Depends on your radiator actually. Depending on the material, some manufacturers will tell you to stick strictly to plain water. No coolant, etc.

I thought battery water ada sedikit acid?
*
U kan pernah minum battery water. LOL

QUOTE(diversity @ Feb 15 2017, 11:23 AM)
some of the lights at my meter cluster are already WORN OUT. Some of the lights is flickering nonstop & pretty annoying. Went to some accessories shop to change the light bulb, but was told that the bulbs are all SEALED together inside the meter. Unable to remove, and if wanna fix I need to change the ENTIRE meter.

Any advice on how to solve this problem? If cannot change how I always see those ah beng mod their meter light colours to other colours like blue / red etc???
*
Accessory shops normally are able to mod it for u. They will need a heat gun or sort to open up those instrument cluster and soldering (Probably) to replace the LED. Normally only those bawah pokok mod ppl will do it. A good one i know that does these is Zoe Zen who operates a car boot lighting mod service in Ampang Point carpark.

thanks bro. You got any other recommendations around Subang / Sunway / Kota Kemuning / Putra Heights area?
*
Nope. But u can try ur luck by asking car accessory shops that do car lighting mods. Most likely they can do it.

My friend drives a Satria GTi, ori 1.8 block with MIVEC 1.6 head, huge radiator and Emanage tuned. Freaking power is stupendous! 162whp on dyno. I drove it and it was freaking powerful..

if like that why not ur friend just get a 4g93 mivec...
at least ori engine can sell than separate out the block and head...
*
stock gti is using 4G93 block. 4G93 block with 1.6L Mivec head will create even more power since it become slightly higher compression.

Meaning every 80k u will change the waterpump ? How long will the original stock proton water pump last?
*
Not necessary. Need to check first if your engine oil is leaking into coolant tank. Easiest way to check is to open radiator cap and wipe ur finger around the inside of there is some brownish buildup. Water pump only fails if there is too much gunk around the fan blade area or the shaft breaks.
Anyways its only RM70 each. Recommended aftermarket brand to use is GMB.

Does Persona have auto gearbox filter?

I've read the old posts in this group and many said no

But by googling it there's actually one inside the gearbox. Do we need to change it?
*
Yes there is. but to replace it you would need to dismantle ur whole gearbox to get to it. Would suggest doing that every 250k km as a preventive maintenance. Consider doing a mini overhaul for ur gearbox. Price around 1k.

QUOTE(kausar @ Jul 19 2018, 03:47 PM)
my boot bulb wont light up and automatic release boot wont function anymore. light bulb not damage as can light. anyone have the same issues?
*
common issues. the wire inside that plastic hose thing on the left of the boot putus. Simple RM30 can kautim in accessory shop. they will pull a new wire for u.

QUOTE(inferno_17_85 @ Jul 27 2018, 11:16 AM)
Might be engine mounting? Or perhaps you have taken the dashboard out to fix aircond before?

Most of my rattling comes from aircond vent, power window frames, and rear seat (nyik nyik ngek ngek sound). I've given up and decided to live with them.
*
Common issue to come from aircon vent, especially during cold weather or night u will hear the rattle even more prominently. power window frames rattle due to the support bar nut inside the door has became loose. just take off ur door panel and retighten all nuts.

Hey Guys,

Proton Persona Elegance(2012) user here. Yesterday, my car didn't want to start at all. whenever I start the ignition, i can hear it cranking but it does not start at all. we have checked the battery/sparkplugs and all is good. recently the ICM was just changed because of the same symptom. one thing I noticed is that, upon turning on the car (before cranking) the rev needle goes all the way to 8 and stays there.

Appreciate if you can please tell me what that means? also any recommended mechanic in puchong or USJ area?  Thank you and more power.
*
Check your crank angle sensor. Most likely kaput or wire near putus.

simple. take off door panel and just unscrew the bracket holding it.

Hi guys, need some advice. How much it cost for persona full ac service.
*
Roughly 650 earl 2017. Now probably 700-800.

anyone know how to fix the 'kok kok' sound when going through uneven roads especially from brake caliper?
*
Brake caliper kok kok? U better check that out. Most likely lower arm or dog leg bush worn out or worst drive shaft CV joint worn out.

Thanks @ZenGTMM. Any idea how much that is? Or perhaps any good shop to recommend? KL, Puchong, USJ area am fine.
*
Should be around RM180 for the sensor.. installation labor RM30+-.. Highly recommend to get Mitsubishi original part or Proton ori part as crank sensor is a very important component, if it fails while u are driving ur engine will die off instantly and fail to restart depending on the severity of the faulty sensor.

You can drop by here, search this address on GMaps. 17, Jalan PJS 11/8, Bandar Sunway, 46150 Petaling Jaya, Selangor
Bawah pokok workshop, but reliable and does a good job at reasonable price. Forgot whats the shop name, but its one of the 2 workshops there. The one on the left is a Peugeot car specialist. Go to the right one.

I bought in 2016 second hand persona with 400k km+ mileage. For the past two years I've racked up nearly 50K km mileage. But the auto gearbox still going strong, no problems whatsoever.

1k kind of heavy on my pocket  cry.gif
*
wow 400k km is taxi mileage. Yeah even my car never broke down even once. Only issue I had was slight leak on rocker cover gasket. I recently did some major parts change for my whole car which cost me around RM1.6k. Changing all kinds of bushes left right centre.

QUOTE(diversity @ Aug 1 2018, 07:24 PM)
2008 make car. Bought in 2016 second hand. And yes it was a company car driven by one of its staff everyday from Serdang > KL. Heavy mileage car. But really no problems with the gearbox whatsoever, still gear shifts like a dream  tongue.gif

But I keep thinking since its so high mileage, whether I should take precaution and do it or not  sweat.gif
*
If gear doesnt jerk when entering or ur engine doesnt slip gear when shifting then its allright. Telltale signs of repairs is when reversing u hear a loud whining noise or if the gear slips and engine rpm will jump a bit before engaging next gear.
