maybank disabled online purchases using their cards by default since 1 jan 16. you have to call them to get it enabled.

U can check it by seeing the model number. Seldom people who claim get the Malaysia set. Most of it from Hong Kong or Singapore itself. Beside, on the box have written RFB/Seed unit.

You would definately get a seed unit. And a seed unit is not a new unit like you buy from an authorized reseller.

It is rare one will get a new unit as replacement in any claim. It is infact Apple policy to replace with refurbished unit . However one user here did said he got a new unit ??

The AASP personnel will tell you that its a brand new unit as usual. And as usual there will be believers.

Still remember at the launch of iPhone 3G, the screen was so yellow and the Home button didn't work, Maxis replaced with Refurbished unit within a week or two.

The unit was flawless despite knowing that it was a refurb unit.

Yup obvious sign of a refurbish unit. If brand new, they will open a new box in front of u.
I have no complains with refurbish unit. My refurbish is better quality than brand new bcoz Apple will have to go through a single item quality check after repair , to qualify it as refurbish.
Brand new units random quality checks - worse quality. That is why u send ur 'new' phone for warranty anyway.

Yes, don't be disheartened by a refurbish unit as it will be as good as new and goes through a QC check. Just check for cosmetic flaws as sometimes the shell of the phone is not replaced and might have some flaws.

depend comes with box or not. as i mentioned on my post before, i got with a box for my iphone 5 replacement. so, it all depend.

So far i see those replacement seed unit are all cosmetically perfect as new.

Can only change back as per what you purchased.

It will come with a little box which the AASP personnel will take back. So it just comes with a plastic wrapping only instead.

They will give you back the exact same model and colour.

What will it lack?

Because Apple only replace the faulty internal parts with new and replace the shell.

Refurbished units are worth it IMO.
