Anybody own the leatherman squirt or juice?

Thinking of getting one as a EDC tool.

Only thing i am concerned is weight and size since i want to carry it one me constantly.
*
It is very small and light. It'll disappear in your pocket, you'll forget it's even there.

i got squirt...size is small.
but weight u will feel as its 57gms, even tho u may think its light, all those grams add up especially if u add in keys, led etc.
compare to something lighter like the SAK 58mm classic which is only 21gms.

I am not so concern about the weight since i carry very few keys or other items in my pocket.

The size is more important to me since i used to carry a leatherman wave overseas for work.

I am now looking for something smaller and lighter than my wave for personal use.

uhh ok.
1st say concerned about weight, now not.
and obviously it is small, needless to say its one of. Leatherman's smallest tool and also much smaller than wave.
so in that sense, i dont see what else is there to be concerned about.

Since i checked the squirts weight compared to my wave, weight is a non-issue.

Yeah, the squirt fits the bill so my concerned as been addressed.

dear friends

how do you handle a situation where you need to use your knife and your family/coworkers saw it and went hoohaa about it

have you been into such situation

recently i was using my gdc tech skin in my office and my colleague saw it

of course he would questioned why would i carry a knife

so i explained to him its for utility purpose exactly like i was doing just then

he asked to see the knife and so as a friendly gesture i gave it to him

and so he went and did those cool backhand grip with it and such as if he's a knife fighter or something

he said if this was to stab some people they would sure be dead

i was like of course but it's not intended for that purpose

a second time it was with the same colleague and again he asked to see knife

and again he made the same remark about how the knife could be use to hurt people

on a third time however when he said if the knife was to be stick into a pregnant lady and the inside would flopped out i lost it and rage at him for having such sick imagination and for having such mentality that make carrying a problem for people like us

now i know technically its kinda illegal for me to carry but this dilemma is also rampant among edc'ers in a more liberal country such as us where people are kinda cool with carrying a gun but not with a knife

so guys have you any idea how to deal with this situation

i have rooms to type in k, in here, but im not very good at explaining things to ppl.

so i avoid letting other ppl know or see that i have one. my ahpek coleague know cos but he had the same response like u experience.
sometimes he would buy fruits and ask for my knife. i had to pretend to go to my desk, get fr bag or drawer something but really its on my body haha

even among knife ppl. i guess because im of fairer sex. haha.

pointless lah explain to ppl who dont want to listen.

well, it took u sometimes to convince urself u r big enough to handle a knife in ur pocket too, eh? tongue.gif
i dont even know how to answer.. threat? just because u can, doesnt mean u will. or its not as easy as it looks in the movie. ppl who are trained in martial arts, do they go around n kick ppl freely?

like a always said, why worry of something u dont want to happen like having to stab ppl using sharp knife when u know other legal things u can do, not many didnt. like become millionaire for example. heck its a must to carry knife/parang in the jungle but not many ppl do even just that also. see what i mean?

yeah right now i carry my multitools less and less and opt for a proper folder

feels very naked without my folder when im out lol

the sentiment of having a knife thus it must be a weapon is really annoying

well atleast i had convinced my little brother multiple times why having a blade on your person is a good thing so i give him my old victorinox

i guess the main concern i have is not making people uncomfortable with the idea that im having a knife on me or when i pulled out my knife to use when i need it

i mean aren't you glad that i have a knife the moment you need them for cutting things like this past saturday i use mine to helped unbox my nephew's birthday presents

so from now i look for a small knife which would be less intimidating hopefully

i mean my gerber skin tech is smaller than a regular folding knife out there and my colleague already went apeshit what more if i carry my bigger all stainless shiny sanrenmu

it's the way he reacted is the most annoying thing though

EH NI BAHAYA NI KALAU POLIS NAMPAK KENA TAHAN NI

EH NI KALAU TIKAM ORANG MATI NI

loud enough for other people to hear

no shit sherlock that's why i dont wave it around like a maniac on public and stabbing people casually with it

you're a responsible knife owner. your colleague needs to know this. the same way that you very well could use your car to run him down after office hours. you dont do it because youre a responsible driver.
cars with irresponsbile drivers kill more people than pocket knives ever will.

also. stop hanging out with that colleague.

I have gotten to love the smell of tuf glide. and lithium batteries.

we are actually having this discussion on the cutting edge facebook now,
for lubrication
tuf glide, militec, singer oil, benchmade blue lube, victorinox oil, and a really good one is if you have the fishing lube. daiwa oil that sort of thing
for protection
tuf glide, militec, singer oil, vaseline

my personal preference is fishing reel lube. and tuf glide as corrosion resistance.

I noticed that the tuf-glide lube last very long, but the problem is the smell stays on for a long time.

A month after it still has the lingering smell, i am worried it will transfer to my pants. Since i have some knifes which i store in a ziplock bag, now that bag smells of the lube.

wow

that is one knife to be misplaced though

dont you find carrying a full size knife and a multitool like that a bit redundant though since the leatherman had already a blade on it

Well other than knife, flashlight, or ifak somehow at some level everyone is practically edc their wallet, phone, keys or even a sak at the very least. The first core of essentials.
*
i would say SAK would be sufficient for EDC actually. mine just what i prefer and most of it are use for EDC and camping trip.

when crazy for a week misplacing that knife. its a habit carrying a folding knife. feels awkward without one. the multitool sits on my belt so i dont really feel the different.

its just my system and what i prefer to carry. not really a must for everyone. i like to have it there when i need it.

Sikit2 jadi bukit bro. I'm waiting on my leatherman and paracord bracelet. Would consider a folder but the laws are pretty straightforward about bringing them around, so I'd rather not waste money and get it confiscated. Will post my EDC when all the parts are in place! Hehe

some old EDC prepper guys told me this. the law is actually bendable. most of us got pass police no problem. i once when into putrajaya government office with that knife. only need to leave it with them. done my thing there got back my knife. no problem. but thats just me. devil.gif devil.gif

actually my leatherman is also illegal since it has lock mechanism. the knife must not have lock mechanism. if anyone want to be completely safe carrying a knife. i would say SAK is the way to go. no lock and below 3inch. just nice thumbup.gif

i once have the para bracelet but i dont really find it useful sweat.gif instead i carry a paracord with me. how about share what EDC bag you guys carry. your system. that be nice too! rclxm9.gif

how to pass the cops

i know the law is grey at best and not exactly black and white

I'd read a version of that you said knives with no lock and blade less than 3 inches is allowed

being governed by the Brits i reckon our knife law is similar

I'd also read a version that never mentioned anything about blade's length or locking mechanism

i dunno what is real anymore lol
