My car cannot start,  not battery problem. How can i identify what the problem

Dear Persona owners, I have some questions to ask:

1. Where is a good service center around Shah Alam/Subang area? Need to bring my car for 50k service. If no good SC nearby also, can travel a bit to good SC.

2. Any recommendations for tint shop with good pricing? Thinking of tinting my car screens to block away heat. What brands would be good?

Is that that the one beside the KESAS highway? The one with the huge LOTUS signboard? 

My engine start to small oil burn..i think its time to replace the gasket..any advice?..

My mileage is 145k ++ already..

hi, all i know is if your car don't need Camber Bolts, don't change it. Because Camber is hard to run off with the original Bolt, with adjustable it will slip over time because it's designed to be adjustable. And most of the Camber Bolts sold by tyre shops are low quality, meaning they don't last long, someone claimed after 2 alignment you need to change the Bolts again (maybe you can tell me true or not). But 1 thing for sure you will need to do alignment more often compared to original Bolts assuming you don't hit potholes or run over speedbumps.

only time you need Camber Bolt is if you lowered your car to a point you need them to make further adjustments, or you ran over a big pothole or speed humps and your camber totally ran off, or accident. but if you can buy a high quality Camber Bolt it should be good, thing is tyre shop will give you low grade ones because they know they won't last and a year or 2 later they can sell you another set of Bolts.

mine was rm45 per piece, rm25 to adjust the bolts, that is rm115 just for the Bolts. my car did not have serious alignment issues (car never swerved. steering never vibrates), so i'm angry about it. because i know it will not be the same with these adjustables and i will run into alignment issues for sure.

so i'm asking where can i buy OEM Bolts so i can put it back on my car and whether it's same size for Upper & Lower bolt? and how much they cost. I know the Tyre Camber Bolts only rm5, can get high grade for rm11, and i know for sure they charge me rm45 surely it's the low grade ones. it's not about money, it's about the problem i will face with these bolts in the future.

the wheel not balance is because the low quality Camber Bolt they sold you, most likely ran off from it's original setting/position, so need to loosen, push back in, tighten again. however since you say not balanced, maybe need to readjust again. when was last time you did alignment? worse case is go to sparepart shop and buy high quality Camber Bolts, ask tyre shop to adjust, go to reputable tyre shops.

at least you still got your original.

Hi guys, I recently bought a used Persona Elegance 2010 (A) H-Line, absolutely love the car.

Wondering is there an official ECU update that I can do at Proton SC? Everything about the car top to bottom is totally fine, one small thing is the car downshifts pretty easily even very light footing, I usually have to let go of the pedal briefly to shift it back to a higher gear.

Even if this problem not cannot be solved, any benefit from updating ECU if any?

im looking for pesona elegance SE tail lamp (left hand side), used. anyone selling it?

Hi guys, I am looking for an used MT Persona, preferably around year 2010- 2011 that costs around RM20k. Most units I found online have about 90k kms of mileage. 

May I know what to check when testing the cars? I did read through the first page of this topic and understand the common issues. How about any other things that I should check?

In need of sifus help.

Recently got a 09 Persona M-line manual with 143k mileage but poorly maintained by my dad.

Here's a list of problems I've encountered..
1. Timing belt squeaky
2. Suspension squeaky at times
3. Highlight not working
4. Remote lock causes alarm to go off
5. Brakes vibrate
6. Odd knocking-ish noise from aircon

I only have a budget of 1k to fix as much as possible..any advice on where to start and where to service would be nice 😁

Ive seen some owners say timing belt change with water pump can cost anywhere from 500-800? Any SC or shop can do a good job?

Brake pads are roughly less than a year old...suspect its the rotors...

Hi guys, i havent driven my IAFM persona for 4mths. Today wanted to drive the car. Installed a fully charged battery, engine started. RPM stayed at idle, but cannot rev at all. The throttle got no response despite stepping on gas.Engine error light came on. Took out the throttle body to clean & installed back. Still the same issue. Tomorrow I gonna take out the MAP sensor. Anybody hv idea where its located? I didnt see it today as i was removing the throttle body. Appreciate yr advice on the issue. I seem to hv lost my OBD dongle also & can't read the error code. Btw, my car is a Manual not auto.

First time driving a Persona. I feel that the brakes aren't that efficient. Have to press A LOT to feel the braking. Is this normal? I've asked a few service centers and every auto mechanics say it's designed like that.
I don't think it's normal. (I've never driven a car with ABS. Poorfag  )

want to check with all sifus, any problem going up and down genting?

my 2009 persona (bought second hand) never been up to genting before, recently I saw some members also having the engine suddenly died when going up genting (rpm constantly 3k-4k for 10-20 minutes), even those who servicing on time also have this problem, a bit phobia now since im going this weekend 

'rocker cover gasket' ? Is that the one engine top part leaking?

My so call aeroplane sound since day 1 is there, after sometimes like not so obvious. After clean TB & some service become obvious again...
but my one is once start the engine is there 1, not follow RPM.

Oh... that part, I changed twice already for 6 years car... 

Change power steering oil? I also hardly change... few years once... 

I think it's normal... I used to do a lot of high revving in my persona.  Always got the sound

Not changing the power steering oil from my experience caused the steering to be not smooth when turning,  and heavy too.
