stock gti is using 4G93 block. 4G93 block with 1.6L Mivec head will create even more power since it become slightly higher compression.
lol.. my friend doing sales job he clock at least 100k km a year.. as he has to run everywhere in msia to deliver goods.
i pakai rev rev punya.. can feel engine no power ady.. go up genting check engine light will come out.  doh.gif

You were in genting few days or just a few hours?

If few days, from experience, the check engine light will come on due to the pressure and climate.

Will be sending my car for 200,000km service.

Any advice on what should be done / checked?

Will be changing the timing belt cause it is starting to make noise. And hopefully my mechanic can fix my bumper laugh.gif

The car is starting to feel underpower but don't know if it is because I switched from daily highway driving to being stuck on old klang road jam (changed jobs).

Consumption definitely went up laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

(hope the link works)

Guys, as you can see in the video, my dashboard lights doesn't dim/brighten regardless of whether the lights are on.

Anyone know how to fix this?

My mechanic said it's not the relay, could be the ECU.

Hi guys, my persona's dashboard light keep dimming whenever i started the engine and the headlights are not switch on. in my experience, the dashboard will only dim when you turn on your headlights. anyone encounter this issue before and how to fix it?
*
Am going through the same thing. My mechanic say need to open and check wiring. I have not done so because I just did major service, wallet got big hole already. Will probably get him to check it for my next service.

But for my car, if I press the foglamp button when the lights are off, the dashboard will light up. I do that as a temporary fix.

the problem is, my car is a base model, no foglamp at all lol.
Workshop can troubleshoot this issue?
I thought only car accessories shop know how to do?
*
Hmm you can try unplugging and plugging back the fuses in the engine bay area. Maybe it's loose.

I suspect is ECU or wiring problem.

Elegance model comes with body kit, right? I saw some persona with no body kits, those are non elegance model?
*
Elegance M-Line and H-line comes with bodykit.

Those without bodykit is the b-line or the 1st generation Persona.

Some distinctive appearance differences between Elegance and non:

1. Brake Lights - Elegance brake lights are horizontal (like Austria flag) while the non are round like Gen-2.
2. Side mirrors - Elegance side mirrors are rectangle and bigger.
3. Front lights - Elegance lights are... tinted? (looks darker la if lights are off)
4. Instrument cluster - Elegance is white and dims when lights are on, non is red.
5. Radio - Elegance has USB port and easily removed. Non look like you need to open the dashboard to remove the radio.
6. Bodykit - Elegance one look more sporty, makes the car look lower.
7. Sport rims - dunno how to explain but you can tell it's different.

First hand price for H-line is 59500. So should be about...25k now?

I suggest get a H-line or 1st Generation SE because you get added features like ABS, 4 disc brakes, airbags, cruise control, leather-like seats.

proton service center screw up my o2 sensor.
when there just to change the rocker cover gasket because oil has been leaking.

he simply take off the o2 sensor without checking it (or telling me) in the first place.
when he tried to put back the 02 sensor, he is struggling there, as all the wiring came out.
then he asked me, do you use the wiring?

so i told him off that was the o2 sensor, before you take it off do u check how was the wiring attached before?
he simply said 'oh i tak perasan tadi'.

he took at least 15mins - 20mins to figure out how to put back the o2 sensor, then out of sudden, he broke the clip (the clip is to hold the wiring).

then he told me my o2 sensor wiring is too short (i change my extractor 4 years back, the sensor is at the bottom, all the while no issue).

when he finally able to put the wiring (use black tape to hold it), after start the engine, 'check engine light' on.

he asked me to change to a longer o2 wiring, and he said it will cost RM 180++, and I have to pay for it.  ranting.gif
*
His mistake but you have to pay for it. That's Proton alright.

Every now and then, in the early morning when I first start my car-

When I try starting, there will be just a "TAK" sound with all the indicator lights in the dashboard out..but car doesn't start.

Only during the second time it will start. Is it normal? It happens every now and then.
*
If your car is auto transmission, switch gear from P to N and push back to P. Then try start the car.

is it normal, the radiator fan still running (to dissipate maybe extra heat) after ignition is off and why the coolant level at radiator keep decreasing especially I on long distant drive. Is it normal?
How frequent I need to top up the coolant? Is it normal if I need to top up every once a week
FYI my auto PE is 8 years old

Could be the radiator hose bocor already.

Mine had the same problem. The hose that is to the left, the one that comes from the radiator to the engine.

I’m not sure, how to check? I already ask my sc to check for any leaking but they said do not find any leaking. How?
*

You press where my finger is at, if bocor, the crack will be obvious, it will open up and most probably some radiator fluid will leak out.

Same goes to this but it will be hot if you just drove.

Already did this as per your suggestion and it seems there are no crack at both hose
I'm not sure but i already change the radiator to a new one and just service it at SC a week back. Mechanic at SC also did not find any leaking in engine area
Agreed

Is there a lot of radiator fluid at the spot where you park?

Most likely your radiator got crack already.
