Guys, i just bought this phone and it was under Miui 7.1.1.1 stable rom.

Im thinking to flash it to 7.1.6.0, which i found it under ---> http://en.miui.com/download-295.html

But when i go through the flashing guide, there are 3 methods stated there.
1. system update
2. recovery update
3. fastboot update

which one shall i go for? any advice?
*
hmm... seems like you got an official rom. Just do a normal system update...
only those with vendor rom need to do full fastboot flash update.

recovery update only available for those unlocked their phones..

edit: is 7.1.1.1 an official rom? eh I think I got confused already... too many versions rclxub.gif doh.gif
should be a vendor rom....

so your advice is to flash to 7.1.6.0 instead of 7.0.22.0 ?
*
Xiaomi no longer offer 7.0.22.0 rom on their site. I found this on the net don't know can work or not la...
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1i4lKbv3
still, if you wanna test it out then do an manual package update via developer rom.

optionally, you can try SphinX rom which is on 7.0.22.0 too but it is a custom rom la. No chinese bloatwares + Full gapps installed + Rooted

you trying to flash with sp tools right? Need to switch off your phone first. Click download and plug in your phone WHILE holding onto the volume down button. You can release it once you see the yellow bar progressing

I thought only RN3 powered by Snapdragon might be officially available locally? Only this model will have Global Rom.

Not sure about that now. At first they say it's china exclusive only and then now got sirim rumours. THEN got indian market pro variant soon release rumours pulak.. dunno which one is the truth...

Is it a bug or Xiaomi really doesnt hav video call? I might b buying Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 or Xiaomi Redmi 3, bcause of its fabulous specs. & price.
*
....you mean android doesn't have any build-in video call right? Coming from an iphone, the answer is no but you can use skype and or google hangout to do video calling. it works smile.gif

I am on 7.1.6.0 after flashing. So far so good. Just need to read a bit on how to install Google Apps. After which is working perfectly on every apps that I am using, only the GPS on Google map give some issue but was later solved. Battery seem lasting well too.

BTW for those who want to flash, just do it, it may seem a bit difficult at first with all the dos and donts but is really not, just make sure u on USB debug by going in developer mode. Throughout the whole flashing process even u have some hiccup it won't spoil your phone, don't worry! Again just remember USB debug, I think this is what kill the phone if u forgot to turn it on
*
hmm i never switch it on in all my flash attempts sweat.gif
be it custom or official, no problem wor...

so far no official global rom. the ones comes with your phone are modified by vendors themselves and contains spywares...
