QUOTE(JUSTmee @ Aug 2 2018, 08:46 AM) Hey guys, i owned a 2008 persona 1.6 auto highline. 10 years, suggest changing front lower arm too. The bushes will most likely have worn out. Plan to change 4 piece of absorber soon. I'm looking at KYB gas type absorber, and thinking to change the front absorber mounting as well. Not sure anything else i should change it together like bush or other rubber part? Engine mounting and lower arm get schmaco brand from lazada.. Cheap and very good. 2x Strut mounting for RM97.50 and 2x Lower arm for RM200. Would suggest to avoid KYB, personal experience its softer than ori shocks making the car more floaty over uneven roads. Suggested to get Monroe if u want stock comfort level, or Proride Performance (Yellow color) for +20-30% harder. QUOTE(anakMY @ Aug 2 2018, 02:14 PM) More like no money to change car.. hahahaha. Actually i was planning to upgrade but most of the new gen cars are too heavy and doesnt handle as well as my persona. |

QUOTE(efariz @ Aug 3 2018, 09:08 AM) anyone knows where I can buy 'servo brake' for my 2009 Persona? Yes reasonable. Is ur persona B, M or H line? Those H line that comes with ABS and thus uses a bigger servo. The B and M line uses the BLM 1.3 single layer servo. If u are using B or M line, I suggest switching to a double layer servo from Honda VIRS/EK (commonly known as the dolphic eye civic). That brake servo gives a better modulation and progressive feel for the brake pedal as its double layer (ur current brake pedal have to press quite a bit before it starts to bite) and doesnt give too much braking power that will cause ur wheels to lock up easily.workshop quote me rm250..reasonable or not? Is it easy to install ourself? I like to DIY..hehe.. QUOTE(diversity @ Aug 3 2018, 11:10 AM) bro, Ok this is a common issue with workshops. Whenever u go to them for recommendation for a more 'sporty' feel shocks, they always use shorter stroke absorbers and stiffer springs, giving that very stiff and bumpy feel. It is only suitable if u are travelling on smooth roads like highway all the time. When it comes to B-roads u will suffer. My suggestion for street use sport absorber is to use long stroke/stock stroke sports absorbers with stiffer springs. The long stroke gives ur car the adequate suspension travel to smooth out those potholes and bumps on road and the slower rebound rate with the stiffer spring gives it that firmer grip feel instead of letting ur car bounce around with stock absorbers (stock absorbers are long stroke with quick rebound and softer spring to give that comfort feel, but dues to the softer nature ur car tends to nose dive or roll a bit excessively when braking or hard cornering). after I bought my high mileage hero Persona. I knew before hand the suspension is already quite messed up and making noises. So I brought it to a workshop nearby my house at the time...he changed the lower arms + shock absorbers etc. The brand is SACHS. Absolutely right bro, I think those racing & performance shocks/ suspension is really really very stiff. When I go through bumpy roads or even highways at a high speed (low speed bumpy roads need to jaga also la, steering goyang like sh1t), the car floats and wobbles easily even if its a small hole. With that being said, driving at a high speed especially need to pegang and hold the steering properly. If not car sure fly to one side For casual driving to&back from work it really sucks. But go North South highway when its empty mmg syiok la. At the time I thought aftermarket brand will be better, but really regret. Its not even cheap! Now wanna change to stock or the Monroe brand also cannot since wallet doesn't permit. Already wasted a lot of money on the car so won't do it anymore My top suggestions for suspension setup with absorber price as follow: 1) IMP Improve Comfort RM850 (sport absorbers with very very long durability) + Satria Neo CPS springs for the front and standard springs with IMP Comfort at the back. 2) Proride performance RM480 (yellow color not black) with Satria Neo CPS front springs and stock persona rear springs 3) Monroe Original RM420 + the same spring setup. QUOTE(benson92 @ Aug 3 2018, 12:11 PM) Should use PDT to check the error code first. Highly unlikely for throttle body to rosak. Most probably Gearbox speed sensor issue causing the error readout to ECU. Damage would have been around RM250 for the gearbox speed sensor. |

QUOTE(neochaser5 @ Aug 4 2018, 01:17 PM) Just want to give an update. I couldn't find the initial shop I'm supposed to go to so ended up at kakimotor instead. They scanned the car and said that there were no errors shown in the diagnostics. They mentioned that they have reset it instead-it sure if this is true. Ended up paying Rm60 for the scan. Lol.. they cant find any error but they reset it. If there was no errors means there wasnt any code to begin with. But RM60 is normal price to use PDT to check.QUOTE(tallrice @ Aug 4 2018, 04:39 PM) thanks sifu... Nope only the front springs are interchangeable between persona and satria neo CPS. The rear is different. the front will be roughly 1" lower after u swap neo springs in. i agree b and m line brake is too soft... i tried to do hard braking but the wheel still keep on spinning... for absorber i feel rear is a little tonggek for persona... if change to satria neo spring will it be even back the same level with stock rear spring? QUOTE(diversity @ Aug 5 2018, 09:38 AM) My original campro exhaust extractor got leakage Nope, just ur engine bay getting slightly warmer, and ur maintenance free battery dries up faster. Brought to exhaust shop, shop said can't fix and so I changed a aftermarket custom extractor since its cheaper. Noticed that the Original extractor's heat shield can't be used anymore. Will it affect the engine performance since there's no heat shield anymore? or the aftermarket extractor is alunimium so better quality? noticed that many people that did modding also don't have Aftermarket extractor is either Stainless Steel (better quality) or Galvanised steel (the standard shit u see everywhere). |

QUOTE(Tirek @ Aug 5 2018, 02:29 PM) Has anyone that use M line or B line change rear brake shoes ? FBK. Cheap and cheerful what brand that you use ? How to know the right time to change it as for front disc brake it will have sound but for rear i dont know the timing Depends if u feel the braking power dropping, or just change it every 100k. Do a brake shoe service every 50k, then u can estimate the amount of brake life left. Workshop normally open the drum and clear it off all dust in it and check for any issues. Relatively cheap to do too.. Shd cost around RM50. |

Stainless steel will be shiny polished look.Do you think its necessary for me to buy glass fiber exhaust heat wrap like this, possible to DIY myself? https://shopee.com.my/EGY-Titanium-Temp-Exh...39786.403916006 Thanks so much Nah dont think the performance improvement is worth it. QUOTE(MjMax15 @ Aug 5 2018, 07:23 PM) its galvanized Teach me master. All my batteries gone within 2 years except for once when it lasted almost 3 years. if wrap its better than naked lol but mine use naked almost 8 years now no problem and my century dry cell battery still holding well almost 4 years now QUOTE(The_FQ400 @ Aug 5 2018, 08:26 PM) Ran into Fubar once a few months ago in Da men USJ.
