Don't worry, i'll prefer 205 anytime  biggrin.gif

Since the grip not good, what about other brands? Good year?

The main thing for me is comfort, quiet and good grip.

Ok noted. May be i'll choose 205/55. Ya, toyota parts are not as good as those days and it's pricey!  mad.gif

I think there is no XM1 for the size i want in michelin. They only have PP2 and one more i can't really remember. Both are quite expensive. I've been looking thru continental. It seems ok but what u guys think?

Since both of u are quite well verse with it, pls suggest a good brand for me. Main thing is comfort, quiet and good grip. Thank you. smile.gif

there's 1 more pattern which is michelin mxv8 205/50-16 but not easy 2 get n rare~

tek ming price, be careful whether the price is just rubber or you must leave your rubber there (something like free trade in, they give u lower price compared to other shop, but they take your tires free). compare the price first.

also, they have the tendency of forcing you to change to aluminium (or stainless steel?) air tube, which priced a bit higher than other shop (few ringgits only). other than that, service is fast.

btw adrian,

those prices from hin leong is for what size? 195/55/15?
*
not only tat~
but also must b carefull wen getting 2ndhand tires from them~
cuz i personally was brought over by my fren there n i've seen many rethreaded[potong bunga] tires selling there n they said 2 me n my fren very good tires n got 50% thread n selling it for rm50 per piece 2 my fren's kenari aero sport~ shakehead.gif shakehead.gif
then went off 2 another shop nearby n get same size n pattern but non rethreaded tires for only rm45 n terus pasang n cabut

QUOTE(|34k4 @ Mar 22 2009, 09:45 PM)
Hi guys,

First timer here. I'm driving a 2007 Honda City 1.5 VTEC, and it's about time to change the tires (the thread's almost botak), not looking to up the rim size to 16"s, but would like to find a nicer set of tires that's quieter and has better grip on the road (very aggressive driver brows.gif )

Anyone know the maximum measurements I can get? I'm actually looking for 185/50/R15, but would like to know my options.

Thanks ya.
*
i think u're getting 195/50-15 issit? ? hmm.gif

there is this time when i juz aligned my car with old tyre, then after 2 weeks i changed to new 912. guess what, the car still goes straight line without holding the steering, but my steering has tilt few degree to the right side.

it is always advised to aligned your car when ever u changed/rotate your tires.
*
it's normal~
u can even DIY back manually~
jus use 17/19 n 12/13[all proton except neo n perdana]
at left side tie rod release 180* turn n right hand side tighten 180* turn n u'll get back ur steering straight~ thumbup.gif

Ipoh...
sorry correction done...
eh... i asked at Klang last year only cost around RM210 without Alignment...
Another is PJ Kelana Jaya around RM250 if not mistaken everything include...

I bought my PP2 185/55 R15 for my Vios at RM175 at Klang March last year...
BTW any Yokohama/Bridgestone user here which are using 195/55 R15 or 195/50 R15 user...

please comment on your tires... i need to change mine... travel a lot... when to SG 2 times and Ipoh every 4~5 weeks...

as a PP2 user here i can say Good at all round... good traction at wet and good hydroplaning...
seldom need to hold the steering hard even raining like cats and dogs... I'm driving 130~140km/h tat time
*
wear n tear for yokohama will not b suitable for u~
if u're from sales line then u might wanna try Bfgoodrich but bear wit da noise a bit cuz it's slightly noisier than PP2 but mileage certainly better is than PP2~
jus my 2 cent~

Hi Guys,
Yesterday ask Tek Ming on the price of 205/45/16 Hankook V12, which is RM 249 if 4 pcs. Ask him whether included everything like Balancing, Alignment.  He say only "Include Pong Tyre". What is the meaning of "Pong"? I have limited speak or understand of Cantonese. smile.gif
