Key Points

• The Indonesian Navy has deployed its multipurpose hospital on an overseas mission for the first time
• Deployment reflects the country's growing confidence and ambition to establish a greater maritime presence in the region

The Indonesian Navy (Tentara Nasional Indonesia - Angkatan Laut, or TNI-AL) has deployed the multipurpose hospital ship KRI Dr Soeharso (990) on a week-long medical care mission to East Timor.

The ship, which arrived in the port of Dili on 29 January, is scheduled to complete its mission on 4 February. The TNI-AL's Eastern Fleet (KOARMATIM) confirmed with IHS Jane's on 2 February that the mission marks the first time that Dr Soeharso has been deployed on an overseas mission.

"Among the operations that we will be involved in are cataract removal operations, dental treatments, cleft lip surgeries, and circumcisions for children," said a representative from the KOARMATIM's office of communications. Embarked on the ship is a crew of 150 and 250 medical mission personnel from all three branches of the Indonesian armed forces, he said, adding that the service aims to treat about 2,000 patients for the entirety of its mission.

According to IHS Jane's Fighting Ships , Dr Soeharso was commissioned into the TNI-AL as the landing platform dock KRI Tanjung Dalpele with pennant number 972 in September 2003. The ship, which was built by Dae Sun Shipbuilders of South Korea in Busan, was subsequently redesignated a hospital ship in 2008.

Dr Soeharso features an overall length of 122 m, an overall beam of 22 m, and a hull draught of 4.9 m. It displaces approximately 11,500 tonnes at full load. The platform has a top speed of 15 kt and a standard range of 8,600 n miles at 12 kt. The ship can accommodate two landing craft utility vessels in its docking well and two Super Puma helicopters on its flight deck.

Su-35S at Its Finest: Advanced Fighter Which Started Its Mission in Syria

“It is important to note that the Su-35S is a single-seat fighter, while a two-seated warplane is better for airstrikes. It is highly unlikely to be used as a striker but rather to patrol the skies,”
QUOTE
The new fighter is armed with a 30 mm autocannon GSh-301 with a rate of fire 1,500 rounds per minute. It can carry air-to-air missiles, anti-ship and anti-submarine air-to-surface cruise missiles, and guided bombs
QUOTE
The Su-35S falls short on two parameters, thus it is defined as a Generation 4++ fighter

The fifth-generation warplane, unlike the fourth-generation, can carry both sling-loaded weapons and weapons stored in internal weapon bays. Secondly, it may cruise at supersonic speeds without using engine afterburners, you can hardly do it with sling-loaded weapons,

Royal Thai Army Interested in Mi-28 Havoc Helicopter

02 Februari 2016

There are rumors that the Royal Thai Army are interested in the attack helicopter Mil Mi-28 (NATO code Havoc) from Russia to replace AH-1F Cobra stationed in the Rotary-Wing fleet 3 Army Aviation Center which operate 7 units.

For the last several years, the Army main method of sourcing new aircraft has been to order a series of helicopters in small lots. As you can see from passed procurement : armed reconnaissance helicopter AS550 C3, helicopter transport for general purpose use UH-72A, UH-60M, AW139, H145 and Mi-17V5 all of which have not exceeded 10 units per model.

As the army most urgent need is to procure replacement helicopters for general purpose use which are nearing the end of their useful life cycle, such as UH-1H, Bell 206A and CH-47D that requires urgent consideration for replacement in the near future. As these general purpose helicopters are more necessary than attack helicopters.

Although the Army procured the first 4 AH-1F since 1991 and another lot of 4 AH-1F by EDA in 2012 which were used. Due to budgetary reasons the Army may still need to operate the AH-1F for some time to come. The new attack helicopters whether it is from the United States, Western Europe or Russia, would still need a large amount of budget.

Such as the AH-64A Apache attack helicopter the RTA pilots expressed their personal opinion that it is more expensive than the AH-1F, but there is not much difference in it’s combat capability.  Or in the case of the AH-64E Block III Apache Guardian’s latest advanced systems such as cameras that show color images at night is very expensive. The army is unlikely to have enough funding to procure it.

As can be seen by many weapons procurement projects which has been suspended or delayed due to lack of budget. Such as the guided anti-tank missile launcher project to procure the Spike MR to replace the M47 Dragon.

But that does not mean that the Russian Mi-28 attack helicopters would be a better choice even if the price is right compared to quality and capability as the army has experienced with the Mi-17V5 of which 5 units is in operation with the General Support Aviation Division Army Aviation Center.

We must take into account that the aircraft used within the armed forces past and present such as UH-1H Huey Gunship, AH-1F Cobra and AS550 C3 use similar basic weapons system which can be shared and is NATO compatible.

This is the view that Thailand's army is not suited for combat aircraft with totally different weapons systems, this will be two camps into the army. Because of affect for overall combat readiness, as seen in many neighboring countries, ASEAN.

Thailand’s Navy to Get a Boost With New Patrol Vessel

user posted image

QUOTE
A Thai shipbuilder has inked a new contract with a British defense firm to build a second offshore patrol vessel (OPV) for the Royal Thai navy (RTN).

Under the agreement announced on January 29, BAE Systems will provide engineering support and advice during the construction of a second modified River-class OPV at Thai shipbuilder Bangkok Dock’s facilities at the Mahidol Adulyadej Naval Dockyard.

The 90-meter OPVs are highly versatile ships which can be employed for various functions including the management of exclusive economic zones (EEZs) and the provision of disaster relief. The RTN had accepted its first OPV, HTMS Krabi, back in 2013 which was also built in partnership with BAE Systems at Mahidol Adulyadej.

The announcement of a second OPV follows Bangkok Dock’s signing of a 2.85 billion baht ($80 million) contract last September to lead the project together with other domestic shipyards and a partnership between BAE Systems and Bangkok Dock first revealed by a company official at the Defense & Security show in Bangkok in November.

Malaysia named MD 530G launch customer

Gareth Jennings, London and Dzirhan Mahadzir, Kuala Lumpur - IHS Jane's Defence Weekly
02 February 2016

Malaysia is to receive all six of its newly ordered MD 530G platforms by the end of the first quarter of 2017. Source: MDHI

MD Helicopters Inc (MDHI) has disclosed that Malaysia is to be the launch customer of its MD 530G armed reconnaissance and light attack platform, with an order for six aircraft announced on 1 February.

The disclosure that the Malaysian Army Aviation (Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat, or PUTD) is to be the first operator to field the latest-generation 'Little Bird' comes some weeks after IHS Jane's revealed that MDHI had lined up an Association of Southeast Asian Nations customer for its single-engined light attack helicopter.

In its contract announcement, MDHI said deliveries of the six MD 530Gs will commence in the fourth quarter of 2016 and be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2017. Once operational, these helicopters will perform attack; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and security missions in support of Malaysian Army missions in the Eastern Sabah Security Command of east Malaysia.

The six helicopters will likely form a unit (883 Squadron) as per the Malaysian Army's development plan for the PUTD that called for three squadrons based on different mission types, a light observation squadron, a tactical-lift squadron, and an attack helicopter squadron.

The light observation squadron (881 Squadron) is already in service and equipped with 10 AgustaWestland A109 Power platforms (11 were originally procured, but one was involved in a non-fatal crash in 2014), while the tactical-lift squadron (882 Squadron) is in the process of being formed with Sikorsky S-61A Nuri helicopters that are being transferred from the Royal Malaysian Air Force. Four ex-Royal Brunei Air Force S-70A Blackhawks are being donated to Malaysia from Brunei as well.

The Malaysian MD 530Gs are expected to be equipped with miniguns and rocket pods as part of a custom sensor and weapons package identified by MDHI to detect, identify, and engage a wide range of threats.

As previously reported by IHS Jane's , the MD 530G is being pitched by MDHI as a 'halfway-house' between its already-fielded MD 530F and its developmental MD 540A.

Dashing Daesh: Pentagon Seeks Big Money to Replace Depleted Bomb Stockpiles

That price tag is set to increase. As the Pentagon depletes its arms stockpile, the Obama administration is seeking some $1.8 billion to purchase 45,000 new smart bombs. If approved by Congress, this would represent a significant portion of the $7.5 billion the Pentagon is requesting to fight Daesh.

Putin’s Chechen strongman released a video showing a sniper’s cross-hairs focused on one of the Kremlin’s top opponents

One of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s most loyal allies has stirred fear among Kremlin critics by releasing a video showing opposition leader Mikhail Kasyanov in the cross-hairs of a sniper’s rifle.

Kasyanov, who once served as prime minister under Putin only to become one of his biggest critics in opposition, said he hoped the Russian president would speak out against Kadyrov. The Kremlin said it had not seen the video but would look into it.

Listen And Watch The Mechanical Symphony That Is An F-22 Raptor Coming To Life

To keep the Raptor’s radar signature at a minimum, small doors and vents appear seemingly out of nowhere during certain functions, reminding us that a fighter jet still lies beneath its spaceship-like appearance. Its startup sequence also looks and sounds like something out of science fiction.

Whereas the F-15 has its distinctive “howl,” the F-22 starts up with more of a banshee’s scream and a dragon’s cough:

Here is that distinct howl (before turning into a droning squeal) for comparison. Hearing something like a dozen of these things firing up at the same time sounds eerily menacing:

Syrian Army enters strategic town in northern Daraa

user posted image

The Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division has been rather successful in the northern countryside of the Dara’a Governorate as of late, seizing the imperative city of Sheikh Miskeen and a number of hilltops along the road leading to Nawa.

However, for the first time in several months, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division – alongside the 7th Mechanized Division, the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – entered the strategic town of Kafr Shamis in the Dara’a Triangle after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra.”

Upon entering Kafr Shamis yesterday, the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division and their allies seized several building blocks from the Free Syrian Army’s “Southern Front Brigades”, while also killing a number of enemy combatants.

Among the dead Islamist militants killed in Kafr Shamis were the following: Hussein Mohammad Al-Ziniqat, Mohammad ‘Abdel-Nasser Al-Deiri, Wahid Fawaz Al-Jahamani, and Wahid Al-Sweidani.

The town of Kafr Shamis was captured by the Free Syrian Army’s “1st Division” and Jabhat Al-Nusra during their large-scale offensive inside the Al-Quneitra and Dara’a governorates in the spring of 2014.

The Syrian and Russian air forces have launched a number of airstrikes over the Dara’a Triangle recently; however, it is too early to tell whether or not the Syrian Armed Forces plan on carrying out an offensive.

Syrian Army, Hezbollah launch preliminary offensive in northern Aleppo

user posted image

Earlier today, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in close coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), Kata’eb Hezbollah, (Iraqi paramilitary) and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary) – launched a preliminary offensive inside the Aleppo Governorate’s northern countryside in order to secure the farms around the imperative villages of Duwayr Al-Zeitoun and Bashkoy.

According to a battlefield correspondent on the ground in the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and their allies struck the Islamist rebel defenses at the Afghan axis in western Bashkoy, along with several farms surrounding the village of Duwayr Al-Zeitoun.

The battlefield correspondent added that the fighting has intensified between the Syrian Armed Forces and the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen at the Afghan axis; this site has been contested by both parties on numerous occasions, with the opposition groups seizing this point last time.

So far, there have been no reported gains made by the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies; however, any advance in northern Aleppo will be costly because of the large presence of Islamist rebel combatants along the Hariteen Highway that stretches to their main supply route in the city of Gaziantep, Turkey.

If the Syrian Armed Forces were to advance along this front, they could ultimately lift the 3 year long siege imposed by the Islamist rebels on the towns of Zahra’a and Nubl.

Nusra defenses fall apart as Hezbollah, Syrian Army capture Tal Jibbin in northern Aleppo

user posted image

The Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and Hezbollah launched a surprise offensive inside the Aleppo Governorate’s northern countryside on Monday morning, striking two different axes around the strategic village of Bashkoy in order to strengthen their positions near Handarat.

Not long after beginning their northern Aleppo operations, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – alongside Hezbollah, Liwaa Al-Badr (Iraqi paramilitary), the National Defense Forces (NDF), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), and Kata’eb Hezbollah – established full control over the village of Duwayr Al-Zeitoun after a violent battle with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen, Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

In addition to capturing Duway Al-Zeitoun, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies captured the Afghan farm in northeastern Bashkoy, killing a dozen enemy combatants and destroying two of their armored vehicles.

Following the capture of Duwayr Al-Zeitoun and the Afghan Farm, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies shifted their attention to the northern, where they launched a powerful assault on the village of Tal Jbibin.

The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies would officially seize the village of Tal Jibbin two hours later, resulting in a disorganized retreat for the Islamist rebels to the nearby towns of Tal Hardatineen (west) and Ahras (north).

If the Islamist rebels are unable to halt the government forces advance in northern Aleppo, the latter could expand west towards the besieged village of Al-Zahra’a and Nubl, which could ultimately end in the main Islamist supply route from Turkey being cutoff.

News Alert: Syrian Army, Hezbollah enter Al-Malaah Farms in northern Aleppo

user posted image

Moments ago in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – alongside Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), Liwaa Al-Badr (Iraqi paramilitary), the National Defense Forces (NDF), and Kata’eb Hezbollah (Iraqi paramilitary) – entered the imperative farm area near the village of Ard Al-Malaah after a violent battle with Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen, Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

According to a military source in the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies advanced from the nearby village of Handarat, seizing several farms that make-up Mazra’a Al-Malaah (Al-Malaah Farms) after surprising the Islamist rebels with a powerful assault an hour ago.

Mazra’a Al-Malaah was captured by the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, the Free Syrian Army, and Jabhat Al-Shamiyah last year after they countered the Syrian Armed Forces’ large-scale offensive to lift the siege on the predominately Shi’i towns of Al-Zahra’a and Nubl.

If the Syrian Armed Forces are successful in seizing these farms from the Islamist rebels, they will be in position to recapture the imperative village of Ard Al-Malaah that was also captured during the Syrian Opposition’s large-scale counter-offensive in northern Aleppo last year.

Syrian Army nears liberation of Nubl & Zahraa – Northern Aleppo map

user posted image

Yesterday afternoon, Syrian government troops – heavily aided by various Shiite paramilitaries – stormed and captured the village of Tall Jibin after launching a surprise offensive in northern Aleppo. Just a few hours later, the 4th Mechanized Division of the Syrian Arab Army launched another attack further south, thus seizing several farms in al-Mallah.

Since October of 2015, the Syrian Army has been heavily embattled with ISIS and Jaish al-Fateh in the eastern and southern countryside of Aleppo respectively. However, northern Aleppo has remained remarkably quiet over the past year as the frontline had previously settled for a stalemate. Nevertheless, today’s advance hints at the Syrian Government finally pushing to break a persistent Islamist siege on the predominately Shiite towns of Nubl and Zahraa which has lasted since the summer of 2012.

Just a few miles split Nubl & Zahraa from the government-held mainland in Aleppo; however, the area is heavily mined and littered with improvised traps placed by local Islamist rebels. The capture of Tall Jibin indicates that government troops are attempting to push around the mined area on the outskirts of Aleppo city as to outflank rebels and push towards the long-term besieged towns of Nubl and Zahraa. Meanwhile, especially Hezbollah fighters are highly involved in both the besieged Shia towns and the soldiers pushing towards this area.

If the Syrian Army was to carry out this pincer maneuver with this success, it would not only allow for supplies to reach the inhabitants of Nubl and Zahraa but also block Turkish supplies from flowing through Azaz onto rebel-held suburbs of Aleppo. As to add insult to injury, government troops at al-Mallah are just a few miles from having encircled rebels inside Aleppo city entirely. Effectively, Islamist rebels in Aleppo – largely represented by Jaish al-Fateh and Jabhat al-Nusra – could easily find themselves unable to protect several vulnerable frontlines across the province.

Hezbollah, Syrian Army capture Hardatineen in northern Aleppo

user posted image

Moments ago in the northern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – in close coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF), Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), Liwaa Al-Badr (Iraqi paramilitary), and Kata’eb Hezbollah (Iraqi paramilitary) – imposed full control over the village of Hardatineen after a series of violent clashes with the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Jabhat Al-Shamiyah, and Jaysh Al-Mujahiddeen this morning.

The village of Hardatineen is located just west of Tal Jibbin and south of Rityan; its capture allows for the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies to advance west towards the besieged towns of Al-Zahra’a and Nubl, which are also located along the Hariteen Highway that stretches to the Turkish city of Gaziantep.

With the capture of Hardatineen this morning, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies will now shift their attention to the nearby village of Rityan, where they are likely going to be confronted by a large Islamist rebel force because of its proximity to the strategic Hariteen Highway and the opposition strongholds of Bayanoun and Hayyan.

Last year, the Syrian Armed Forces briefly captured Rityan from Jabhat Al-Nusra; however, a large-scale counter-offensive by the Islamist rebels the following day reversed these gains.

Syrian Army launches massive offensive in northern Aleppo – Map update

user posted image

Earlier today, the 4th Mechanized Division of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) – strongly aided by Russian airstrikes, Hezbollah and Iraqi Shiite paramilitaries – successfully captured the village of Hardatnin and approximately 75% of Rityan village from Islamist rebels of Jabhat al-Nusra, Jaish al-Mujahideen and Jabhat Al-Shamiyah. Meanwhile, Hezbollah fighters and government troops from the besieged Shi’ite towns of Nubl & al-Zahraa stormed the outskirts of Bayanoun and managed to gain some ground during this offensive.

Effectively, Islamist rebels have had their Turkish supply line from Azaz to Aleppo city entirely cut off due to government fire control at either flank of their previous route of transport. Currently, less than 4 kilometers prevent SAA troops from reaching the government-held area at Nubl and al-Zahraa towns. Just 48 hours ago, more than 7 kilometers split these two areas apart.

Meanwhile, Islamist insurgents are also engaged in skirmishes with both Kurdish factions and ISIS militants further north – thus, due to thin rebel lines of defense in northern Aleppo, government troops have been able to capture 3 villages over the past 2 days without suffering substantial casualties during the process. However, several government tanks and bulldozers have been destroyed by TOW missiles supplied to rebels from Saudi Arabia.

If the SAA and its allies are able to capture Bayanoun they will consequently end more than 3 years of siege that has held approximately 35,000 predominately Shi’ite civilians at the mercy of helicopters of the Syrian Arab Airforce hauling in supplies. Furthermore, this event would happen less than three months since 314 government soldiers were freed from an ISIS siege at Kuweiris Airbase in eastern Aleppo province.

A WINGED ‘STRONGHOLD’ HAS APPEARED IN SYRIA

The distant radar-tracking detection and management aircraft (AWACS) A-50 based on the Il-76 may be used by the ASF [Aerospace Forces] of Russia in Syria
QUOTE
This air command point is capable of tracking up to 300 targets at the same time.

The source also clarified that the aircraft can detect aircraft objects at a distance up to 650 km, and land objects up to 300 km.
QUOTE
“Jane’s Defense Weekly” reported that Russia has already begun using the A-50 AWACS (NATO classification: Mainstay — “Stronghold”) in the sky over Syria to support the operations of its own aviation group in this country
QUOTE
A-50 received its first “baptism of fire” over its own territory — in Chechnya, providing a continuous radar-tracking field so as, as experts say, to prevent in 1994 delivery by air to the militants from abroad of weapons and reinforcement. It should especially be noted that on April 21, 1996 the A-50 plane on which equipment had been installed for directional heading on a satellite phone signal, intercepting a signal from Dzhokhar Dudayev’s device, transferred targeting to two Su-25 attack planes. When planes located the target, two rockets were launched on the cortege.

A-50s were also used in 1999 to monitor the actions of NATO aircraft in Yugoslavia.

Currently the Russia Aerospace Forces maintain about 20 aircraft of type A-50 and A-50U. New-generation A-100 “Premiere”, based on serial modification of the Il-76MD-90A aircraft platform, was chosen to replace them.

–Yes, but then on February 1 the MOD reported VKS strikes interdicted the assault on Deir-es-Zor and destroyed 23 IS targets…Which means militants can be tracked in real time, with strikes following thereafter.
QUOTE
condition of “airfield alert.” We know that usually an aircraft pair is in the “air alert” mode, cruising over a specified region. If needed, the “air alert” aircraft can strike assigned targets within 10-20 minutes, while the “airfield alert” aircraft can get there in no more than 40-50 minutes.
QUOTE
Stepping up intelligence gathering is necessary because certain well-known countries are still arming and supplying the militants, so their strength is growing.
QUOTE
Judging by available information, we have stepped up all manner of intel gathering, including using agents, which naturally nobody will talk about in public, says a GRU veteran
QUOTE
Military analyst Vladimir Karyakin believes that the Baghdad coordinating center plays a major role in facilitating information and agent-based intel gathering.
QUOTE
Right now, it appears that intelligence work consists of cooperation between the GRU and Syrian secret services, including the Shu-bat al-Mukhabarat al-‘Askariyya military intelligence service and the Idarat al-Amn al-Amm political intelligence service, which use their own agent networks in the war zone. Much in the Middle East can be resolved through “bakshish”, which means that if you are willing to pay good money you can learn a lot, as long as you can avoid disinformation

Biggest US-Malaysia Arms Deal in 20 Years: Kuala Lumpur to Receive New Attack Helicopters

MD Helicopters has been awarded a contract to supply six MD 530G scout attack helicopters to Malaysia’s military.

February 02, 2016

Malaysia’s Ministry of Defense has selected U.S.-based aircraft maker MD Helicopters to supply six MD 530G scout attack helicopters to the Army Aviation branch, Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat (PUTD), of the Malaysian Army, according to a MD Helicopters press release.

Delivery of the helicopters is slated to begin at the end of this year with the full fleet scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2017, the press release states. The contract is the biggest U.S.-Malaysian arms deal since Kuala Lumpur placed an order for eight F/A-18DS fighter aircraft in June 1993.

“We are honored that the MD 530G—our next generation light scout attack helicopter—was selected by the Malaysian prime minister, minister of defense and the chief of defense force (CDF) to be the newest addition to the Malaysian Armed Forces,” said Lynn Tilton, chief executive officer for MD Helicopters.

The MD 530G gunship was first revealed to the Malaysian public at the March 2015 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition. According to IHS Jane’s Defense Weekly, the helicopter is powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C30 turbine engine, has a top cruising speed of 130 knots (240 kilometers), and can carry a load of 862 kilograms (1,900 pounds) over a range of 519 kilometers (322 miles).

“The Malaysian Army’s fleet of MD 530G helicopters will include a custom weapons package, advanced communications capabilities, and state of the art EO/IR to detect, identify, and engage a wide range of threats,” according to the press release. Likely weapon systems will include the Dillon Aero 134H-D mini-gun, the Talon 70 millimeter laser-guided rockets and the FN Herstal HMP400 12.7 millimeter gun pods.

While the helicopter is capable of carrying up to four Hellfire missiles, it is unlikely that the missiles will be included in the custom weapons package, since the purchase would need to be made through United States’ Foreign Military Sales Program. As of now, no Hellfire sale to Malaysia has been approved by the U.S. State Department.

The new helicopters will be deployed in the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM), an area that covers 1,400 kilometers of coastline in Malaysia’s easternmost state of Sabah between the towns of Kudat and Tawau, where it will perform attack, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and security missions in support of the Malaysian Army’s operations.

We are extremely proud that our innovative aircraft will play an integral role in the PUTD’s mission to be a critical force multiplier for the Malaysian Army,” said Tilton. “We are confident our record of early delivery will continue with this contract and will allow the Malaysian Army to achieve significant operational successes in early 2017.

Western governments now appear set to ignore Russian malfeasance, not only in Ukraine and Syria, but at home in the EU, for the sake of fantasy and financial gain.

Watch a Navy Battleship Sink to the Bottom of the Ocean

QUOTE
The Mexican Navy sank a battleship off the coast of Rosarito, Mexico in order to create an artificial reef. Apparently, it’s the first artificial reef made in Baja California. GoPro shows the footage of the entire process and you can see the timed explosions and the rushing of water that cause the ship to be be brought down.
