Hi im a celcom prepaid user ( cant afford using postpaid, and my plan is the one that has no expiry date until 2021)
Since im not a heavy user and I always wondered why my prepaid balance always get to 0 quickly eventhough I dont really use it . Turns out that ive been charged for service charge and I didnt even subscribe to any of the (funky) messages. These are the messages from 22990, 39919 the one that has mms sent to me. Do you guys have any idea on how to stop it? or should I just get a new number.

I think you can just reply STOP to that number

Best Solution would be request Celcom to block these content provider.

Complain to SKMM. Call celcom and demand them to stop that. Demand, not request. If there are 1000 messages and you need to reply stop to all the services it's rediculus. So far Celcom is well known of those auto subscribed services.

Thank you for the solution. Its supposed to save me money by using prepaid but end up the other way around.

Just switch Telco.
If Celcom don't want to take care of their customer,
better leave them for good.

First, attempt to resolve your immediate problems:

1. If you're out of credit, get someone to transfer to you exactly only RM1 credit. Ensure your credit is less than rm 1.50

2. For stopping 22990, please refer to NSR's post here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3515605/all

3. Block any calls from 22990

4. Send STOP ALL to 39919

Next, lodge your complaints to get your refunds.

TS here, asked the customer service and their reply was to send STOP MMS to all the five digit numbers. Then, I asked them what measures can I take so that this thing will not happen in the future they said they cant really do anything since its comes from 3rd parties. So sayang want to change telco tho cause I want to find plan that has no expiry date or very long expiry date.

Go to celcom.webpage, there have a contact us, write in and wait. Typically takes about 3 working days

I'm using onexox now and so far the only sms verification that are blocked are myteksi. I didn't face any problem for other service so far

If you hardly/never/rarely use MMS then turn OFF mms auto-retrieve.

Contrary to popular beliefs, telcos are unable to block 3rd party 5 digit content without SKMM authorization or at the very least customer authorization in writing. As much as I dislike how it is being done, I don't make the rules. There are legal wrangle that I'm not qualified to argue.

So far, the only effective remedy is lodging a complaint with SKMM.

The other remedy is switching to another telco although there is some risk that some other 3rd party content may "infect" you over there.

FYI, current telco offering long validity are (in alphabetical order):

1. Altel - mnp to get automatic 365days with 1st RM50 topup (no further topup necessary). 365days validity at rm28 available for future purchase (rm30 topup required within 6 months).
2. DiGi - 365days SLL validity for RM38 (no further topup necessary)
3. OneXOX / XOX - mnp to get 28 months validity. Validity is extended with new topup.
4. TRON - get 365 days validity with every RM10++ topup.
5. Tunetalk - 365 days validity for RM28 (no further topup necessary)
