Yes true, so far my machine can do almost anything that unmodded machine can do like updates, play online, download arcade game/trailer/themes from xbox live. Except can play halo game, others so far so good i think.

Base on my requirement, should I get a mod or unmod Xbox 360?
-I not very into online gun fire games
-Perfer Fighting (DOA4), Action (NNN), Sport (DOAX)& RPG (Blue Dragon)
-Not high earning worker

Last time I bought a mod Xbox but never go online as I think is not needed as most of the game I playd didn't require any update. Like DOA3, DOAU, DOAX, Ninja Gaiden & so so...

BTW, izzit that the Xbox 360 include Media center which can play PC file like avi, rm, wma, mkv & so so. I used to play on my xbox.

Where is DjiNn shop location? If conclusion is unmod Xbox 360, I properly will get it from him.

If you pick a modded, you're taking a risk. 3ROD comes in, RM1500+ wasted and no money to replace. If you pick unmodded you can get the warranty easily and most games are gun-fire so you won't have to buy too many games. Buying The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion(action RPG) will make you burn lots of time on a single game.

since u r a offline gamer, can buy modded/unmodded (not much difference) some very chun games, can save a bit to buy ori lor to show ur support

keep in mind some games buy original also not that expensive. new games around RM16X++, 2nd-hand/3rd hand games around RM8X++. i think djinn shop also rent out games so can try it for short single player games. cough..bullet witch..cough


another thing to rmb is u can dload gamedemos from xboxlive. for example, i dloaded lost planet/armored core 4 and realise the games, while nice to play, i'm too lousy to ever complete it (no gameshark codes here i'm afraid) LoL. so decided only buy a 3rd hand/4th hand/5th hand/budget rerelease copy later on when the price is right.

Can anybody tell me what is 3ROD? I been reading that if you buy mod Xbox 360, you will get attack by it. Izzit anyway avirus for Xbox 360?

BTW, where is djinn shop? Izzit located in Sg.Wang or Imbi? I heard a rumour that MS is going to launch Xbox 360 Ver.2 which can support HDMI. Is that true?

3rod is hardware failure and it strike on both unmodded or modded consoles. depends on your luck. it's a hardware failure due to manufacturing defect. do take note the best way to solve this 3rod issue is send back to microsoft for warranty. even though there are few tricks available to revive a deadly 3rod console, it will still get back the 3rod not long after that. if you wanna buy 360 do take serious note on this issue and most shops in sg wang all provide those socalled useless "warranty" and they even promise you 3rod can be fix!

wahhhh u guys got pirated game for rm 20 , in batupahat and muar or maybe in some johor area can get for rm 10 or rm 9 ... .. anyway if som of u got no ideas in spending money just bought 2 console, modded for multi-platform game and un-modded for label "ONLY FOR 360" games and xbox LIVE ... ... yeah ...

wow, im actually surprised by the number of unmodded console users here. is it due to the early users who have bought the 360 before any modifications became available...or people are actually skeptical about getting banned from LIVE?

also, is it true that pirated games for the 360 has a higher chance of failures and not being able to work when compared to the ps2 and xbox 1?

I was down at my friend's place the other day. Of the first 10 titles he got for his modded system, 4 do not work as intended, or at all.

1) PGR3 has the entire city of Tokyo missing. Loading any race there will hang the system. After a few trophies in, you simply cannot progress any further.
2) TH Project 8 gets into the main menu and character creation, but actually entering the game results in a crash.
3) PES6 simply does not initialise.
4) Full Auto also fails to initialise.

Now, some were bought in Sg Wang in late 2006. They are now impossible to change, given the VMY07 crackdown on pirated stuff in high tourist traffic areas. You're also not assured of a perfectly stamped disc, and many of these problems may come from the lack of any QC at all. I dunno about you, but many VCD/DVD movies artifact like hell towards the end of the show. Since it happens across different players, I'm thinking it's a disc manufacturing thing, or at least something to do with the disc.

Also, with pirated discs on the x360, we have found out that it doesn't take very many minor scratches on the disc surface to render it pretty much useless. Unlike the original xbox, or ps2, they'd run moderately scratched discs without a problem. Discs at my friend's place have always had a naturally high attrition rate (imagine a stack of discs in the open, with no covers...) but even the effort put into taking care of these new x360 ones can't help but result in minor scarring. That has resulted in a couple of faulty discs already.

But as always, YMMV.
