Designing the interior compartment of every AV8 variants would add cost also.
cost more like need to built prototype unit, at lease 3-4 unit for each variants and testing, if any go wrong need enhance, than need more modify or built new prototype again ...

Sure. Costlier than the process to buy new chassis for the later roles, with all the ahem songlap and so on... and the delays? See our navy so many classes, until now I don't understand why we can't mass produce 2 or 3 types.
At least it looks like an okay chassis. Somehow we caught the 8x8 and mast mount trends also. Not bad.
But while we're admiring our AV8, Terrex 2 gets shortlisted for USMC vehicle...
so many type bcos it bought different year and sure different proposal. also in pass we no have budget buy many quantity ship mostly 2 unit 。。。 that why i also sad our procurement culture not good. also out politician top leader also not military tech person.

thats not really much even on asean military standard, but i guess its a lot for them
seem better than our, we only have budget around usd 800m (0.8b) for procurement weapon in Military Modernization, remaining budget is for management budget like wages, maintanance hardware, fuel, ammunition

thats our yearly budget, the phil 1.2-1.7bil is for 5-year plan like our rmk plan, imagine our military rmk plan is only 1bil..
i know, if no specially allocation budget, our 5 year rmk military budget not very much, also not more than usd 5 billion。not much can buy. AV8 and LCS already take alot budget.

They are not confident in the economy ahead. Now scraping money to paid off that famous debt. Also trying to reduce budget deficit. Ain't easy time for us. Unless some1 sponsor us
more also our gov income is drop due to price oil drop, not necessary paid off that famous debt.
Sigh... that debt make govt bleed assets and capital. We will be a while digging ourselves out of the hole, because we have basically sold the cangkul to prop up the hole
Labuan.... think US sailors prefer Singapore with advanced infrastructure, English fluent sarong party girls and Geylang....
actually no need to worry on that debt 。。。 。。。more to see on 1st quarters 2016 i more worry on oil price and Ringgit。
There's so many pre-loved F-16s and so on in the market. Why not get a bunch as interim. Better than to have a gaping hole.
as many people said, if get second hand than you not get new 1 anymore. so better not get old one. also old more more cost to maintenance. also we more prefer twin engine aricraft

Please... the debt doesn't magically have no effect just cause its paid off. The act of paying it off is almost like incurring the debt all over again. 2.6b not only just burn like Joker in Dark Knight, we still need to repay it and service the interest...
Can extend the MIGs life? Yes its dangerous but... what other choice?
relax, wait 1 more year know more. Mig will still use i think. maybe just less flight

the leased was never on the table at first place they only wanted facilities to refit and refuel for daily sortie and interception no more training and air shows
still wonder why USN not take Philippine as base, more close to SCS, refuel no issue at Philippine , close to Guam to easy back for service.
Constuctions progress of the Philippine Navy first Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) and the Indonesian Navy Sigma PKR 10514 (bottom right) at PT PAL facility. Launching of both ships scheduled on January 18th 2016.
Credit to original uploader.
very fast progress (SSV) ship in contruction, our Navy still in long wait and dream .... maybe RMN wait budget to get Mercedes level of SSV/JSS ship.
It seem like SGPV would get thales vigile 100, Scorpion 2, tsb 3520 and TUUM-6. Look like pretty much complete the whole system.
Scorpion 2 (Thales ECM) hard to say, now new rule is ECM is ban for export, only specially approval. we can see now Fremm frigate export to morocco and Egypt already remove Scorpion 2 (Thales ECM) if we can get it much better and Scorpion 2 should get it and install in our Gowind LCS too... so far no news on it.

AFAIK the French are very liberal with their weapons sales policy. First time I heard they ban anything.
As was the case for the Royal Morrocan Navy’s Mohammed VI FREMM, the former Normandie saw its second row of vertical launch system (SYLVER A70, used to launch MBDA’s naval cruise missiles) and the two SIGEN R-ECM electronic warfare and jammer systems removed because of export limitations for these sensitive equipments.
Lol, sigen r-ecm and syracuse system are exclusively for French navy use only. They didn't ban other ecm export.
we hope so, but than Scorpion2 quite old already in term of technology compare use in Sigen R-ECM or Elttronic specially no news yet for our LCS will install or not.

i already know Indonesian Sigma PKR 10514 have it , it order much early too. seem the ban only pass 1-2 year. let hope we getting too, so far no news we getting ECM in LCS too.
those boats already too old, 40 years, should be retirement insist put more money on it. should be top priority to replace with one platform about 24 unit boat and it use most more miscellaneous in patrol job。
