why not start a honda club so that all honda drivers/supporters/fans can join?
just my opinion

Well, that would be too BIG to handle I think. Beside, it will lose the focus. Actually we started this thread by asking questions about Civic. So eventually it gathered the Civicians here. We used to be "Honda Civic EG Club" because most of the members are driving a EG (5th Gen Civic). Then we changed to Civic Club to welcome any Civic drivers here to join the talks. Of course, as the intro post mentioned, we welcome any Honda fans here to join us, whether you drive a DC5 or Honda Bike.

Lately my car aircon compressor got problem and clutch plate kinda wearing out so my car might be under powered and not performing up to par. So, might not get the feel or kick with this condition.

Aman Suria entrance from LDP is near the Kelana Jaya LRT Station. I'd been there once. That place is famous for car gathering I think, cause I saw many JDM sports cars there that night. NSX, RX7, RX8, Evo, Impreza, Silvia, Celica, Supra, Civic... you name it!

Yea. i was thinkin of having our own sticker? Not necessary the big big sticker for the back mirror. But u know, just a small sticker enough to fit "LYN Civic Owner's Club" where you can stick it at the door's mirror too. That'd be cool then if pass by kakilang oso we know ma. Can flash flash and horn horn too..

This thread is for the fans of Civic (and Honda). Last time Egiewan wasn't driving a Civic also, but an Accord. Then kena poisoned and changed to ES K20A VTEC. See now he so shiok, always wanna tiong me, but luckily I haven't exposed my number plate to him yet.

Nah, it's nothing big, it's not as fun as a turbo and the torque is not that high. It's still a NA afterall and vtec is so common lah.

But if you wanna check it out just go youtube and type vtec and see for yourself.

Hmmm... Well when you accelerate to certain speed/rev, you will realise it's very hard to go up more. For my EG with D16A SOHC (redline at 6.8k), when I reach 160km/h (5th gear, around 4.8k rev), it's very very hard to push it anymore. I think I already floorded the pedal. Well, even though I didn't drag it from the start (Federal Highway, how to drag? ), but I think the difference is minor. So, imagine when you're at that speed, running out of power, then VTEC kicks in, you feel the power from the engine at 6k rev, then your car boost like 3-5k rev...!!!!!

Hahah, we should've started V2 sometime ago. Now still setting up the first few posts for info related post.
The TT... also delayed many times already. Hopefully we get the first one running well.

IMHO, turbo got loads more to maintain, the parts, the accesories are never-ending. Sure, the power injected is much higher, but the fuel consumed is also a bigger burnt in ur pocket so vtec is really for me just for a lil fun. I dont need such drastic power as i'm quite a safe driver so vtec is fun enough, and i havent even talked about the manual k20a yet i'm only on a crippled k20a3 n i'm not complaining already hahaha

interesting.when will the TT be held?if its this weekend i wont be able to make it.the surge of the VTEC cannot be compared with the one of a turbo.to be honest unless i have a real stable and solid car (civic naturally, 7th gen looks good enough and should be able to take the new 2.0 mugen engine) there is no point in pushing it all the way worrying that the chassis might break or something might go wrong. I seem to be bored with speed already as well as acceleration

Well vtec is just pure fun to drive. I had tried supra with 500+ hp with loads of torque (bloody hard to hold the steering), Mitsu GTO , mitsu Starion (use to be my ride), subaru wrx , Evo 4, R33 and also cefiro with RB20. All these cars have crazy amount of torque and my blood was pumping when I boosted them.
I have to agree that vtec can't compare with them but, B/K series engines are really fun to pedal when you really try them.
I don't know man, but I never get bored with speed and acceleration as they vary among cars, and the kick in them always pumps my adreline.

Maybe you drove better rides that's why you got bored of it (ferrari, lotus, lamborghini)?

heard lots of my fren said turbo not nice to drive...the 'sioks' thing only come form the 'buzzzzzzz' the blow off sound. i never tried on turbo car..so dunno whats the feel leh

Hehehe, no la, i havent been trying a lot of cars. Its just that i have to careful with my current car (technically not mine la but i am driving it).
Its kinda heartbreaking knowing my chassis cannot take the strain of hard driving so i have to drive slow now, besides waiting for a better will be nice when i am working later on in life.
I have my sights on the 2.0 civic 7th gen.Hehehe, drop in a 2.0 mugen engine and let the fun begin.Body should be good enough to handle all that power and you can throw it about without worrying about it since it is quite new.

Yeah, Turbo (or pressure-charged engine) sure have more torque and power to go faster. Why? Because they use more fuel. What makes VTEC unique is the engine itself is NA, and yet it can change camshaft profile to a high performance engine for the need of speed and power. If you don't engage VTEC, it's just be your daily-friendly driving urban car with fuel-saving consumption.

I like my Civic, because it can be a daily-use car, and as well as any sports car out there.

Just jalan straight only then there will be a right turn but still considered straight la You will see Dataran Prima on your RIGHT

But that only applicable on DOHC Vtec rite?

Well, I've just tried them but don't own them. Actually turbo cars are nice to drive, just that during cornering you have to be careful not to engage the turbine as it might be dangerous and hard to control. Worst scenario, might spin out.
Basically turbos are king for straight roads. The feeling of G's when boosting is pure orgasm. Basically, you just stick to the seat when you boost.

There's a forumer here who drives a EG hatch with turbo kit. I know his car is bloody fast and I hope to hitch a ride in his car too.

wanna ask about rims suitable for honda civic eg8 17inch or 18inch and tyres that suitable for those rim size. any recommendation?

17 and 18 will affect the car's pickup and FC bro. Just stick to 15 or 16 inches. Honda's all play 15 and 16 inch rims only. But if you wanna go bigger, 17" is the max. 18" too big la...not practical

If nothing big comes up, should be ok with me. But night time is kinda hard to take pictures. Maybe I'll try to bring a tripod with camera, and see how it goes...

By the way, someone who's familiar with that place please draw a map to show those how to get there from LDP.
