1 question
i saw Oedo-onsen on the front of this page
since im also travelling via AAX like most here and will arrive near midnight
and i'm travelling with my family so dnt plan to sleep over at airport
want to ask if its better go for a bath & onsen & sleep at Oedo-onsen or book a cheap hotel room around the area of my accommodation just to sleep?
which one would be a better/wiser choice?
and Oedo-onsen need to book room or not? or theres a place for ppl to sleep in?

a few question
im travelling around mid december BTW
1. are parks around tokyo like yoyogi park or shinjuku gyoen park worth visiting during at that period?
2. since most of us will arrive late at night, is it better to go to oedo onsen monogatari to rest and enjoy onsen thn explore odaiba at the morning before proceed to airbnb
or just book a day extra for airbnb and proceed straight to airbnb?

1.
Those trees starting to get botak.

2.
I try once, you need special pre-booked access only can go in at midnight. very expensive and sleep on tatami floor with another 30 people. some snoring so loud, really kanasai........
*
1. so many parks at tokyo to visit..if not so good to visit, might slot in other place to visit

2. i saw theres some "massage" type chair ..that ppl sleep on it?...but if cannot go in, why the midnight 2 buses stop there?
because i was thinking to go there, thn visit odaiba the next day thn only proceed to airbnb...smooth and no need to intentionally go odaiba again

I won't say to cover 100%, just that if Osaka what the most worth place to visit that all. Yea I know if want cover onc city definitely need to take longer. Just that this trip will be good if can covered the iconic places that all(again not all). There will be a second visit to Japan for sure. Even the forumer here sure have visited more than once.
*
based on your itinerary
i think he meant...cut down places and stay longer at 1 area to explore more
dnt jump different city every 2-3 days which is clearly not enough
most ppl here...if say their trip is 7 days..they'll stay the whole 7 days at tokyo(and its not enough)
or go osaka, they'll stay 7 days around that area too..they won't jump jump from osaka to tokyo for 7 days itinerary
im going tokyo for 8 days in december...im staying all the way at tokyo

want to ask a question regarding place for accommodation
what's the best area to stay for 1st timer?
i know its shinjuku because of AA's late arrival and theres a limo bus directly go there
but i saw most of the airbnb's there aren't located at shinjuku
they're either located at shin okuba, higashi shinjuku or sasazuka
wonder if theres still train that go to these station at night?
or is there other area thats also good and theres bus going there?

i've decided to drop the oedo onsen monogatari and straight to airbnb so i dnt need to haul the luggage the next day everywhere waiting for check in

Oedo Onsen was expensive and sleep on tatami floor only. I rather sleep at Airport Hotel much better.
Best choice was sleep at Airport Hotel or take limo bus to Shinjuku. At Shinjuku walk to those Internet & Manga Cafe.  You can rent a small room inside CC. Extremely cheap and free bottomless drinks too.

Those Internet speed are 30mb per sec. Used it for do homework.  brows.gif

travelling with family, not solo laugh.gif
so end up i dump oedo onsen and just want book 1 extra day of airbnb
and go there sleep, dump luggage there and start the next day fresh without having to carry luggage around
but found out most airbnb not located at shinjuku station....they're at shin okuba, higashi shinjuku or sasazuka
so wonder if theres train going those station at those times or able to walk or any other area better?
i saw some airbnb cheaper but at ueno

Last train all stop at 11.30pm - 12am.
You won't able to catch it.

Family also can stay a those Manga Internet Cafe just for few hour.
They have alot big comfortable  sofa for rest.
Drink some coffee or soft drink (Free) , buy some instant noodle if hungry.

If you already booked Airbnb then take Taxi from Shinjuku Station to your airbnb location. Since already at Shinjuku, wot be that expensive compare from Airport.  Shinjuku to Shin Okubo just 1.4km // 1,100 Yen , Walking also can be done. Tokyo street are very safe for walking at night.

Shinjuku to Higashi Shinjuku also around 1.4km // 1,100 Yen
*
thx, i went back to see the limo bus schedule
seem like they did stop at shinjuku washington hotel and higashi shinjuku station
and i saw some listing are close to these 2 drop points
should be fine
my theory is ..if im going to book accommodation, might as well straight go there and drop luggage
next day no need to worry abt time to check in and hauling that luggage around

Hi Sifu,

will be doing a self-drive at Hokkaido early Nov. got cheap tickets previously ^^

1) found the most value portable wifi rental @ RM33/day (with damage insurance), telco is Softbank 4G LTE and claimed to have better coverage there compared with Ymobile
2) found a 6d5n ground package with these itinerary (excluded the suggested stops and places to visit):

chitose -> noboribetsu (hotel sekisuitei)

noboribetsu -> hakodate (hakodate kokusai hotel)

hakodate -> lake toya (toyako manseikaku)

lake toya -> sapporo (mercure hotel sapporo  drool.gif )

sapporo -> otaro -> sapporo (mercure hotel sapporo)

sapporo -> chitose

Price depends on car and room type but one of the car i like is Subaru XV Hybrid  rclxms.gif save petrol i guess  icon_rolleyes.gif

Questions:

1) It stated that it comes with ETC Card but is there a place i can check their toll rate? What is the min reload i need to make?
2) My full trip is actually 7d7n, arriving early morning on 7th and leaving early morning on 14th. Any comment on the above itinerary and what other city to recommend? I plan to extend another 2 nights at Sapporo

Thanks in advance.
*
1. i found out the cheapest and most convenient pocket WIFI is travel recommends
its cheaper than all the one at japan
and direct pickup at KLIA2/1

Disneyland and Disneysea will take at least one day each. so you need to choose one of them if you're only allocating one day for the trip.
Kawagoe I think no problem cycling around.
Yokohama nothing much actually. don't think it's a must unless you really have nothing to do hahaha.
have you put Odaiba into your list? can easily spend one day there as well.
*
odaiba need one day?
i was planning on my itinerary, was slotting in odaiba for few hours for gundam, ramen and rainbow bridge view only
