Not a problem on vehicle with external power like av8 or even adnan
If vehicle is disabled at least crew can detach mounted machinegun and lug it around with reasonable effort. 1 guy (or even 2 in case of M2HB) carry the gun and others carry the ammo.
While you can detach a minigun to use it on foot, but it will be too much hassle (battery, weight, tons of extra ammo etc etc) to be much effective.

I'm a military fanboi for over 15 years, but 15 minutes ago only I learned that the FN FAL can be loaded with stripper clips. I guess you live and learn.
edit: needs a different receiver cover though.

for something designed and produced just after WW2, not surprising.......I miss having my M1 Garand in Video Games.....
Stripper clips allow soldiers to carry more ready ammunition (not loose ammunition) without carrying too many extra magazines. As the clips are smaller and lighter than a magazine, more ammo can be carried alongside those already loaded into magazines.
Also detachable magazines themselves are heavy, bulky and can be surprisingly prone to damage (any sort of dent on the magazine can misalign and jam the ammunition inside). While magazine loading is the no 1 choice nowadays, I find the capability of a magazine rifle to be directly loaded by stripper clips are a great option to have.
Many magazine rifles made in the era can also be loaded this way.

At least don't call it a tank boat .A tank has very thick armor (that I am sure this boat does not have) to battle enemy tanks. This X-18 is basically a military bimaran boat with a heavy gun for (ship-to-shore?) fire support.

i see, maybe after that mission they decided it is not of best interest to do so..
Well, in fairness they are there in a peacekeeping mission (not a combat mission) that depends on everybody knowing they are there. So a misplaced camo uniform pattern doesn't really detract from the mission at hand.
the desert version of the current (or soon to be replaced) rimau belang camo only made debut in 2006, so they have no desert camo available to them up until 2006
Dammit, I remembered I saw somewhere a pic of Malaysian soldiers wearing the US pattern 3-color desert camo....couldn't find it.
At first I thought we were borrowing Saudi uniforms, but on seeing other pics I see that the patterns are actually different, the MAF ones have bigger pixels and more 'boxy' than the Saudi ones.
This pic is so funny. What exactly is the purpose of lining up SAM batteries on the sand right at the water's edge? Something's funky with this pic.
It totally doesn't make any sense. And its not like SAMs need a clear line of sight to their target (S-300 launch vertically, by the way). Hiding them in some kind of cover in the middle of the island is much more tactically sound.
gotta be careful tho while loading Garand. quite a few has lost their thumbs while doing so
Can be eliminated by good loading procedure. The infamous 'M1 thumb' usually happens only with an unloaded Garand when users are cleaning it. Cases of the 'M1 thumb' are very rare during actual loading because the Garand's en-bloc metal clip will cover the space in the bolt where your thumb is in case the bolt decides to snap while you reload, if it does snap the bolt will just catch the clip itself.
Use the thumb to push the ammo clip in while using the other fingers of the loading hand against the bolt handle to catch it just in case it snaps and you'll be fine.

Even those who'd done the procedure thousands of time fell victim to the infamous M1 thumb
Sometimes due to mechanical issue or fault, but most times this occurs due to users fiddling the bolt while cleaning or inspecting the rifle. Not exactly anything to particularly look out for. Careful cleaning and reloading procedure can help prevent it.
Like most myths regarding the M1 Garand, this is highly exaggerated. It did occur very rarely, but not to the extent that we think.

China Shock: Beijing Almost Doubles Arms Sales Around the World
Not so shocking. Last time people only go to China for cheap, horrible clones of Soviet weapons. Now China produces very high-quality weapons, so people have noticed.
