RN3 import is cheaper than RN2 official...

I think official RN3 pro will cost at least 7xx... buy import RN3 (X10) using Lazada, RM590 or so...
*
yeah i bought from lazada with CNY discount RM59x..

btw ytd saw GEM5IVE selling after discount is RM57X

perhaps lower price due to MY xiaomi announced that malaysia will start selling this april and the phone come wit snapdragon

hmm most probably not compatible... different kernel
so guys, pls refrain from buying any further china MTK variant lo..

My greatest for Mi Malaysia set is they ALWAYS bring in the lower version (16Gb). Just like the previous RN2 16gb... no prime 32gb vmad.gif

But since there is SD card support... ok la, I close one eye lol

but i am sure the malaysia price will make alot of buyer back off. MTK version still better choice if you know how to flash the rom. RN3 prime price point, better get you go and get the Mi5.

MTK RN3 <- Cheap

SD RN3 Prime <- Not worth to get now.

Mi5 <- Better spec, high base storage.

If they follow the price they sell for China market, I think the price for 2gb/16gb model should be around Rm699-729. That includes GST and some of their profit.

RM500+ to RM700+ that why i say MTK version still very competitive. You either go cheap or go pro. SD650 not that great i guess.

MTK version more than enough for whatever you normally do. If you need gaming or else, mi5 is better option. SD650 is middle of somewhere.

For me SD650 is better than Helio x10 in terms of CPU, GPU, and heat management (heard they solve SD615 overheating problem already). Plus you get local warranty, SD card slot and global ROM too.

We don't know price yet for both RN3 Pro & Mi5 so can't compare now.I just hope they bring 32GB option here to.

Test this 1st then see how it performed then see Mi5 review and price if release at Malaysia la.

SD650 promise better battery life than mtk version, that's what matter for us

and s650 is indeed a beast, its on par with s810 ,as tested by gsmarena, without the heat problem

For me its SD card support.

Also most app run well on snapdragon maybe most developers focus on it?
16MP camera is an added bonuses.

Why are you say so? Could it be that developed countries had created an advantage in design and manufacturing that worried the low-cost producers in Asia?

"For Antoine, the thinking was sparked by comments like those he heard in conversation with David Ku, the chief financial officer of Mediatek, a leading designer of chipsets for smartphones and other products, based in Taiwan. It was the spring of 2012, and Antoine, newly free from the responsibilities of managing the multibillion-dollar investment firm he founded and built, had been traveling through Asia, discussing with senior business executives and political leaders the challenges they saw to the competitive advantage they had held for the past many years in the global marketplace. Ku, who has experience in the global financial industry in addition to his career in high-tech manufacturing, was showing Antoine around the Mediatek facility in Hsinchu City, when Antoine asked him about the global market. “You know,” Ku said, “We are facing much stronger American competition again.” Antoine asked him to elaborate. What kind of competition? From whom? Ku, who earned his MBA from the University of Illinois and understands the American market, immediately mentioned Qualcomm, the tech giant based in San Diego, as a particular threat. “Their R&D is so advanced, so far ahead of ours,” Ku explained. Antoine saw that Ku was genuinely concerned about the situation. “They can easily squeeze us,” said Ku and then changed the subject. Antoine, who coined the term “emerging markets” in 1981 when he was at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private-sector-oriented affiliate of the World Bank, and had spent much of his career focused on Asia, had not heard an Asian businessperson complain about being squeezed by American competitors for at least two decades. Was Mediatek an anomaly? Or was this an early signal of an important trend? Could it be that developed countries had created an advantage in design and manufacturing that worried the low-cost producers in Asia?"

Feel sad for Taiwanese manufacturer indeed.
