while it was in transit from Europe has spurred US investigators to probe whether its arrival on the communist island was the result of criminal activity or merely a series of mistakes, according to the newspaper.
And despite a historic thaw in ties with Cuba over the past year, Washington has been unsuccessful in its push to get the missile back, the WSJ said, citing unnamed sources.
It reported that American officials were not concerned that Cuba would take apart the Hellfire -- an air-to-ground missile often carried by helicopters -- but were worried that Havana would share the technology with US rivals China and Russia, as well as North Korea.

Tat issue is minor for a heli. Both nh90 and ec725 was never designed to be desert operated. Nh90 also got issue in desert deployment as noted
For deploymen purposet.. well a ramp is always better. Do note that the nh90 was close to be chosen if not for some last minute changes for non ramp heli to participate for our cssr requirements
*
at 2009 if not wrong Nh90 not in our helicopter tender, Eurocopter propose EC725, other is S92, AW101,Mh-17.
NH90 no issue now in desert operation, NH90 use alot in Afghanistan and mali as CSAR。

QUOTE(KLboy92 @ Jan 10 2016, 12:50 AM)
eh I dunno just what I've read online. Somehow or other NH90 more tahan. So EC725 switch to CSAR and medevac only, spec ops use NH90... except for missions which need air-to-air refuel cause only EC725 can do that.
*
Nh90 design is for Navy and best helicopter for navy due to balancing in term size, space & technology。 later Army version as transportation/SCAR helicopter.
Nh90 have very long range fly so not really need refuel. it can fly 900km with 2.5 tons load. 1600km ferry range with external fuel tank.
Special Ops use EC725 more suitable, it design more to Air-force and Ops team use.

Indeed, EC725 was for spec ops use but due to aforementioned problems French spec ops switching back to NH90... except EC725 has aerial refuel capability so Frenchies kinda doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

So now French mainly use EC725 for CSAR which is actually 1 of its main role, Germany and we also use it for CSAR
More like resistance towards bullets and splinters eg RPG frag warhead. I'm sure its not for nothing EC725 invest 1 whole ton in armor and missile avoidance systems.
*
well France army no have EC725, they only have Puma and Cougar. now start replace to NH90。NH90 fully Cabon fiber composite body make advantage in CSAR。
well France Airforce have EC725.
there Special Ops have some helicopter also some from AIrforce/Army
so depend mission they can use many type helicopter,if needed they can ask from Airforce/Army too.

Personally i support RMN get NH90 as 6 ASW helicopter and pair with Gowind 。。。
For Army NH90 or AW101 also OK, if wan more bigger can can get Chinook.
but many need consideration like Budget, support, operation cost etc。。。

Firstly what's the reasoning in getting NH-90? Does it perform better than Lynx? For helicopters in RMN, passenger capacity is secondary to its ability to perform both ASW and ASuW warfare.
Even in other branch of service, there are more suitable options than NH-90. Personally, I would prefer if the air force to get at least 36 EC-725 while the army gets AW-149 (since it shares logistical line as A-109)
*
well Lynx & NH90 is 2 different class, one is small or one is Medium class helicopter, both have own different market
- NH90 bigger size than can perform much more role。NH90 bigger space can both ASW and ASuW warfare terminal but still carry passenger 6-10 for CSAR or transportation。
- but Lynx if Terminal and ASW system install in helicopter, space will be full, than your wont't able to carry passenger anymore except sensor Operator and Winch Operator
- IF you only have 1 helicopter one Navy ship, NH90 can do much more role as some mention above. this advantage of space and much long range than Lyxn.

Germans ran into trouble with NH90 IINM (sorry they don't use EC725, its Brazil which uses a lot), the ramp was flimsy or something... maybe we have less trouble with Asian-sized troops tongue.gif
Since we're so buddy2 with US now apparently, why not try for Seahawks? As someone said earlier, don't have to buy French everything hmm.gif
*
well Nh90 getting retrofit in 2013-2014 to fix the problem, and slowly ,many Nh90 user start getting IOC or FOC. and going to mature.。。
latest news RMN sending pilot to traning Seahawks, so high possible getting Seahawks ASW in future。plus our defense Minister seems pro america product.
generally i believe Seahawks and AW159 either 1 will get our ASW deal in future.
evey hardware hv Pro and Cons, also price, depend which 1 suite your your need and budget, also political reason。

seems not see any slower construction work, our pass 2 budget continue pay for the project.
from last picture we see, the BNS in process produce each Gowind module from steel receive.
it should take 1.5-2 year to make required module than only join all together in dock some where around late 2017.

Why is this hospital ship armed?

Ok, I know this ship was originally a Makassar-class LPD, but I figured they'd remove all weaponry when they converted it into a hospital ship. hmm.gif
*
it not from Makassar class it from TNI-AL LPD Frosch Class, makassar class is from code 59X.

AIRSTRIP near Completion biggrin.gif

In early September 2015, AMTI released images showing that China had effectively completed construction of its first Spratly Islands airstrip on Fiery Cross Reef, was continuing work on its second at Subi Reef, and was preparing to begin work on a third at Mischief Reef. Four months later, China has not only landed three civilian test flights on Fiery Cross, but is progressing even faster than expected with its work at Subi and especially Mischief. Construction of the Fiery Cross airstrip took at least seven months from the start of grading, which was visible by February 2015. Work at Subi, where grading began in June or July, seems to be proceeding slightly quicker. And at Mischief, where grading began in September or October, construction is already approaching completion just three to four months later. Meanwhile China is rapidly building out other facilities on both Mischief and Subi.
