1. Brand: Any
2. Budget: Below RM 1200 or max RM 1500 if it makes a difference in specs
3. Specs:
    - (#1 priority) Best rear camera for this budget.  Including low-light camera performance.
    - Good battery life
4. Type/Size: Any

Currently am using Samsung Galaxy Note 5 as my primary.  Thinking of getting a second phone to use as camera on vacations.  Stupid idea?

Noted a similar recommendation on OnePlus 3T 64GB.  Any other for consideration?
*
I would go for Sony Xperia XZ. It is currently on sale at RM1.4K

Hi Lowyat-ians, need help seeking what brands/models to seek out to buy. The specs are a little tricky, but do help recommend if you know any that fits the criteria smile.gif. Any help is appreciated:

1. Brand: Any

2. Budget: RM400, maximum RM500

3. Specs:

a) MCMC certified
(can check their IMEI using "Check Your Label" app at the shops later on).

b) Dual Sim (not the hybrid kind, but separate SIM 1 + SIM 2 + micro SD slots) - travel a lot, so one slot for home-sim (internet data for roaming is cheaper than buying new, another for local sim for emergency calls.

c) got LED notification

d) got backlit Home button

e) RAM: 1gb at least/optimum (2gb is okay, but they tend to contribute to battery draining, or so I heard).

f)ROM(internal memory): 16gb at least

g) Processor: 1Ghz at least (single core is fine too)

h) Battery: at least 2500mAh (but if RAM 2gb, at least 3000mAh)

i)Android: Android 5.1 version

j) got LTE Band 5(850Mhz)

4. Type/Size: Not more than 5.5". Less is better (to fit in pocket)

Please help recommend any models smile.gif Thanks a bunch!

The closet to your requirement is Honor 5X. You can get it online at RM499. It has on screen navigation button. You might want to check on the GSM band

Sony Xperia X. Selling at below 1K now online. Battery life may not great but the camera should be good for the price range.

Which one is better to buy?
500-700 budget

I would suggest Redmi Note 4 due to the budget. Nova 2i is above RM700.

Hi sifus, can you recommend me a phone with the specification as follows:
1. Brand: Any
2. Budget: Around 2k
3. Specs: Need not fancy high technology spec. Heavy use of whassap, wechat, phone call, browsing, need a long-lasting battery as well. Reliable
4. Type/Size. Preferably light and easy carry.

Thank you.
*
I would suggest Honor View 10. It retail at RM2.1K but you should be able to get it below RM2K.

Pro
- Support dual sim 4G.
- 128 GB internal storage. Great for whatsapp storage.
- 3750 mAh battery.

Cons.
- Camera is average.
- Design is plain.

RM 2000 budget

Good battery life, good camera , performance can be normal since it's only for call messaging browsing

Most important .. Waterproof ...

Any recommendations? If no good battery but can have very fast charge also can
*
Samsung Galaxy Note FE. Battery wise may not be so good but has fast charging.

htc u ultra vs xiaomi mi 6/ note 3
which is better?

I am not sure if you can get a Mi 6 for less than RM1.5K for Malaysia set. If you can, Mi6 is a good option.

Bigger screen -> HTC U Ultra
Newer hardware -> Mi 6

I would not recommend Mi Note 3 since it is an imported set model.

Claiming the warranty could be an issue. Make sure you get a reputable seller which honor warranty claim and know how to fix the issue.

Isn't that like 3k? What bout honor v10?
*
It was the Mate 10 Pro that was priced at RM3K+. You can get a Mate 10 (no Pro version) for less than RM2K online now.

If camera is your priority, the Mate 10 is a better option. The camera hardware is better than View 10.

Otherwise, the View 10 has better value.

if you can increase your budget to RM2K, you can consider Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 or HTC U11.

Thanks for the 2 suggestions.. the mi mix 2 full display phone looks to be fragile if dropped thus trying my best to stay away from those type of screens.. HTC U11 > Honor v10 & Honor 8 pro? HTC phones still on top of their game?  Initially budget limit was 1.5k but then can add another +- Rm200.
*
HTC is not on a top brand anymore. But the U11 should be a good option.

1. Brand :Leaning towards Moto because I am coming from a moto X 2013, and quite used to the moto functions, ie active display, always on voice, camera twist and so on.
2. Budget. : Around 1000+. I really dont think I can justify spending more than 1100 on a phone.
3. Specs. : Decent specs to last for a few years, I usually dont chane my phone for 3-4 years.
4. Type/Size.: Screen size not too big, should be able to use with one hand.

I am just having trouble choosing a right replacement to my Moto X 2013, which is starting to give some issues. Every other phone is just looks pale in comparison with my moto x 2013 or either out of my budget range.
*
Sadly, the price is not what it used to be. Nowadays, RM 1.1K can only get you a decent mid-range phone.

If you not in a hurry, wait for Moto G6 plus. Otherwise, you might want to consider the Moto Z or Z play (2016 models).

Maybe a Huawei Nova2 plus. The 128GB of internal storage should be sufficient for your apps.

Sifussssss, I have narrowed down my choice between P10 Plus, mate 10, and view 10.

I mainly use my phone for games, work, movies, browsing, etc. My budget is below 2k, hence those models. Which model has the uppercase?
*
I would say Honor View 10.
