QUOTE(Irresistible @ Dec 11 2006, 06:30 PM) Climbing Corporate Ladder in Accounting field I belief we're underpaid and this a trend in the working world. Starting salary for in the field related to accounting is quite low compared to other profession such as engineering as you said. But, i think with the intense competition out there, our ACCA is essential to help us to climb the corporate world. This is what my friend observed when he was working in a bank. I think what determines your salary is your experience. To gain those invaluable experience, join audit firm or a research company. I bet in 1 year you can learn 2-3 times amount of knowledge compared to other field......But, dont worry, people like tony fernandes, ceo of TM(cant remember his name) also can climb to such a high position in their group of companies. I dont think we're that bad overall.....Some Engineering students that receive a pay cheque of RM 2,300 claim that he is underpaid, what about accounting degree/ ACCA graduate?? For those that in Accouting field, how u sharpen ur skills or interpersonal skills to climb the corporate ladder ?? How much ur salary increment u get after probation or what position u r after 3 years of working?? An Accountant get as little as RM4,000 while a lot of IT Programmer or Engineer can get around RM3,500 after 1 or 2 years of working?? DO U THINK THAT IT IS BECAUSE ACCOUNTING IS NON INCOME GENERATING UNITS (Other than Bank or Audit Firm), therefore we are underpaid ?? I post this thread in <jobs & careers>, but no response at all. I WAN U GUYS OPINION !! |

QUOTE(b3llad0nna @ Dec 14 2006, 07:38 PM) Oh My Dear Geminist I think we have overloaded information in edu essentials section...people just asking the same questions and we repeat the same answer. IMO, the thread in edu essential shd be kept to minimum(just few pages) on information on tuition providers, lecturers, tips that will be updated from time to time....just my 2cents... Can You move the thread back to Education Essentials,Pretty pretty prettyyyyyyyyy please Maybe all the overwhelming spamming messeges was due to the exam fever stress I think the thread belongs back in education essentials, cause we do discuss ACCA alot all the time.. ryte? and new comers will be lost trying to find us In Kopitiam! QUOTE(coolly @ Dec 14 2006, 08:07 PM) ic...maybe becoz philip class is quite less..coz he only come once a mth i guess..and also one reason i think they want to train the new lecturer.. QUOTE(ahkun @ Dec 15 2006, 01:25 PM) pls log on to www.ksacitycampus.com (under ACCA-Lecturer) Well, last time when i attend mr Philip class(3.1), he told us that he wanted to conduct a tutorial class in M'sia(KSA) just like what he did in S'pore. He feels that this method is effective and the only thing that stops him from doing so the mgmt dont think that can be done here due to who is going to be the tutor...Now, im not sure whether that's going to be done here as i see jackson is not going 2 conduct 3.1.... u can find Mr.Jackson Chan profile. Quite OK. 16 years experience of lecturing and seminar presentation in auditing, strategic management ................................ OK already. Lecturer is 50% and Urself (hardwork) is 50% . if u had good lecturer but if u didn't study hard, also not use , right ?? Oopsss...thx HBK, my mistake, jackson is going to take 3.1 also....maybe they are using that method as i mentioned...try 2 ask the KSA mgmt la...i also no idea...
